Chapter 260: Chapter 142: The Evil Spirit Calamity Rages Across the Starry Sky
The Star Track Ceremony Tower.
This was the key strategic anchor that allowed the Star Remnant Divine Kingdom to maintain its foothold on the Star Trace Spirit Realm Battlefield.
Powerful Transcendents from other Divine Kingdoms had also joined forces to attack the Star Remnant Divine Kingdom’s Star Track Ceremony Tower in the past.
But every attempt had ended in failure.
The sheer strength of the Star Track Ceremony Tower’s barriers was enough to drive anyone to despair.
It was impossible even for an enemy to sneak inside and wreak havoc.
Once the Tower Gate was closed, any enemies inside would be trapped like fish in a barrel.
The Divine Mage, Frank, was stationed on the 42nd floor of the towering Star Track Ceremony Tower. After speaking with several of the patrol teams outside, his gaze fell upon the scene below, just in time to see a few of the Star Remnant Divine Kingdom’s more capable Transcendents returning to the tower.
That Evil Spirit Wizard had gone deep into hiding recently; not even the slightest trace of him had been seen.
’He was clearly intimidated by our Star Track Ceremony Tower’s attacks.’
’He’s too scared to even show his face.’
This state of affairs left Frank, the Divine Mage, feeling quite satisfied.
After all, that Evil Spirit Wizard had killed a Divine Blood Berserker and, even worse, had escaped from the pursuit of one of their Divine Kingdom’s own squads.
This was, without a doubt, a challenge to the authority of their Divine Kingdom.
But fortunately, the prolonged hunt had made that Evil Spirit Wizard pay the price he deserved.
’The great dignity of our Divine Kingdom will not be challenged by anyone!’
’And any who dare to challenge it shall suffer Divine Punishment!’
...
「Star Track Ceremony Tower, 21st Floor.」
Inside one of the rooms.
After setting down the Steam Magical Cottage, Akelo followed the grand conduit of Faith to respectfully report,
"Master, we have entered the Star Track Ceremony Tower."
"Well done. Maintain your current status. I am about to initiate a high-intensity Catastrophe Ceremony."
His master’s divine oracle echoed in his mind, making Akelo feel all the more devout and reverent.
After more than half a year of secluded training, Zorn’s power had reached an entirely new level.
And so, he had begun his plan for revenge.
Zorn knew that the Star Track Ceremony Tower’s entrance, the Tower Gate, possessed methods to detect whether a person was enslaved or imprisoned.
These methods were effective against the typical forced-enslavement techniques used by Wizards.
However, they were unlikely to be effective against Zorn’s methods, which fundamentally altered a person from the depths of their soul and will.
Zorn had first sent in one of the Transcendents who originally belonged to the Star Remnant Divine Kingdom as a test.
As a result, that Transcendent arrived safely back with the Star Remnant Divine Kingdom.
Furthermore, for a full week, nothing unusual happened.
Since the Star Track Ceremony Tower was unable to detect the Evil Spirit Wizard’s methods, Zorn immediately drew up his plan.
He would have one of the Star Remnant Divine Kingdom’s Transcendents carry the Magical Cottage into the Star Track Ceremony Tower.
Meanwhile, Zorn and his other followers would hide inside the Magical Cottage.
So far, the plan had been executed perfectly.
Even if the plan failed, Zorn could still use his Spiritual Realm to take the Magical Cottage and escape from this place through Death and Resurrection.
But if it succeeded... that would be an entirely different story.
"Master, according to the information I’ve gathered, there are currently around 36 Transcendents inside the Star Track Ceremony Tower," Akelo explained to Zorn.
"Including you, Master, there are only nine of us."
"I know you are incredibly powerful, Master, but... there are a lot of enemies."
"I’m worried..."
Zorn replied slowly,
"Don’t worry..."
"The power of the Evil Spirit Calamity will render their numbers almost useless."
"Yes, Master!"
Zorn was now Level 10.
A Level 10 Evil Spirit Calamity was highly lethal to other Level 10 Transcendents.
Although the top-tier Transcendents in the Starry Sky Tower possessed immense power and deep foundations and could certainly withstand it for a long time, they would still be affected and significantly suppressed.
Most critically, within the environment of an Evil Spirit Calamity, Zorn’s overall power would be drastically boosted.
Zorn was already Level 10 and had mastered two great Ancient God Curses.
Now, bathed in the environment of an Evil Spirit Calamity, the power of the techniques Zorn could unleash would reach the threshold of the Upper Rank Level.
Upper Rank Level destructive power.
It was enough to slaughter every Transcendent in this place.
In a surprise encounter with little preparation, it was difficult for an Evil Spirit Wizard to unleash their full power.
But in a battle like this, one that had been carefully prepared, once the stage was set...
...once the Evil Spirit Calamity was unleashed, everything would be completely different.
...
A few hours later.
The Level 10 Evil Spirit Calamity was ready.
Meanwhile, Zorn’s eight Believers were also poised to strike.
They had all refined a certain amount of Calamity Black Mist, making them immune to the effects of the Evil Spirit Calamity.
They alone would be more than enough to give the suppressed Transcendents a world of trouble.
Inside the Steam Magical Cottage, Zorn sensed the Catastrophe Ceremony for the Evil Spirit Calamity, now fully formed.
After running through his plan one last time,
’Evil Spirit Calamity! Activate!’
RUMBLE...
A massive vortex of Evil Spirits began to bloom rapidly on the lowest level of the Star Track Ceremony Tower.
Vast amounts of Calamity Black Mist poured out like a raging flood.
It then began to spread relentlessly upward from the first floor.
The second floor, the third floor, the fourth floor...
Zorn and his followers didn’t act rashly, instead waiting for the Catastrophe Power to spread further.
Only when the Calamity Black Mist had spread far enough would Zorn be able to make his move effectively.
