Chapter 4206: Retaliating Leaders

In a distant cavity beyond the reach of outsiders, numerous homoarachnoids had gathered. The darkness of the surrounding region didn’t seem to bother them that much. Their pincers clicked and clacked against each other, producing sounds of different frequencies, intensities, and durations. They communicated with each other through sound, but relied on the variation in the clicking to make room for diversity in meaning and complexity. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

It wasn’t just their communication that had structure; however, it was also their manner of conduct.

They didn’t simply crawl around like merely giant versions of insects.

They organized themselves in rather contiguous groups, organizing themselves in perfect alignment.

It wasn’t just their conduct that was organized, but even their environment. They didn’t merely seclude themselves in an underground cave with uneven rocky ground.

No.

Around them were massive wall-like structures with grids that resembled those of woven cloth. The threads that had been spun to create the foundation of the infrastructure were fashioned from the web fluid that their bodies produced. The woven web structures around them were anything but simple, either, showing off a level of civil engineering that revealed not just complexity, but culture.

The various groups of gathered homoarachnoids wore cover. Something that the homoarachnoids that fought on the surface against the outsiders didn’t do. Additionally, there were noticeable differences in the kinds of attire that different groups wore.

Some of the gathered homoarachnoids wore attire that covered much of their body. Others wore more limited covering, covering only the more vital parts of their body and their reproductive organs. There were groups that appeared bare, as well.

The color of the fur of these creatures also varied between different shades of turquoise, marking evidence of racial variation within the alien homoarachnoid species.

There was more than just cultural and racial variation evident among the gathered homoarachnoids.

One could only very clearly see the hierarchy.

In front of each group of homoarachnoids were larger specimens of their species, who were even further stratified into various tiers.

At the very forefront of each group were a handful of specimens that led their respective groups. Their bodies had larger limbs and thicker fur. More importantly, their bodies glowed with the dense presence of high-grade esoteric matter.

They were markedly different from the rest of their species.

Their clicks were louder than the rest of their group, as well, allowing them to overshadow the rest of them.

They deliberated fiercely, clicking away endlessly. The fundamental building blocks of their language were actually very simply a binary system. Click. And silence. Together, they could create combinations and sequences of clicks and silences to construe unique auditory characters that could be used to create a diverse series of signals to represent and convey complex thought.

Thoughts that could be translated into the human language.

"Outsiders. Have. Invaded."

Their tone, expressed through a combination of volume, intensity, and duration of their clicks, was one of grim severity.

It was also one of great anger.

"We. Must. Destroy." One particular specimen clicked with a fierce bloodlust that crackled in his pincers. "Must. Banish. Must. Secure. Land."

He was among the homoarachnoids that wore limited clothes fashioned from glowing web fabric, glowing a light purple that contrasted with his turquoise fur. The white pupils on the eyes checkered across his skull, honed in on the other esoteric specimens at the front of their respective groups.

"We. Must. Fight. Back! We. Tribe. Leaders. Must. Wage. War. Destroy. Bipedal. Outsiders!"

A female homoarachnoid turned towards him in a calmer manner, clicking her pincers in response.

"Outsiders. Strong. Must. Plan. Must. Be. Prepared."

Those words invoked anger not just from the one called -o—o-o. He looked at her with anger in each of the six eyes on his head. "Oo—o-! You. Are. A. Fool!"

He turned towards the remaining tribe members, clicking away furiously.

"My. Fellow. Blessed. Warriors! We. Ascendents. Must. Wage. War. Against. Outsiders! Cannot. Allow. Them. To. Establish. Presence. On. Outpost. World! In. The. Name. Of. Divine. Mothers!"

His call for war received much greater approval from the other blessed warriors, who echoed his roar.

"In. The. Name. Of. Divine. Mothers!"

Oo—o- could only shake her head at the foolishness of her brethren. But alas, she knew that there was no stopping them when they got like this. The males of the homoarachnoid species were viciously aggressive by nature. They were also most blessed with the power of esoteric matter, aside from those females who went on to become Divine Mothers, giving them tremendous power in their civilization.

Unlike her brothers, however, she didn’t underestimate their enemies. Their powerful external technology was impressive, even if they had yet to overcome the web fluids of even their weaker brethren manning the surface.

However, the group of individuals who had boldly taken a step on their planet was powerful. They had managed to defy the onslaught of attacks that her lesser brethren had unleashed upon them. They knew that they had gotten stronger than most.

She knew that they would fight. She didn’t know what the outcome was going to be, but she was going to be prepared for it nonetheless. Once the congregation had disbanded, she immediately instructed her underlings to bring her the specimens of the outsiders that they had managed to capture.

THUD

A bound Martial Master was tossed in front of the creature. A man who was covered in a dense, thick cocoon of special web fluid containing rich amounts of esoteric matter. So much so that even the struggling Martial Master could not escape it.

Oo—o- stepped forward slowly, her insectile legs carrying her entire body forward.

The Martial Master’s eyes widened with horror as he beheld the female homoarachnoid towering over him. "MMMF! MMMMMF!"

And yet, struggled as he did, he could not break free from the homoarachnoid’s webbing.

Oo—o- studied the Martial Artist with a curious expression, noting that their upper bodies weren’t too dissimilar, even if their lower bodies were completely different.

"I. Shall. Squeeze. You. Of. Every. Ounce. Of. Information. I. Can."

Pure terror emerged in the eyes of the Martial Master as he tried to resist.

And yet, in the face of the ascendant homoarachnoid, he was completely helpless, all but doomed to reveal everything that he knew about human civilization.
