Chapter 1407.1
“Do you mind looking at me for a second?”
“Ummm. Okay...”
Solomonia's eyes seemed to narrow, and then the pupils within his enormous eyes split hundreds of times. “Ta-daaa.”
Josiah recoiled in shock. “Agh! That's gross!”
He made a complex expression. “That's strange. It’s a hilarious joke in my group.”
“How’s that funny, you psycho?!”
“I see. We're in a position where we can't carelessly interact with any living being, so I overlooked the difference in perspectives.”
Kouna hesitantly spoke up, asking Davey, “Ummm. If I become the Deliverer, do you think I’ll change to be like them?”
“I don’t think so,” he answered. “They only want the power that he left inside you.”
Kouna was visibly relieved by his explanation.
Davey continued, “Even so, I’m against you entering this dimension.”
“Why? Is it because I still can't control my power?”
“That's certainly part of it. Also, I think you shouldn't have to do this kind of work.”
His answer was based on her own decision. Since she didn't want to do it, Davey was merely supporting her inclination.
“So, I’ll take care of everything,” he reassured her. “Don't worry about anything, and just prepare to go back.”
“You said you were going to retire,” she mumbled.
“I did. I’m pretty much retired from continental affairs, but this kind of work just won't let me go. Every time I think I'm out, something pulls me back in.”
He figured that was likely courtesy of Goddess Freyja's machinations. It seemed Davey was the only apostle she trusted.
Kouna pondered for a moment, then slowly took hold of his arm for security and confidence. “I'll help them.”
“I already said it's fine. If you get involved, I won't be able to pull you out of this.”
“I don't wanna leave them alone...”
‘Why is this kiddo being so wishy-washy?’
Davey slightly scowled, which made her flinch, but she dug in her heels.
He felt frustrated, as if he was dealing with a child throwing a tantrum.
She resolutely declared, “I absolutely can't stand seeing you struggle all by yourself because of me. Even if I get caught up in it.”
He mulled over how to convince her. A thought then flashed through his mind, and he blurted it out, “Can you handle that power?”
She fell silent, and he continued, “If you can't, I’ll have to find it and yank it out myself. But you said you didn't want to show it to me.”
She seemed to realize something, and her face flushed bright red.
“Seriously, what else do you think you can actually pull off?” he asked her, exasperated. “You won't be able to do anything, even if you follow me.”
The words were harsh, but he knew that it was better than putting her in unnecessary danger.
“You...” she began, trailing off.
“Hmm?”
“You're really... mean...”
Watching her run off in tears, Davey sighed.
‘It's probably for the best. Being in a safe place is better than needlessly interfering.’
Still, he recognized that he was just being stubborn.
Solomonia cut in, saying, “Oh, right, Great Soul. Actually, I have something urgent to discuss.”
“What is it?”
“The necrosed dimension I interfered with still has a chance.”
“You told me that already,” Davey replied with a frown.
“I know, but that dimension itself was created in such an aberrant way that it rejects all external linking.”
“And?”
“There's a bit of a time limitation at play as well.” He lowered his gaze. “So, we have to quickly find and purify the necrosed part within the dimension and subdue the god that the dimension created. However, this young dimension is currently rejecting any external interference. Even you, the Great Soul, might find it difficult to ignore its rules.”
“So I have to take care of everything within the time limit?”
“Ah, of course, no disaster will happen if you can't handle it in time, but it'll make this ordeal a needless waste of time.”
As he explained, he twirled his tentacle this way and that. He looked at Davey and began, “But... about the Deliverer...”
“I’m leaving her behind. I don’t trust you completely, and entering the dimension can come after that.”
There was clear disappointment on Solomonia’s face. “As you wish. I never expected you to trust me immediately.”
“Let me ask you one last thing.”
“Please.”
“Is there a way to enter this necrosed dimension without trouble?”
“Tearing a rift would allow entry, but doing that to a damaged dimension would cause problems.”
The dimensional barrier was already barely holding together as it was. It was obvious something would happen if they tried to tear it open again.
Nonetheless, Solomonia provided a clear solution. “You can enter by using the virtual space the Goddess of Harmony created.”

Yuria and Rinne gave extremely satisfied smiles.
The ingredients they had gathered were all things that existed in the necrosed dimension, things Davey would shortly be seeing until he was sick of them.
“Hehehe. This will keep me happy for quite a while! Separating ingredients for virtual space registration from those for actual use is an absolutely perfect plan.”
Though there were dangerous areas where one wrong step could unleash a poisonous fog, the two crazy psychos simply plowed through, collecting ingredients as if that didn't matter.
Davey made his way over to make a request. “Rinne, you come with me.”
It wasn't good to have too many people entering the necrosed dimension at once.
Davey was planning to go with just Rinne, yet she seemed hesitant to leave, wanting to focus on gathering new ingredients with Yuria.
“Ummm...”
Yuria chuckled at her unusually downcast look. “Go ahead, Rinne. I'll just be doing some totally uninteresting experiments in the meantime.”
“Rinne evaluates Yuria lowly.”
Davey was speechless for a moment. He would rather not take Rinne if Yuria and the ingredients would be constantly on her mind, so he decided to be the bigger man and release her.
He gave a sigh. “Forget it, then. Just stay.”
“Rinne evaluates Master Davey highly.”
Davey left them and regrouped at home. “Well that was unfortunate.”
He thought about going alone, but Josiah's eyes sparkled, and she excitedly said, “Teacher, there may never be another opportunity like this. Please let me go with you!”
He gently scolded, “Hey, you're not exactly in the best position to go either given how much is on your plate lately.”
She paled, dropped to her knees with tears and an open mouth filled with despair, then resolved herself to do what it took to make it happen—she desperately started whining and clung to his legs like a child begging their parents to take them to the WuxiaLand theme park.
“Please!! I don't wanna be dragged back to that hell of academia!”
‘How badly did Professor Alice abuse her to make her this desperate?’
Facing her desperate request, Davey finally relented with a nod.
Illyna, standing to the side, suddenly added, “I'll go too.”
Davey immediately responded, “No, you and Reina stay here.”
Illyna pouted and indignantly asked, “Why?!”
“I don’t completely trust Solomonia, so I need you here.” If that person tried to trick and trap him there, Davey would need someone to pull him out right away. “That Solomonia guy said the time limit is about three days. If I don’t come out after that...”
“I should open the gate, right?”
“And just in case, Perserque should stay nearby too. He might try to do something with Kouna, so please keep a close watch.”
Perserque nodded.
He had no certainty about whether to trust Solomonia or not. Nonetheless, Willow didn't know about their existence, and neither did Neltarid. Goddess Freyja was silent, so everything was up to his judgment.
“I want to help too, but...”
Neither Davey nor anyone else knew what would happen if a goddess-level being entered carelessly.
“It's funny that I have to enter so carefully using a VR headset for a dimension so weak.” After saying that, he put on the connection device that Willow had brought him.
Whummm!!!
The device glowed, and their consciousness resonated.
With that, Josiah's and Davey's consciousnesses flickered away.
* * *
They entered the new world created by the goddess. It was a necrosed dimension where the apostle created by the dimension itself ran rampant while acting as a god.
The fact that it was destroying itself while carrying out such acts was probably a side effect of the dimension undergoing another transformation.
“Hmm. I smell salt in the air, and it's pretty humid here.”
It was a world with a strong scent of the sea.
While it looked the same as a regular world, it was clearly the necrosed dimension that had crossed over via the virtual space Willow had created.
It was a dimension that hadn't even been named.
Even so, the fundamental vitality within it was unmistakably the same vitality Davey had spread in the past. It definitely felt like a real world, different from the fake virtual space Willow had created.
Josiah spoke up, remarking, “Teacher, the goal is to find and erase the necrosed part, right?”
“That's step one.”
The goal was to subdue the being who was continuously causing problems in the world, but Davey had to first focus on extending the dimension's lifespan before he could start dealing with that problem.
“But how do we find it?” she asked. They'd entered a populated city and were standing in a crowd, but still had no clues.
Davey remained silent.
“Teacher?”
He finally answered, “I don’t know.”
‘How the hell would I know that, you little brat!”
She sighed at his brazen reply. “Haah. Didn't he say from the start that the Deliverer’s power is required for the purification? Why did we come in here without a plan?”
“Let's look around first. If that doesn't work, we'll go find this dimension's god.”
“Wow. So you really had no plan at all, eh?”
As they were bickering, Josiah suddenly squealed, “That... that jerk! That pickpocket!”
She shouted, having been caught completely off guard. Despite that, she didn't look particularly flustered.
“Hand it over.” When Davey held out his hand to her, Josiah smirked and handed over the pouch she was holding.
“Hehe. We didn’t have any of their currency, so I took some liberties myself as well.”
Inside the pouch she showed, there was a large amount of that world's currency, different from the one they used in Tionis.
“You dumdum. Watch closely.” Saying that, Davey took aim at the back of the small boy disappearing in the distance and threw the coin pouch.
Whack!
“Cough!” The boy flew forward off his feet for a moment, his robe skirt slipping off as he tumbled across the ground.
At the same time, the people who hadn't cared even when Josiah yelled pickpocket earlier all turned toward them.
“Don't let a pickpocket take anything, or else it'll never stop,” one of them advised.
Davey slowly approached the stunned boy, recovered her coin pouch, and walked back.
“Seriously, Teacher, you get better every time I see you. You used to just pocket other people’s money, but now...”
“Enough. Let's go.”
Josiah followed Davey as he shamelessly sauntered away.
Of course, after causing a scene like that on the main street, it wasn't going to just pass quietly.
“Stop right there!”
Not long after they started walking, a couple of soldiers blocked their way.
Josiah’s eyes narrowed at their aggression. “What's the matter?”
It seemed the language blessing was working, as they all understood each other perfectly.
“Security check. Present your identification.”
“Sorry, but I don’t have an ID. I’m not from around here,” Josiah said with a smirk.
“What? Are you saying you caused trouble here as a foreigner?”
“Trouble? We're the victims here, though?”
When Josiah frowned, a soldier slammed his spear on the ground. “Silence!! The first apostle is currently visiting this place, so no crimes will be tolerated. How dare you cause trouble on the main street in broad daylight, especially you foreigners?!”
