Chapter 10: Rabid dog
Yu Wen stormed out of the nightclub, seething in anger. Blood was still pouring out where he had been bitten and it hurt like hell. Li Jun was especially ruthless. Like a mad dog, he bit down hard and didn’t let go. If it weren’t for Alex and Yu Xuan interfering, he was certain that Li Jun would have bitten off a piece of flesh.
Alex caught up and said, "There is a medical van there. You should get it looked at," his voice filled with worry. Yu Wen didn’t think such an injury needed medical attention. He had been injured so many times on the battlefield and most of them were life-threatening. Thus, this bite was nothing to him, just gross.
He said, "No need," his tone carrying a chill.
Alex knew he wouldn’t take this matter seriously but that bite was nasty and it was likely to leave a scar if not taken care of. "It will leave a scar if left untreated," he said and as expected, Yu Wen turned, changing direction. He sat down at the back of the medical truck,= and the medic on duty excitedly greeted him.
"It’s unfortunate that we had to meet under such circumstances," he said as he put on his gloves with a sycophantic smile, having met his hero. Yu Wen hummed in response and the man said, "Let’s see what we have here."
When he saw that nasty-looking bite, his brows furrowed as he asked, "Did they have a beast in the club. Whatever did this was determined to take a chunk of your flesh. We might need to catch the beast and test it for any viruses."
Hearing this, Yu Wen pursed his lips, his hands resting on his thigh, clenching. He swore the next time he saw Li Jun, he was going to bite him back. The man, seeing that he hadn’t responded, said, "General."
Alex, who was looking for a hole to crawl into and hide, finally interjected, saying, "It’s a person."
The medic, "..."
"A person did this? Do they have rabies or something? Fuck, they really wanted to mark you for life," he said, wiping the blood that had crusted off his neck.
Yu Wen, through gritted teeth, said, "He doesn’t have rabies, but he sure acts like a rabid dog." Just then, Commander Takumi walked over and when he saw the injury on Yu Wen’s neck, he was surprised.
Unaware that he was stepping on a landmine, he asked, "Who did that to you?"
Yu Wen ignored him. It was Alex who whispered, "His Highness." Takumi’s jaw dropped. Why would a civil person do such a barbaric thing? An even more puzzling question was how Li Jun managed to get that close to bite him?
"Will it scar?" asked Yu Wen and the medic shook his head, looking at the teeth marks that were deep.
He said, "You will need to get scar removal treatment after it heals." Yu Wen nodded. He had countless scars on his body and he had never bothered to treat them. But this scar he was definitely going to get it removed. He didn’t want to have that on his body for the rest of his life.
While the general was getting treated, Li Jun was lying on the couch with his forearm covering his eyes. He was still pissed about what happened tonight and he wasn’t going to let any of them off. He wanted to find whoever plotted against him and pay them back tenfold.
He swallowed his saliva mixed with blood and licked his teeth, recalling how he sank his choppers in that bastard’s neck. He clicked his tongue, regretting not taking a chunk of flesh as a keepsake. While he was reminiscing on the sweet memories of biting the mighty general, he actually fell asleep.
After an hour and a half, he was woken up by the sound of his phone ringing. Li Jun opened his eyes and looked at the caller ID. A smile crept up his face as he declined it and got up to leave. He didn’t even bother to put on a shirt. Wearing his open robe, he walked out and found Yan Jia and Yu Xuan leaning against the door. When the door opened, they almost fell in. They were so embarrassed but Li Jun pretended not to see it.
"I am going out," he said, walking past them.
Yan Jia caught up with him and said, "Your Highness, at least change into something else. It’s chilly outside."
Li Jun stepped into the elevator, saying, "No need."
Yu Xuan slipped into the elevator with the two of them and asked, "Don’t you want to get your injuries looked at?"
Now that Yu Xuan mentioned it, Li Jun felt the pain. He said, "I will get it looked at while I am out."
Yu Xuan said, "Then I will go with you."
The elevator doors opened, and Li Jun walked out while saying, "No, I will go by myself. You two make sure this place is clean by the time I come back. Oh, by the way, send the bill for the damages to the general. He should pay for this shit."
After saying that, he walked out into the cold night. The street was almost empty, with only a few drunks left hanging around. He turned left and began to walk in a certain direction, passing a black car parked on the side of the road.
Inside that very car, Yu Wen was sitting there waiting. He had stayed behind watching for any further movements. Just when he thought he was wasting his time, he saw Li Jun walking out with his chest exposed for all to see. He looked like he was in a hurry. What Yu Wen found even more bizarre was that he was walking. With his identity walking out was not only unsafe for himself but for others if he was recognized.
Yu Wen got out of the car and followed him at a distance. Li Jun didn’t walk that far. He took two turns before stopping at a building with pink neon lights shaped like the silhouette of a naked woman swinging her leg while holding a martini glass. The place was called Club Euphoria.
The door was opened for him and sounds of slow music spilled into the street. Yu Wen, who was standing in the shadows watching, took out his phone and checked Club Euphoria. His expression turned to that of disgust. Li Jun was truly a debauched person with a corrupt moral character. With this kind of behavior, if Aurelia fell into his hands, everything their ancestors worked hard and fought for would rot from the core.
What was Club Euphoria? It was a private orgy club infamous for hosting large sex parties. And Li Jun had just walked in with no hesitation. Yu Wen frowned in disgust before turning to walk back.
