Chapter 140: Real palace drama
Kai Jing stared blankly at the call that had just ended and clenched his jaw in frustration. He had just gotten off the call with the king. He had left Helion without permission, resulting in this unpleasant exchange. Firstly, it was because of the death squad members that had been annihilated.
Secondly, the use of Elora’s kids had enraged Aurelia, and the pushback was ten times worse. He was demanding that he return to Helion, but how could Kai Jing go back? He was almost there. All he had to do was blow up that camp, and he would end the pair of love birds. Just thinking about his probability of success, he smiled slyly.
Kai Jing had been tracking Li Jun and Yu Wen’s movements to execute his plan, but he didn’t realize that someone else was also monitoring him. And that person was staring at Helion’s warship, Night Sand, just waiting for the orders from above.
That person was none other than Princeton. Finding this rat was easy despite everything he had done to stay invisible. Dead or alive, Princeton was ready to deliver. All he needed was a go-ahead. He put his feet up and tore open the packet of his chocolate bar.
He bit into it. With a content smile, he leaned his head back. When he did that, his long hair, which had been in a bun, unraveled. His lush strands fell like a waterfall. He opened his eyes only to be met by Damian’s intense gaze.
Princeton was only shocked for a second. He didn’t hear him walking in. He didn’t even know that Damian was already on his ship. After that call he dropped, he knew that it wouldn’t take Damian that long before he came looking for him.
When the shock wore off, he smiled and said, "You could have at least told me you were coming. I would have shaved," in a teasing tone.
Damian didn’t care about that. Shaved or unshaved, he would still devour him. It made no difference to him. What did though was the fact that Princeton never answered his calls or his messages. He was always the one chasing after him, never the other way around. And like a dummy, he kept coming back for more.
This man had him whipped so good that he couldn’t let go. His father once joked that he was bewitched. No matter how many times he had told himself to have some self-respect, he kept coming back.
Damian sighed. "I don’t even know why I am here," he murmured to himself. Of course, Princeton was fine. He didn’t need him here. He just didn’t feel at ease knowing that Princeton was here. Sure, he wasn’t alone, but Damian couldn’t sit still. Now that he was in front of the person he had been worried about and met with this attitude, he regretted rushing over.
He turned to walk out, but before he took a step, Princeton spun his chair around and said, "Where are you going? You just got here."
Damian paused. He could feel the invisible red string between them tugging at him. It was pulling him back towards this intoxicating minx. "You don’t seem that happy to see me. Since you don’t need me here. I am going to go." He meant those words, but it didn’t mean it didn’t hurt as he said it.
With each word, the gush in his heart grew bigger. Before he could bleed out and leave his heart on the floor, he walked out. Princeton’s brow arched. If the mountain wouldn’t come to him, then he would bring the mountain towards him.
Damian felt an icy chill behind his back. It was like a resentful spirit was burning a hole in his flesh. Before he could flee, he was grabbed from behind, and the door slid shut behind him. This... this was the reason why he was entranced.
Princeton had a way with his tongue that could have him giving up his wealth. Not only that, but when that man straddled him and took his entire length, it was like his soul was being sucked away. Princeton was the very definition of a succubus.
Li Jun had no idea that his uncle was in a toxic situationship. He was busy enjoying Li Yu’s downfall. His only regret was that he wasn’t there to see her face when Xiu Ying found out. He would have loved to be in the peanut gallery. He sighed with regret.
Yan Jia knew what he was thinking, so she said, "You know we can get a feed from the security cameras in the palace?" Of course, Li Jun knew that. How else did he know that Yan Jia used to get hit on by the female imperial guard every morning or that Yu Xuan had a secret friendship with a squirrel in the garden? He had even named it Max and brought it nuts whenever he came over.
Was it snooping? Invasion of privacy? Maybe. But ever since he gave up his position as heir, he had nothing to do, so from time to time he would watch security cameras for fun. It was like watching a real palace drama. Who was dating who. Who broke up with who.
"Oohhh, is she at the palace yet?" he asked, and Yan Jia smiled.
She tapped the floating screen and showed her Li Yu stepping out of the spacecraft. She seemed unaware of what had happened. The feed cut to her walking through the palace halls, and she seemed to have noticed something was off, but she couldn’t tell what.
The closer she got to her mother’s wing, the more uneasy she felt. There seemed to be fewer people in the halls, like the place was lifeless. Marcia let her to the door, and as soon as it opened, Li Yu was grabbed by the collar.
"Ohhh, damn," Li Jun exclaimed. His father had beaten him up before, but it was only in his madness. When his father was in his right mind, the most punishment he would get when he did wrong was training.
Xiu Ying was unrestrained. Seeing this, you wouldn’t think she was hitting her daughter. At some point, Li Jun kinda felt bad for her. But when he thought of how this woman was willing to smuggle a deadly plasma gun into the palace to kill him, he didn’t feel as bad.
