Chapter 4239: The Inferno of Blood
"My dear Arastia..." His tone grew intense as his eyes grew bloodshot. "She’s within that space-time anomaly, is she?"
"That appears to be so, based on the data that we are collecting, My Lord."
"Very well then," he turned away as his expression grew determined. "Prepare for dispatch for the mission."
"Yes, My Lord."
He took one last look at the space-time phenomenon and the hemospectrogaphical sensory data.
"Wait for me, Arastia. I’m coming soon."
Far away on the surface of the planet, Arastia fought with every ounce of power she had.
WHOOSH!
She shot through the air at a high speed, curving through the atmosphere with remarkable fluidity and agility. The blood-red dwarf stars in her eyes flared with brightness as she stuck her hand out, pointing it in the direction of a hazy black blur.
—oo—oo had become a blinding flash that shot through the domain of space and time at unbelievable speeds. Despite being heavier and bigger than Arastia, her mobility within the domain was extremely high. Her stinger shot out web at an extremely high frequency, allowing her to anchor to space and time itself, warping them to propel herself forward.
RUMBLE!!!!!
The heavens around them shook violently as the two powerful beings engaged in an aggressive cat-and-mouse game through the stratosphere of Planet Amadeus III within the domain of webs that —oo—oo had created with her special space-time esoteric matter. The powerful homoarachnoid shockingly not only seemed to have an absurd amount of web within her body, but she also appeared to be able to reuse old web extremely well, not only directly, but also through re-assimilation into her body by eating it and reprocessing the attacks.
From the moment Arastia had tagged her body with a single blood cell, she had been able to identify the position of her opponent no matter where the female homoarachnoid ran off to. She gave an aggressive chase with an impatient expression, eager to crush the alien monster.
The world around her shifted into a blinding blur as she used her blood to thrust her forward even as she sky-walked through the atmosphere. Wings formed on her back, made entirely of blood, allowing her to become highly aerodynamic, something that Martial Sages couldn’t do and weren’t.
The webs of her opponent laced through the skies in straight lines, turning space and time into a crystalline geometry, rather than the flat or curved space-time that she was accustomed to. This hindered her mobility, as the very concept of what was ’straight’ and ’forward’ was being redefined at a geometric level in ways that she didn’t entirely understand.
Her view of the planet and the sky was like that of what one would expect from the stratosphere. She could see space, she could see the edge of the planet and its curving horizon. She could see a massive swathe of land, and yet, it was like the image had been shattered into disjointed pieces.
It was an environment where her opponent had an advantage, clearly. The black-furred homoarachnoid had not only made a very effective run for it from Arastia’s aggressive pursuit through the disjointed geometry of space and time in the stratosphere of the planet, but she had also launched a powerful onslaught of attacks at Arastia. Space-time clad webbing that threatened to bind Arastia in shackles fashioned from the fabric of reality itself.
From Arastia emerged blood.
From the homoarachnoid emerged a web.
The two sides exchanged an onslaught of attacks at each other in a series of explosions and collisions so intense that it seemed to ravage the very fabric of reality itself.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
RUMBLE!!!
The structure of reality itself shook violently, more violently than was advisable. It quaked aggressively and in a volatile manner that was not healthy for the world itself. The space-time esoterics and the extraordinary power that Arastia unleashed were so great that she didn’t even think to fight them.
’I need to end this soon.’
She inhaled deeply, mobilizing a tremendous amount of power within her body. Her blood-red eyes shone with so much power that they were blindingly bright. The world around her shook as the very nature of her blood began to shift, growing more and more... heavy.
It began to shine brightly as a single remark escaped Arastia.
"Blood Plasma."
RUMBLE!!!!!
The blood that she unleashed shifted.
No longer did it function like a fluid.
No longer did it function like a gas.
It functioned more and more like energy itself.
It was a state of blood that she had tapped into with hers as a blood sage. She hypercharged the particles in her blood cells, causing them to grow electrically active and polarized, allowing her to manipulate and mobilize them with much greater power than she could otherwise.
It also allowed for a smoother transmission of energy than would be otherwise possible, allowing her to make her attacks as close to energy itself.
Indeed, that was one of the holy grails of the Blood Path. To make one’s blood energy itself.
To become a being whose veins and arteries coursed with pure raw energy itself, such that their blood was everything and everywhere.
It was a theoretical threshold of power that no hemosapien had ever reached before.
And yet, Arastia was the closest.
RUMBLE!!!!!
—oo—oo felt horrifying chills crawl across her body as the plasmic red electrical blood rushed towards her at speeds vastly exceeding that of lightning, getting rid of one of the shortcomings of hemokinesis: its speed. The attack moved so fast that —oo—oo wasn’t able to get out of the way in time, even with her space-time webbing.
The blood washed over her body, threatening to utterly vaporize her if not for the space-time webbing that clad her body as armor.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
RUMBLE!!!!!
The plasmic blood washed over —oo—oo as she grew drowned in a powerful flow of charges and energy through the blood and through her body.
CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK!!!
Her pincers began opening and shutting, smashing against each other in an agonizing beat of pure pain. Her body shivered as the plasma began penetrating the few chinks in her armor, reaching her fur and flesh, burning and vaporizing it in the blink of an eye. Without the absolute protection of her web armor, none of the homoarachnoids could withstand the attacks of any pathwalker, but certainly not one of the strongest pathwalkers of human civilization.
"Burn in the inferno of blood."
