Chapter 72: Vacation
Luca realized then that he was dealing with pig teammates. He glared at his subordinate, and the young man who was smug just now had his head hung low, looking pitiful. He knew the commander was going to give him extra hours for his shift.
Yu Wen gritted his teeth. He knew that this wasn’t Xiu Ying’s doing. If anything, she needed him alive so she could deliver him to Draco as a sign of goodwill. It must have been Li Zimo who did this, or someone who didn’t want their involvement exposed.
"Did he say who helped him?" he asked.
Luca shook his head no and said, "He didn’t say anything. He was incredibly stubborn."
"One last thing, how did he die?"
"He was poisoned," replied Luca. He just wanted Yu Wen to get lost. Since they couldn’t exchange blows, there was no point in keeping him here. "If that’s all, please show yourself out, General."
Yu Wen met his cold gaze, the tension between them intensifying. He didn’t know what Luca’s problem was with him. If it was about the fight, then Luca was too sensitive and shouldn’t be the head of the Imperial guards.
"Thanks for your time," he said before walking away. Luca clenched his fists as he watched him leave. He was glad his highness had left this place otherwise, he would be ill at ease having Yu Wen around Li Jun.

A breathtaking sea of bright lights sparkled like gems in the valley, with streetlamps casting golden halos along winding roads. The streets were still bustling in this tourist town. From where Li Jun was standing, he could still see the lively market and bars. The sound of music and laughter was carried by the breeze towards his balcony.
Li Jun leisurely leaned against the rails with a bottle of beer in his hand. He smiled and said, "Who did it?" He was talking on the phone with Yan Jia. She had wanted to go with him on his adventures, but he refused. Yan Jia’s life always revolved around him, and she didn’t have anything for herself, so he gave her some time off.
But instead of sipping cocktails on the poolside, she was busy monitoring the situation in the imperial city. Yan Jia had just called him to let him know that pervert Dec finally got his karma.
Someone beat the shit out of him after he was caught trying to steal grandma panties. The grandma whose underwear was stolen was an official’s mother. He was charged with theft and a sexual crime.
Images of him with a broken arm and leg covered in stolen underwear were all over StarNet. People were calling him the panty bandit. Li Jun tapped his phone, and a floating screen appeared in front of him. He looked at the man crying on the ground, rolling in the old woman’s knickers, and laughed, finding it hilarious.
Yan Jia said, "You shouldn’t have let him go the first time."
"It was just a couple of drawers. I thought my warning would get through to him, but I was wrong," he said before taking a sip.
She sighed before saying, "That’s not the problem. The issue is that Yu Wen scooped him up, and he was asking him questions."
Li Jun’s hand froze midair, and his brow arched. He walked inside and placed the bottle on the table. "What could he possibly get out of that pervert? My underwear size?" he joked, but he was a little uneasy. What could Yu Wen possibly want with that pervert?
"I was preoccupied with the plan that I didn’t realize he was questioning him. Not only Dec, but he also spoke to Juno," she said, looking at the report on everything Yu Wen had been up to. Ever since she saw Yu Wen through the surveillance camera, she had been paying special attention to him. Turns out the general had been really busy.
"Who?" he asked, unable to recall that name.
"Juno Murillo, the woman who tried to make a move on you," she reminded him.
He slumped on the couch, saying, "Uh... what did he want with her?
Yan Jia said, "I don’t know, but I don’t think it’s anything you need to worry about, your highness."
Li Jun rubbed his upper lip lightly while lost in thought. He had a bad feeling in his gut, but would Yu Wen really invest that much energy to find out the truth? Just that thought alone made Li Jun laugh at himself. The very thought that Yu Wen would invest so much in him struck Li Jun as a pure egocentric delusion.
"Send me all the information you have on him," he said, trying to figure out what Yu Wen had been up to, but come to think of it, why should he bother? It would make it seem like he was obsessed with him.
Yan Jia was about to send it to him when Li Jun said, "Never mind. I am supposed to be enjoying my newfound freedom, not dwelling on the past. You should be relaxing as well. Forget about the capital. It’s no longer our problem."
She agreed with him, but in truth, she was going to keep watching Yu Wen. If only Li Jun would give him the order, she would eliminate him immediately and remove this threat completely.
"I am going out to have a drink. You should go out and have fun too," he said as he stretched his limbs like a cat after basking in the sun.
"Be careful out there, your highness. Don’t drink too much," she said, worried out of her mind. She really hated being far away from Li Jun. It made her feel so uneasy.
Li Jun got up and walked into the walk-in closet to pick up a set of clothes. "Relax, I am a grown man. I will drink responsibly," he said, picking a blue shirt.
"It’s not you I am worried about. I am worried others might have bad intentions and drug you," she said with a worried look in her eyes.
"You worry too much. Who would want to drug me when they don’t even know who I am?" he said, putting on the shirt while standing in front of the mirror. His face had changed and looked completely different from before.
Yan Jia sighed exasperatedly before saying, "You are still a handsome man."
Li Jun chuckled and said, "Don’t worry. I will be careful. I will message you as soon as I return. Now stop making a fuss." That seemed to put Yan Jia at ease for now.
