While Li Jun was glaring at his grandpa, his butt throbbing from the three injections that mad doctor had administered to him, Xiu Ying was waiting for the good news. She was expecting a raucous on Starnet with headlines like the disgraceful Imperial Prince found selling Chronos with a barrage of comments disparaging him.
She was sitting cross-legged on the side of a red pool, dressed thinly. Her eyes were shut as though she was meditating but in truth, she was recalling all the hard work and manipulation it took her to get here. Li Jun was the only hurdle in her way and she could finally have everything that she wanted.
Faint flapping sounds reached her ears. She didn’t immediately open her eyes. She simply asked, "Is it done?"
The man with his face hidden in a hooded cloak knelt on one knee and said, "My apologies, your majesty, Minister Lorino failed to complete the mission." Xiu Ying’s chest rose and fell in anger.
She got up swiftly and grabbed the very same blade Li Mingze used to slaughter people in his madness and pointed the tip at his throat, her aura dark and sinister. She looked nothing like the kind and loving Imperial Queen she portrayed to Aurelia. She now resembled a vengeful spirit here to devour people’s souls.
The man who was on his knees trembled in fear as he kept his head bowed. His life flashed before his very eyes, sweat dripping down his forehead. He feared that his pathetic life was going to end right here. Xiu Ying sneered and said, "Get the fuck out of my face. You only have one more chance. If you fail next time, I will kill your family and make you watch as the life drains from their eyes."
He bowed deeply and said, "Thank you for your kindness, Your Majesty. I won’t disappoint you again." She threw the sword away and with a clatter it fell to the ground.
She glared at the man’s still shaking back, her gaze so piercing it felt like a thousand knives were slicing his back. She said, "Why are you still here! Get lost!" The man didn’t need to be told thrice. He shuffled to his feet and scurried out. As soon as he was gone, she said, "System, didn’t you say it would work?" through gritted teeth. Each time she got help from this system, the price was heavy but what did she get in the end?
The system said, "The strategies I give you are purely based on a high percentage of success, but it can never be 100%. There is always a margin of error."
Xiu Ying lost her temper instantly. With a crazed look in her eyes, she yelled, "Then give me a fucking solution that will kill him in one go and end this fuss," the veins on her neck and temples throbbing.
The system responded in her mind, saying, "Your impatience is the reason that you die in the first place. Li Jun is the blessed son of heaven and will not easily be defeated. You need to cut all of his lifelines to prevent him from rising from the ashes."
Xiu Ying knew all of this. She had lived it and each time the result was the fucking same. It was only when she started listening to the system that there was some progress. For the system to help her, the price was heavy. It had to siphon energy from someone with a great destiny. Thus, Haku Ume, those officials and the madman Li Mingze, it was all her doing. Now her new target was Draco, but she could only get close to him through Li Jun.
She calmed down, taking long, deep breaths. She slipped her dress off, revealing her flawless, slender figure and stepped into the pool, her movements slow and deliberate. She said, "What is the next move then?"
"Be patient, when it’s time, I will tell you," the system replied in her mind.

The sun was already mid-high in the sky when Li Jun walked into the nightclub. He had spent a night with his grandpa being a menace. Mainly because he didn’t want to come to a bedroom that had been overturned and destroyed. He had changed into a simple black t-shirt and jeans, making him appear more youthful and less intimidating.
When he walked into the nightclub, it was cleaned spotless. Too bad he was about to dirty it all over again. He ran his fingers through his hair, his lips curled into a sinister smile. He said, "Where is he?"
Yan Jia, who had just walked over to welcome him back, said, "He is in the walk-in freezer."
Li Jun gestured with his hand, saying, "Bring him to me." Yan Jia saw the look in those eyes, and she knew that someone was dying today. He sat in the chair his men brought for him his posture languid yet oppressive.
Yan Jia brought the man who was shivering from the cold over and with a loud bang, she slammed him to the ground. Who was this man? He was the one who put the drugs in his nightclub, intending to frame him. It was obvious he was instructed by someone to do this and Li Jun already knew who. This man was a convicted criminal who served his time for armed robbery. He came here begging for a job and Li Jun allowed it.
And why would he agree to someone with such a shady past to work at the nightclub? It was because that’s what Blue Sapphire did. As long as someone didn’t commit murder or crimes against women and children, they would give them a second chance.
This world wasn’t so welcoming of anyone with a criminal background. They would end up going back to committing crimes, or they would be on the streets begging.
This was how his grandfather ended up with the best foot soldiers who were loyal to a fault. But just because they gave second chances, it didn’t mean that if you betray them, there would be no consequences. Li Jun, his legs spread apart with a plasma gun in his hand, asked, "Are you going to talk or should I make you?"
