Chapter 51: Sibiling Rivalry
Li Jun was led to the most secure cell in the imperial prison. Crimes in the Royal family weren’t rare. What was rare, though, was them getting prosecuted for them. This cell had only housed two people in the past, and their crimes were just as bad as the ones he was being charged with.
Luca instructed them to chain his arms and legs. He glanced at Li Jun, and Li Jun met his gaze with a genuine smile. Luca looked away. He didn’t want to see Li Jun in this place, and he had opposed this plan since day one, but his highness had made up his mind. Someone as kind and caring as Li Jun didn’t deserve to be chained up like this, even if it was temporary.
After they were done, he gestured for them to leave. With a sigh, Li Jun slumped on the bench that was big enough to lie on. Luca took a step forward and said, "Let me know if you need anything."
Li Jun, seeing the concern in his eyes, mouthed, "Don’t be so obvious," before glancing at the camera. Luca pursed his lips. He wanted to say something more to comfort him, but he knew his highness was right. He turned to leave, the sound of his boots bouncing off the walls.
A buzzing sound filled the room as the cell door clinked shut. Li Jun sighed as he lay down. Luca had told him the bench was cold and hard and had suggested putting cushions, but Li Jun had refused. He didn’t want anything to go wrong or make Xiu Ying suspicious. But now, having laid down on it, he kind of regretted it.
He closed his eyes, thinking that taking a nap could help with the hangover, but he knew that he would never get any peace in a place like this. The doors that had clinked shut slid open again. With a sigh, he opened his eyes and sat up.
When he saw Li Yu looking like a demon here to steal his soul, he tilted his head and smiled. Seeing that infuriating grin, she clenched the plasma baton in her hand, her jaw tight. She took a step forward and said, "You tried to kill my mother."
Li Jun chuckled, finding this little act amusing. He ran his fingers through his hair, the chains clinking with his movements as he said, "Come on, both of us know that’s not true..." Her fingers moved nervously on the on button as she stood there, her gaze locked on him like a predator.
"I also know that you didn’t come here to avenge her. No no no, Little Yu doesn’t give a fuck if her mother is on her death bed. She cares more about her evil half-brother fucking her crush... That’s what she is here for."
Enraged, she turned on the plasma baton. It crackled, the sound alone, terrifying. It was a close combat weapon that discharged superheated energy that was enough to burn off one’s skin, crack bones, and melt through light armor. Pressed on the body long enough, and it would cripple or kill the person, but Li Jun wasn’t terrified at all.
With a sneer, he said, "Do you know what we did last night after we left together?" At this point, Li Yu was trembling with rage. It was clear that she would explode any second. He continued saying, "I fucked him really hard. He was calling me husband all nigh-"
Before he could even finish, she charged forward and swung that baton like her very survival was dependent on it. Li Jun didn’t let that thing touch him. He dodged and shoved her away. Li Yu staggered a few steps but regained her footing. With a loud roar, she lunged forward again.
This time, Li Jun kicked the baton out of her hand, and with a clank, it rolled a distance away. Her breathing ragged, she rushed over to pick it up again, but before she could reach it, he caught her and pulled her back, slamming her to the ground.
They had fought before when they were kids, but this was the first time they fought as adults. She swung her hand and slapped him hard across the face. This was the only strike he would allow. Before he could react, she crawled beyond the reach of his chain and grabbed the baton.
With no hesitation, she struck him with it. Li Jun gritted his teeth from the agonizing pain. The sears blistered his skin, and the force rattled his bones. His muscles twitched, and his nerves screamed from the violent shock.
But he had endured worse before. He grabbed the baton and yanked it out of her hand. He punched her square in the face. She didn’t think he would hit her in the face, nonetheless. She staggered back, her vision blurred. Before she could even think of escaping, Li Yu wrapped the chain around her throat. The air was cut off from her lungs, and she couldn’t breathe.
She struggled trying to pull the chain off her neck, but it was pointless. Her face was turning red, and she was getting weaker and weaker. Li Jun whispered, "I have told you before, don’t fuck with me, and I won’t fuck with you, but you don’t fucking listen."
Just when she was seeing black spots, Li Jun let her go and kicked her away. He grabbed the baton that he had dropped and glared at her as she coughed on the ground. Li Jun knew that the reason why no one came to stop them was because Li Yu had sent everyone away. She thought he was harmless because he was in chains, but she was sadly mistaken.
Shaking in both shock and fear, she rubbed her neck and said, "How *cough *cough, how could you do this to me? I am your own blood *cough."
He laughed after hearing this. His own blood? When he first heard that he was going to have a sister, he was so excited. When he met the cute little dumpling, he even gave her his teddy bear, thinking that’s what older brothers do. But when he caught Xiu Ying burning it, he knew that he would have to love his sister from a distance.
Behind Xiu Ying’s back, he played with her and did everything for her. When she wanted something, no matter how far, he would get it for her. That was until Li Yu began to pick fights with her for no reason.
