Chapter 1625: Morpheus

Within the Universe Ocean, many terrifying beings capable of bringing universes to their knees sensed the horror unfolding within the Primus Universe, and, like Dormamu and the white-armoured being, they each felt the looming threat.

Standing atop the enormous trunk of a tree, perhaps larger than entire galaxies, was a man with flowing black hair and a pair of red dragon horns protruding from his forehead.

He was clad in an exo-armour, the kind that could withstand the full blast of a doomsday weapon without leaving so much as a scratch.

The man appeared to be in his forties, and judging by his aura and the mere fact that he stood within the Primordial Chaos relax and virtually unbothered, it was clear his power far surpassed what anyone could imagine.

This man was the Dragon Ancestor, Marvos.

He once stood as a pillar of power upon whom the universe could rely. Today, as he gazed at the universe that he, alongside a few friends, had tried to save during the Third Reincarnation Cycle, a smile formed on his face.

"It is finally happening, huh?" He turned slightly to his left and spoke almost as though he were addressing someone standing beside him.

"Looks like we have to speed up our plans, Raziel."

Several million light-years away, a man with golden hair, a lean body, three eyes, and a handsome appearance looked back at Marvos and smiled.

"It appears so. You could always count on Lord Paragon to find ways to stir up trouble."

The Beast God, or as he had once been known across the Universe when he served as its guardian, Raziel replied with his hands clasped behind his back as he walked across the vast and treacherous Primordial Chaos, travelling several million light-years with each step.

He was one of the deadliest Leviathans ever to walk the face of the Primus Universe.

"Indeed," Marvos shook his head and laughed. "You’d better hurry, Raziel, and get to those old bastards. While we cannot fight the battles of the Primus Universe, we cannot afford to lose the one that will take place here."

"We won’t. At the very least, we will sustain some casualties, but allowing those bastards to take advantage of the Great Catastrophe this time around won’t happen. We cannot fail, and I have no intention of failing this time around."

"Good. I will contact you when I get to the Eastern Outer Region," Marvos said before summoning his dragon wings and flying away in a hurry.

He estimated that the danger threatening the Primus Universe would arrive sooner than he had initially expected, so he had to hurry.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, an Elven man with a youthful appearance, crimson hair, and deep crimson eyes also looked toward the Primus Universe, a strange expression lingering in his eyes.

He was Khurshid, the Crimson Tyrant, the one who had led the universe during the First Reincarnation Cycle. Looking at him closely, it was plain as day that he was far stronger than both the Dragon Ancestor and the Beast God combined.

After standing there quietly for a few minutes, he sighed.

"It is finally happening again."

It was as if he had witnessed moments like this many times in the past, so the moment he sensed the power coming from the Primus Universe, he knew his days of peace were about to end.

During the First Reincarnation Cycle, he was merely an Elven Prince who loved peace more than anything.

However, when it became clear to him that peace was no longer an option, he picked up his bow and went on to lead a generation of warriors into battle.

In the end, they lost, but he managed to save as many as he could and found a place for them within the Primordial Chaos. Since then, he had been guarding the borders of the reincarnated Primus Universe.

Years later, he watched it get destroyed again, and then a third time. Now, he had started to see the signs, but all he could do was sigh.

"Khurshid, are you seeing what I am seeing?" Suddenly, much like the conversation between the Beast God and the Dragon Ancestor, a voice entered the Crimson Tyrant’s ears.

He turned to his right, and far in the distance, his eyes landed on another redhead like himself, but with much messier hair and scars covering his skin. He was bare-chested and wielded a large broadsword drenched in blood.

Seeing the messy state this figure was in, the Crimson Tyrant smiled and shook his head.

"I can see the same thing, Morpheus. And what are you doing in the domain of the Blood Clan?"

Far away, Morpheus, or as he had been known during the Second Reincarnation Cycle, the Vampire God, smiled and slashed his sword, causing the blood coating it to splash across the ground.

"What do you think I am doing here, Khurshid?" Morpheus laughed.

"Why did I even bother asking?" the Crimson Tyrant sighed before continuing, "Were you able to locate that being? Now that the cycle is coming to an end, we must find him before things get out of hand."

"I haven’t yet, but I am getting closer to a map that apparently leads to a place where I might find traces of him."

"That is good, Morpheus. I can sense Raziel is on his way here, and knowing him, he will try to head for the frontline."

Morpheus smirked.

"Well, he has always been like that, even before he failed to save the Third Reincarnation Cycle. However, his enthusiasm is exactly what we need right now. With him having the heart of a guardian, I am sure that even if we can’t prevent a sabotage, we can at least lessen its impact for Lord Paragon."

"I suppose you are right. However, all life as we know it depends on whether or not the Primus Universe can become a Primal Universe this time. Failure is not an option, so hasten your slaughter and make sure you don’t die. The Primordial Chaos Dragon must be located before the cycle comes to an end."

Morpheus laughed out loud, his voice travelling far and wide, sending chills down the spines of anyone who heard it.

"I fought in a Great Catastrophe, Khurshid, and sustained not even a single fatal wound. Do you think small flies like these bugs can do anything to me?"

He laughed again and turned his gaze toward a red vortex that was rapidly approaching him.

"Time to get back to business, Khurshid. I will contact you when I find something concrete."

He smiled and took off, approaching the vortex at a speed that transcended common sense. A few seconds later, fifteen people, each with an overwhelming blood aura, emerged through the vortex, locking their bloodshot eyes onto Morpheus.

"Madman, haven’t you had enough of your rampage?" one of them asked, his killing intent distorting the space around him.

Morpheus laughed and narrowed his eyes at him.

"Excuse me, mister, but why ask when you already know I never run out of good old-fashioned slaughter? Or did you think your actions during the Third Reincarnation Cycle of my universe wouldn’t be discovered?"

"Your universe?" the man who spoke laughed. "Bastard, it stopped being your universe the moment you failed to defend it, so stop speaking as if you still care."

Morpheus grinned before pulling a mask from nowhere to cover his mouth and nose.

"In that case, I am just here to kill you losers for no reason," he said, and the fifteen people also made their move.

But only a few minutes into the battle, it became painfully clear who would be walking away alive and completely unscathed.
