Chapter 76: Cat and Dog Fight

Milo stood at the edge of the table. He knew exactly what this was. Felix wasn’t actually hungry.

Milo realized Felix was just being a jerk because he was jealous of him. But Salvatore had told him clearly: he was a guard, not a house servant.

"I’m sorry," Milo said. "I can’t serve you food. If you want, I’ll get the kitchen staff."

Felix looked at Milo with his piercing eyes. "You’re saying no to me?"

Milo’s stomach clenched. He wasn’t used to standing his ground like this. His instinct was to apologize and do whatever was asked.

But he remembered what Salvatore had told him. That he didn’t have to agree to things that weren’t his role. That saying no was allowed.

"I’m sorry," Milo said again. "I can’t serve you."

Felix laughed. It was short and dry. He pushed back from the table and stood up. He crossed the room in four steps and shoved Milo hard into the wall.

Milo’s shoulder hit the stone. His water glass fell and shattered on the floor.

He was stunned.

Felix placed a hand against Milo’s throat.

Milo gasped. "Sir..."

"You think you’re brave just because Salvatore slept with you?" Felix said. His voice was low. "Do you think that makes you someone in this house?"

Milo swallowed hard. "Sir, I didn’t mean to. Why are you doing this to me? I’m... I’m not your servant!"

"Not my servant." Felix laughed again, the same dry sound. "Look at you. You’re not even useful enough to be a servant. And you think you’re Salvatore’s boy now? Do you realize how stupid you look?"

Salvatore’s boy? Milo hadn’t even thought of that. But he knew Salvatore was using him to get rid of Felix, so he couldn’t just ruin it.

After all, he needed to help Salvatore.

He grabbed Felix’s hand and tried to push him away hard. "I’m not a servant, Mr. Felix."

He tried to be brave, but his voice trembled badly. "If you think I’m..." He paused for a moment. "...Salvatore’s boy, then think whatever you like. But you can’t touch me! Or I’ll report you to him!"

He made sure to address Salvatore by his first name.

Felix froze completely.

He was too shocked to process that response. He had never expected Milo to talk back to him. How dare he!

Then he pulled Milo toward the table and swung his fist.

Milo’s eyes widened. He moved quickly, pulling his head back.

Felix’s fist struck his cheekbone instead of his nose.

Damn! The impact jerked his head to the side. He grabbed the edge of the table to stay upright, and Felix lunged forward again, this time grabbing his collar.

"How dare you talk to me like that!"

Milo gasped. "Sir! Stop it!"

Milo shifted his weight and pulled backward, breaking the grip.

Felix threw another punch, and Milo turned just enough for it to land across his shoulder blade.

It hurt. He felt the pain all the way up to his neck.

Milo tried to get away. He moved to the left, but Felix followed, cutting off the space between Milo and the door.

Felix grabbed his arm and yanked him sideways.

Milo lost his balance and fell to the floor. He looked at Felix, who was moving quickly toward him, and kicked him.

"Argh! Sir! Please stop!"

Milo tried to defend himself and crawl back, but Felix had lost his mind.

Milo tried to get up and run behind the chair. His breath caught. He looked at Felix, who was clearly trying to kill him.

Milo had no choice but to fight back. He saw it as if he were training with Salvatore. Only Felix wasn’t as strong as Salvatore.

He managed to punch Felix in the face once and kick his legs twice!

He was shocked by his own strength right then. His fists tightened, and he felt his feet land even harder.

"I’m sorry!" Milo shouted as he saw Felix regain his composure on the floor.

Felix stood up again. And now he was even more determined than before.

The two of them were like a cat and a dog fighting.

"How dare you touch me!"

"I didn’t touch you! You punched me first!"

"You motherfucker!"

"Sir! Did you expect me to just stand here as a punching bag?"

They kept trying to punch and kick each other.

"You better die!"

"No, I won’t!"

Two guards appeared in the doorway. One of them said something. Neither of them moved in yet.

"What happened to them?" one of them asked.

"Should we separate them?"

"They’re not training, right?"

"I don’t think so."

Felix straightened up and looked at Milo, his hand pressed against his jaw. He was breathing heavily.

Milo was breathing even harder. His back was going to be badly bruised from the punch it had taken, and he could feel his heartbeat in his cheekbone.

Felix moved again, grabbed Milo, and pushed him to the floor. He pinned the young man down with his feet and hands.

Milo gasped. He couldn’t breathe!

"Sir! Ahhh! S-stop!"

Felix kept holding him down.

Then...

"Enough!"

A loud shout came from the hallway.

Salvatore was standing in the doorway.

He looked around the room. The broken glass on the floor. The overturned chair. Felix with his hand on Milo’s jaw, his feet on Milo’s hips.

They both looked at the door.

Nobody moved.

Salvatore’s expression didn’t change. His eyes went to Felix first, then to Milo, then back to Felix. He stepped into the room slowly, and the two guards in the doorway moved aside immediately.

The room was completely silent.

Felix was breathing heavily. But he released his grip. Milo moved quickly and sat up immediately. He held his jaw, feeling as if it were dislocated.

"What the hell is going on?!" Salvatore broke the silence.

Milo swallowed hard and looked at Felix, blaming him for the fight.

Felix stood up and straightened his clothes. His nose was now bleeding.

He was shocked.

Salvatore moved quickly, grabbed a tissue from the table, pushed Felix’s head down, and stuffed the tissue into his nose.

Milo didn’t move. He was too scared.

Salvatore sighed. He looked at both of them, their faces bruised. He couldn’t believe Milo would actually fight. He was amazed by that.

Felix held the tissue, still frowning.

"Sit down, and you’d better give me a good reason for this childish behavior."
