Chapter 1787: Chapter 1787: The Coffee Powder Tastes Off
The man in the suit didn’t expect the other party to even want to see the coffee grounds.
Everyone in the circle knows that this investment genius loves coffee. Some bosses who want investment would choose the best coffee beans to visit him, only to be criticized for the beans being of too low grade each time.
Rarely do coffee beans catch his eye, and if they do, then the investment is secured.
Could this coffee ground possibly catch his eye too?
The man in the suit was puzzled but still showed them to him.
Qin Xin pinched a bit of coffee ground between his thumb and finger, rubbing it to feel the rough texture.
He placed the coffee grounds in his palm, clasped his hands together, slightly warming them with the heat of his hands to release the fragrance, and then brought it to his nose to smell.
The inferior coffee grounds had a pungent smell, seemingly mixed with other substances.
Qin Xin frowned and said faintly, "I won’t drink it."
The man in the suit had already guessed when Qin Xin frowned that the genius couldn’t possibly take a sip.
Qin Xin turned and left, the suited man quickly followed, continuing his job as a tail and tour guide.
Qin Xin discreetly wiped the excess coffee grounds from his fingertips onto his clothes pocket.
Little Taotie looked around, "Where did Second Brother go?"
Hua Jinyan: "He probably went off to handle something."
Little Taotie sulked, "If there’s really a problem here, won’t Second Brother lose money?"
Hua Jinyan laughed, "Does he really care about that little money?"
Little Taotie pouted, "Even a dollar is still money, you shouldn’t ignore it just because it’s less. If it were given to me, I could donate it to the elderly and children in disaster-stricken areas so they could have a good meal."
"Do you want my money?" Qin Xin was suddenly standing behind her, unknown to her.
Little Taotie quickly turned around, lunging to hug Qin Xin, "Second Brother!"
It was as if Qin Xin had been imprisoned and was just released after serving his sentence, she was so excited.
In Little Taotie’s mind, Qin Xin had already gone through being captured and then released.
She originally thought her Second Brother had broken the law and had planned that once he was imprisoned, she’d occasionally visit him and bring him food.
Later, she learned that Second Brother was just a shareholder and might have just invested a little, which relieved her from having to take meals to him in the cell.
The suited man was left behind; it was just Qin Xin now.
Little Taotie peeked her head, "There seemed to be someone following you earlier. Why aren’t they around now?"
Qin Xin smiled, "I found a bit of trouble for him, he’s probably busy now."
"What kind of trouble?" Little Taotie leaned in and gestured for Qin Xin to whisper to her.
Qin Xin chuckled, then leaned in to whisper, "Released some mice in the drink room."
Having noticed something odd with the coffee in the drink room, he took a trip to the restroom, pretending to take a dump, and sent a text message out from the stall.
Though he seemed to come alone, he’d actually secretly sent some underlings there, most pretended to be contestants signing up.
He instructed a few clever ones to find a way to sneak into the drink room for samples.
One clever guy, who unknown to everyone caught a few mice somewhere, scared some girls into screaming, hence the suited man, being the event organizer, had to go handle the urgent situation.
"Here you go." Qin Xin’s hand held a black bag, and he directly handed it to Hua Jinyan.
Hua Jinyan accepted it, feeling it had some weight, hearing the sound of swishing water.
"Once you’re registered, leave, don’t linger," Qin Xin advised.
Since they’d been in contact with Qin Xin, they’d long been targeted.
Hua Jinyan and Little Taotie exchanged looks, Little Taotie obediently nodded, "Then we’ll head back first. Bye, Second Brother."
Once out of the hall, Little Taotie eagerly asked, "What’s inside, what’s in the bag?"
Hua Jinyan helplessly said, "We’ll look at it in the car."
