After walking in there, everyone looked in Jason’s direction. Who was this guy, walking in here so arrogantly?

Jason looked everywhere around him and smiled charmingly, saying, "Hello. I am Jason and I am looking forward to working with you all from now on."

And then, in the next moment when everyone stopped looking at Jason and began looking behind him only to see that the Boss was walking in behind him, everyone stood up.

Samantha walked in after Jason smiling as she gave him a side eye, before saying to the Manager who stood up in his office, coming out very quickly. "This is Jason, show him around, and make him feel at home. I want very good updates on his actions and performance every day, you hear me?"

Turning to Jason, she smiled and then turned to everyone else, saying, "Jason just told me that he would be the most valuable hire this company has ever seen. That means that he would singlehandedly be more valuable than all of you combined. Can you imagine that, haha~?"

Jason blinked, unable to believe what this lady was even saying. How terrifying. It was something to say something evil like that with a smile, but what she did was put a target on his back. Jason thought she was done, but she was not done.

"Jason even said something else. He told me that he would come to my office in less than three months after getting some major sales and contracts, and he would ask for a renegotiation of his Salary. Tell me, what do you all think about his new workmates?"

The manager stepped forward, realising that this was a moment in which he could not only put forth his superiority but also make sure that Jason understood his place, the man spoke up. He was definitely not doing this to get some browny points. Definitely not!

"Grabbing Jason’s shoulder, he said, Jason. I understand you feel a bit interested, maybe super motivated. But setting such high goals is… a bit too unrealistic. It took me five years to get promoted to the manager position. And that was after me consistently getting employee of the month for years."

The man approached and then slapped Jason’s shoulder like a father would his son, trying to teach him that it was bad to ride a bike without safety equipment like that. "What I want to say to you is that you need to calm yourself down and put your head down. You haven’t even learned our Sales scripts yet? What can you sell if you don’t even know what to sell?"

After Jason heard this he nodded. "You’re right, but I want to say something. I am not going to go the traditional route. I want accomplishments and I want them as quickly as possible. I am ambitious and I want to go somewhere high up in life. That is what I want for myself. If I don’t set high goals for myself, who will?"

Jason walked forward, saying, "Look, what I am effectively saying is that I will not only grow myself but also grow the business. This is a good thing. I understand that It took you five years, but I cannot wait that long. I want accomplishments now, and I am willing to put in all the effort I can to get them."

Jason looked at Samantha at that moment and then he smiled. "I will come to your office in three months. I meant that. I also meant that I would be the most valuable hire in this company’s history. And I am not just talking out of my ass. I’ll prove it with hard work and effort."

"Pfft Hahaha!!"

But at that moment, when he heard someone laughing out loud, Jason turned only to see someone standing up and saying, "Wow I couldn’t imagine such a thing coming from a person who used to work in a corner shop!"

The man continued chucking, sneering and pointing at Jason as he turned to everyone. "I’ve seen this guy before. He was just a store clerk who gave me a drink when I was at the store. Back then I was wondering why this guy who looked like he could be a model was doing at a corner store, but now I know... He was learning Sales! Not!! What the hell could someone like that know about Sales?"

After hearing this, everyone looked at Jason and some people even began laughing, noticing that Jason was looking dapper as hell, but he was someone who had come from a job at a store. Who was sponsoring him?

Jason said nothing to this. When facing humiliation, it was better to not react. Rather, just be apathetic, and people will thereby realise that you don’t care, and neither should they. After all, it was nothing to you, and if that was the case, then they would gain nothing by making it something to them.

Jason was not going to let himself be steamrolled. He would own up to it all. "That’s right. I was a store clerk. I did pack shelves before this. But it won’t change my declaration. If you feel wrong about it, then you can only watch as I make it happen all by myself."

After saying this, Jason nodded, and then stood aside, this time allowing Samantha to step past him. Samantha looked at him, and a glint of appreciation went past her eye. She found this young man more and more amazing as time went by.

It seemed Veronica had found someone with a bit of a work ethic. Either that or he was crazy and arrogant and that would be bad for her. Well, whatever. She had been paid for this.

But there was something about him. He was articulate, he knew how to present his ideas, and he was respectful. Well mostly. She realised now as he stood aside that he had done what he did on purpose. It was just to make a statement.

He was very ambitious and this was a good thing. But still. She was the boss here. Using her to make himself look bigger was too much. She had to punish him for overstepping his bounds.

By exposing his ambition and making it seem like he was arrogant, she had been looking to make him reflect on his actions, but now she realised that she had probably helped him along.

After all, "Pressure makes diamonds". He must want something to push him along. And there was nothing that gave a bigger push than people. She had been used. Maybe not just once, but twice. What a bastard. She could not believe he had been working at a convenience store before this.

After turning her head away from Jason she went towards a meeting room without saying anything and she was soon followed by the Managers and Supervisors who were there. In the next moment, she finally allowed them all to take it to themselves.

Jason looked at everyone in the room and then asked the closest person where team 12 was and he was soon led to them, going to their table and then finding them there, working on whatever they were working on, with some of them on the phone, cold calling clients and potential clients.

Jason then laughed and looked at all of them, saying nothing else as he entered the room. It was an office space with a cubicle design in the middle. All of them were like this, and Team 12 was the lowest in the pack.

"Greetings everyone, My name is Jason. It’s nice to finally join your team. I hope we can work well together from now on." Jason said, but he was met with silence from everyone, and some even gave him odd looks looking down at him as they continued their work.

The team leader stepped up at that moment, saying, "Hey, man. Jason right? Yeah, maybe the first impression was not so good. But I believe in the second impression. I’m Max. Nice to meet you."

"Max. I see. Thank you for kindly welcoming me to your team." Jason said this and then shook the person’s hand, and in the next moment, he couldn’t help but take a moment to look at him, saying nothing else as he wanted everyone to work, leaning to the right and then saying,

"Is it this busy every day?"

"Nah. It’s just a performance review. The CEO’s been a bit... heavy on the sales Department recently. It’s kind of our fault too. We’re not landing clients as well as we used to," Max said, showing Jason to the place he was going to be spending his every day in from then on.

Jason nodded when he heard this. So it seemed he was right. The company was going through financial difficulty. Interesting. At that moment, as he was going around, one of the team members noticed him and couldn’t help but widen her eyes.

"Jason… No ways. That face. Are you Jason Cross?"
