Chapter 8: Shivering Heap
Li Jun saw that they didn’t want to sit, so he didn’t insist. He poured himself another drink and drank it slowly, his gaze locked on Yu Wen, who looked like he was about to explode. The tension in the room was so intense that Alex wanted to flee and avoid being collateral damage.
Yu Wen said, "Go get a status update." Alex knew they were all wearing comms and they were receiving updates constantly. The general’s meaning was that he wanted to have a private conversation with Li Jun. He was a little worried that if he left, these two would start fighting, so he didn’t immediately react.
The general who wasn’t even looking at him said, "Go," in a commanding tone. Alex knew he couldn’t disobey him, so he turned to leave.
As soon as the door closed, Li Jun smiled, showing his canine tooth as he said, "I am surprised you would want to be left alone with me in a room... is it that you have taken a fancy to me?" The raging storm Yu Wen had been restraining stirred violently and he barely held himself back.
Li Jun leaned forward and said, "I am not into men but for you..." He looked at him, his gaze trailing upwards with a lewd expression that made Yu Wen feel dirty. "I can make an exception."
The general was looking for just one valid excuse to put his hands on him, and just then, he got that reason. "General, we found something tucked beneath the floor." Yu Wen finally showed a smile that was more like a sneer.
He said, "Imperial Prince Jun, you are under arrest. Turn around and face the wall." His voice was stern and his aura imposing. Others would have done as told without thinking twice but Li Jun leaned back lazily and said, "Make me."
That was all Yu Wen needed to hear. He lunged forward to grab him but Li Jun reacted quickly. He splashed the liquor on him and Yu Wen raised his hand to prevent his face from being drenched in liquor but most of it still ended up on him.
Li Jun threw the glass at him and leaped off the couch. Yu Wen dodged and the glass shattered on the ground. He kicked the table with so much force that it flew and struck Li Jun’s back. Li Jun swore, "Fuck!" as he tumbled to the ground.
Yu Wen threw the table off his target and grabbed him by the back of the collar, pulling him up. Before he could cuff him, Li Jun reacted, grabbing his arm and hauling him over his shoulders. With a bang, he slammed the general to the ground and straddled him before throwing punches.
Yu Wen blocked his attacks but he was still hit one or two times. Infuriated, Yu Wen struck his chin with his elbow. That strike felt like Yu Wen had knocked the life out of him. He fell over, seeing stars in his eyes and Yu Wen took advantage of the opportunity. He pressed him down, mounting his chest and threw heavy punches and elbows at him. Li Jun, bleeding from biting his tongue, retaliated while yelling, "Yu Wen, you fucker."
Yu Wen clamped his wrists hard, suppressing him. Li Jun gritted his teeth as he struggled to escape but despite having the same mental strength and the same build, he found that he couldn’t break free. Enraged, he said, "General Yu Wen, let me go. I am ordering you." But Yu Wen didn’t do as ordered.
He put handcuffs on him and got off of him. As though that wasn’t enough, he put cuffs on Li Jun’s legs as well. Li Jun kicked him hard in the chest. Yu Wen just grimaced in pain but he didn’t let go of his leg. He cuffed them both, making Li Jun feel like a pig about to be slaughtered. "Yu Wen, you son of a bitch. I swear, I will kill you. I will chop you to fucking pieces and feed you to wild beasts, do you hear me?"
Yu Wen heard it all, but he didn’t feel threatened. He crouched down next to him and said, "The more you move, the more they tighten. I advise you to stop moving." As though to confirm his words, the cuffs tightened and Li Jun gritted his teeth. Instead of appreciating his sound advice, Li Jun spat at him.
Yu Wen didn’t think Li Jun would do such a shameless thing. He smiled maliciously, looking like a devil crawled out of hell. Li Jun shivered for some reason. He didn’t fear Yu Wen, in fact, he never had a reason to.
But this time he was genuinely shaken. Yu Wen took out a handkerchief and wiped his face with a look of disgust. After wiping it away, he tossed the filthy handkerchief at him and got up slowly.
Li Jun, breathing deep and heavy, said, "What... what are you doing?"
Yu Wen took out his taser gun and as he looked down at him, just like Li Jun looked down at him with disgust that day, he said, "What do you think?" He pulled the trigger and a spike of jagged white sparks struck Li Jun.
Li Jun felt his muscles contract, his limbs going rigid. The current flowed through his body, making it hard to breathe. For ten long seconds, Yu Wen watched the once majestic Imperial heir reduced to a shivering heap. This was only the beginning of his revenge, but he felt no sense of satisfaction at all. He wanted more. He wanted to make him suffer for swinging that blade and killing his father.
The commander, who had been watching over the team using tool kits to test the bricks of drugs piled on top of each other, swore in frustration. The so-called drugs weren’t drugs at all. It wasn’t Chronos but an edible glitter. It looked exactly the same, but a simple test showed that it was completely different. "Fuck fuck fuck!!" he swore and punched the wall hard. The intel was wrong. It was all wrong.
Yan Jia, who was in handcuffs standing in the room, said, "It’s for our glitter bombs. His Highness likes his ladies covered in glitter. Unless that’s a crime, you should let my prince go."
