Chapter 41: Girl’s Night Out

It was true that Minnie was a maid. Her family had served the Royal Pack for generations. Hence, Minnie’s first memory in this world was already tied to work—work for the Royal Pack.

Because Minnie was around the same age as Lynsandra, she had been stationed to stay with the princess.

That was how the two of them became like sisters.

That was right.

In Lynsandra’s eyes, Minnie was more than just a maid—others might call her that, but Lynsandra never did. Minnie was her sister. And if anyone had ever treated Minnie horribly, Lynsandra had always been quick to protect her, regardless of rank or consequence.

"Lizzie, aren’t you in a good mood?" Minnie hummed as she turned slightly in her seat to look at the driver. "I was worried when I heard about the selection, but it seems..."

She trailed off, studying Lynsandra more closely before narrowing her eyes.

"You’re glowing," Minnie said flatly. "Are you having threesomes?"

"Huh?" Lynsandra blinked.

"That’s the only explanation I could think of."

"I’m glowing because you’re back," Lynsandra pouted slightly, glancing at her, "and Virgo is not fun. He’s becoming stricter nowadays."

"He probably wants a salary increase."

"Also," Lynsandra continued, sighing softly, "being surrounded by men all the time is a little suffocating. I miss having you around."

Minnie, however, had already lost interest in the conversation. Her attention sparkled elsewhere as she admired the gold adorning her arms and fingers, turning her wrist slowly to watch the light reflect off each piece.

"Yes, yes, I miss you too," she answered halfheartedly.

Glancing at her, Lynsandra let out a shallow laugh and returned her focus to the road.

"Ah, right!" Minnie suddenly snapped out of her trance and turned toward the driver’s seat. "Lizzie, these things are mine, right?"

"Mhm."

"No salary deduction?"

"You dealt with those people and came to a peaceful agreement instead of a total wipeout," Lynsandra hummed. "I’m sure even the Alpha King wouldn’t mind."

Minnie beamed instantly, her eyes glittering brighter than the gold she wore.

For a while, she simply admired her growing collection of "souvenirs," mentally adding them to her ever-expanding hoard. If Lynsandra kept sending her to places she didn’t want to go, Minnie was convinced she could retire early and live a life of luxury.

"I hope more people hate her," she prayed quietly under her breath. "So I can keep exploiting them under the guise of peace talks."

Lynsandra shook her head fondly, letting Minnie be Minnie.

"Hm?" Minnie suddenly perked up, peering at the road ahead. "Lizzie, where are we going?"

When she turned back toward the driver’s seat, all she saw was Lynsandra’s lips curled into a mischievous smirk. Lynsandra slid her eyes sideways toward her and chuckled, making a small clicking sound with her tongue against her teeth.

"Cheers!" Lynsandra shouted as she clinked her glass against Minnie’s.

"Cheers!" Minnie echoed, chugging her drink happily.

Both of them hissed in satisfaction as they slammed their shot glasses onto the bar counter. Music boomed around them—people danced, laughed, and shouted, glasses clinking as the entire place pulsed with life.

"Lizzie!" Minnie yelled, leaning closer to be heard over the music. "Don’t drink too much! We’re both lightweights!"

Lynsandra giggled, blending seamlessly into the crowd.

"I’m not a lightweight anymore!" she yelled back. "Just watch!"

She raised a hand to catch the bartender’s attention and held up two fingers. The bartender smiled knowingly and nodded, soon sliding another round of drinks toward them.

Lynsandra picked up both glasses and handed one to Minnie.

"Minnie, don’t worry!" she shouted. "I’ll take us both home!"

"I don’t believe you!" Minnie yelled back, though she took the glass anyway.

They grinned widely, teeth on full display, before chugging their shots in one go.

This was exactly why Lynsandra had been excited to have Minnie back. When Minnie was around, Virgo loosened his grip. He would worry—maybe even search for them—but as long as they didn’t stay out too long, he’d let it slide.

And if Virgo wasn’t around, that meant Lynsandra had no escort.

In other words, Minnie was her golden ticket to freedom.

Minnie had known her since childhood—knew her better than the Luna knew herself. Around Minnie, Lynsandra didn’t need to be perfect. She didn’t need to perform or keep up appearances. Through Minnie, she could taste normalcy again, even if only briefly.

Minnie didn’t care what Lynsandra said or thought. She wouldn’t even register most of it.

All that mattered to Minnie was money.

"Wow, wow, wow..." Minnie’s eyes widened as she stared at the small pyramid of shot glasses lined up before them.

Meanwhile, already intoxicated, Lynsandra nodded enthusiastically.

"This is gonna make me throw up," Minnie said, shooting Lynsandra a wary look. "I’m not drinking it."

Lynsandra smirked and flicked a finger upward. "I’m giving you one extra paid leave."

"You said it!" Minnie shouted like a battle cry. "Just you watch!"

Without hesitation, she grabbed the first glass and chugged it down.

As for Lynsandra, she happily worked through her own little pyramid. Her cheeks flushed pink, eyes squinting as she laughed nonstop. For the first time since arriving in this place, she forgot everything—her position, her responsibilities, the harem, all of it.

Minnie reached for her final glass when something caught her eye. Her brows twitched as she turned slightly, spotting a familiar face moving through the crowd.

There—across the bar counter—was Victor, scanning the area as if searching for someone.

"...," Minnie sobered instantly. She shot Lynsandra a sharp look, wordlessly downed her last drink, and slammed the glass onto the counter.

"Lizzie, you said it!"

"Huh?"

"Stay here," Minnie hissed, covering her mouth. "Stay—I’ll be back!"

Without waiting, Minnie hopped off her stool and disappeared into the crowd. Lynsandra was left alone, staring at the empty seat beside her.

"Well," she shrugged, focusing back on her drink. She giggled softly. "Lightweight."

Even so, Lynsandra knew she couldn’t drink anymore.

"I wonder how we’re going to get home," she murmured, laughing at herself. For once, she truly had no idea.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the club, Victor squeezed politely through the crowd.

"Excuse me," he muttered, reaching the staircase leading to the second floor. But just before ascending, he instinctively turned his head.

His eyes landed on a familiar figure at the bar.

Under flashing lights and pounding music, Victor narrowed his gaze. Slowly, recognition dawned, and his breathing stilled.

"Lizzie?" he whispered, the lines on his face deepening. "Is that... Lynsandra?"
