Chapter 16: Draco vs Yu Wen

AN: Thank you so much for your endless support. See you in the comments.

In an open field, dust rose as a stealth spacecraft lowered to the ground. As it hovered a few feet above, a man clad in black jumped off the spacecraft, his coat flapping in the wind. His boot slammed on the ground, his figure imposing. He straightened his posture and walked in a certain direction as the spacecraft flew off.

Something emerged from the dirt and with a ding, the door slid open. He stepped inside and the doors closed behind him. It was an elevator going underground. After what seemed like an eternity, the elevator came to a stop and the door slid open.

The world inside was completely different from the wasteland above. It was one of the many bases belonging to Blue Sapphire. A short man with blue hair was waiting for him outside the door. When he saw Yu Wen, he suppressed the intense irritation in his heart and said, "General Yu, he is waiting for you in the training hall. This way, please."

Yu Wen followed him down the hallways and the men and women lingering around on purpose gave him fierce glances. It was as though, given the order, they would tear him to pieces with no hesitation. If it were anyone else, they would have been terrified walking into this den of lions. Yu Wen, on the other hand, was unfazed. He wasn’t intimidated in the slightest.

When they reached the training hall, Draco had a man in a front headlock position, holding on tight. The man red in the face, his veins throbbing, tapped out and Draco let him go. The man was of a certain age, but he was still formidable and could go head-to-head with people three times his junior. His chest heaving, he met Yu Wen’s gaze and his expression grew colder.

Yu Wen walked over his steps unhurried, like he wasn’t in enemy territory. Draco said, "You have got guts. Aren’t you afraid I will kill you and no one would ever know what befell the leader of Red Valkyrie?"

Yu Wen’s lips curled into a cold smile and he said, "Did you check your skies?" Draco arched his brow. Yu Wen didn’t leave him hanging. He explained, "I have plasma cannons pointed at your base. If I am not back within the hour, they will fire. If I die, I am taking you with me."

Draco laughed. He was indeed that cunning bastard’s son. He said, "You want to spar with this old man?"

How could Yu Wen pass up such an opportunity? He took off his coat while saying, "I won’t go easy on you just because you are old."

"I never expected you to," he replied as he shifted into a ready stance with a sinister smile. Yu Wen hung his cloak neatly and walked over. They didn’t waste any time, getting right into it.

From the start, the jabs and kicks were aggressive, the aim obvious. It was to end their opponent swiftly and as ruthlessly as possible. Draco swung a powerful right jab and Yu Wen’s response was a takedown attempt, aiming low.

His arms wrapped around Draco’s legs and with a bang, they tumbled to the floor. They exchanged blows, each taking a violent hit. Seeing the situation, Draco’s men didn’t intervene. Instead, they grew more excited, eager to watch their boss put Yu Wen in his place.

But at this moment, it was hard to tell who was putting who in their place. Fists and elbow punches rained down, with each of them taking damage. Yu Wen was bleeding from his nose and Draco was bleeding from his mouth. Draco managed to kick him off his body and Yu Wen rolled over before stabilizing himself and getting on his feet.

Yu Wen, with his mouth covered in blood, said, "You fight like your grandson. Weak yet determined," in a mocking tone.

Draco sneered and said, "You talk too much." He lunged forward and landed a ruthless kick on Yu Wen’s face. Yu Wen wouldn’t let him land a blow twice, hence when he attempted it a second time, Yu Wen grabbed his leg and slammed him to the ground.

A fierce scramble ensued. The two of them fought fiercely as they rolled on the ground, sweat flying and knuckles splitting skin. They were equally matched in strength with no clear winner.

"He really took a bite out of you, huh?" Draco suddenly said, his voice breathy as he blocked another strike. That stunned Yu Wen momentarily. Taking advantage of his distraction, he wrapped his arm around Yu Wen’s throat, locking him in a tight grip.

Yu Wen, gasping and refusing to give in, tried to free himself but this old man was especially ruthless. No matter how hard he tried, the grip would only get tighter. Left with no choice, he tapped out and Draco, with a sly grin, let him go.

Yu Wen staggered to his feet, saying, "As usual, you have no honor to speak of. You couldn’t beat me, so you resorted to such dirty tricks."

Draco laughed, his arm resting lazily on his knee. He wiped the blood dripping down his face with the back of his hand and said, "As you said, I fight like my grandson."

Not wanting to stay here any longer, Yu Wen put on his coat while asking, "Don’t tell me you only invited me here just for a sparring match?"

Draco got up, saying, "Of course not... I wanted to tell you to lay off my grandson."

Yu Wen’s action of putting on his coat paused for a second. He lowered his gaze and continued, "Anyone who had a hand in my father’s death will not be spared. Li Jun is guilty so he can only bear his cross."

Draco, unable to suppress his anger, said, "Yu Wen, don’t let your need for revenge cloud your judgment. How could Li Jun have anything to do with your father’s death? It was that bastard Li Mingze who executed him."

Yu Wen turned to look at him and said, "If he is so innocent, why doesn’t he come out and say what happened that night?" Enraged, he stepped forward and Draco’s men walked over to stop him but Draco raised his hand to stop them. "I saw him holding the blade and he swung it... so tell me, Draco, should I just let him go when he has blood on his hands?"

Draco didn’t respond fast enough for him, so he continued saying, "I didn’t think so. Unless you are going to kill me now, this won’t end until one of us is six feet under." He turned to leave only for Draco to say, "Stop."

He turned around slowly and, with an unsettling smile, he asked, "Are you not letting me leave now?"

The old man walked over and said, "Whatever you think Li Jun did, you are wrong. I will prove it to you."

Yu Wen fixed his coat while saying, "Then I look forward to it... but in the meantime, I will not let him off." After saying that, he walked out, the air around him murderous.
