Chapter 213: Origin
The Origin.
Unlike Noctis’s complete form, the Saintess’s own was quite different. It was the reason why she was loved by spirits.
Whenever she tapped into this form, she became a literal origin of mana, a being that all mana was formed from.
It was a form that wasn’t much unlike the goal project Prometheus was hoping to achieve.
How she unlocked it was never clearly explained, but Adrian was certain that it was the only reason the church chose her as a Saintess.
Or perhaps, there was another reason.
This form allowed her to produce any element she desired without the need for a contracted spirit.
No, rather than not needing spirits, it was more accurate to say that all were spirits born within her, which allowed them to temporarily become one.
Adrian, meanwhile, had a frown on his face as he looked at the screen.
This was a form that wasn’t supposed to show up just yet, even with the timeline and events having been messed up this much.
Or perhaps, he had grossly underestimated her growth within that dungeon since he hadn’t been there to witness it.
"It seems I wasn’t the only one to unlock a new form," Darius muttered before looking towards Adrian again, "Do you still think Lady Renelle can win?"
"After all, if that form makes her even half as strong as I was during mine," he continued, "then it’s going to be a tough fight."
There was silence between the two for a while before Adrian muttered, "She’s stronger. "
"Hmm?" Darius asked.
"The Saintess’s Origin form is a lot stronger than your incomplete form."
"Is that so?" Darius muttered as he looked back at the screen; his thoughts were pretty obvious.
He wanted to fight the Saintess, just to see exactly by how much he was behind.
"But my lady still wins," Adrian then added as he also turned towards the screen.

Back on the arena floor, Noelle looked down at her hand with obvious surprise.
Even she hadn’t expected to activate whatever power she just did. All she knew was that she had been feeling a certain pull, and she finally let it pull her.
Right now, she felt as if she was being overloaded, and if she didn’t find a way to release the quickly accumulating power,
She’d explode.....literally.
So, she looked at her opponent from across her, patiently waiting.
Instead of waiting patiently, it was more accurate to say that she was quite surprised at seeing this form again.
If Noelle had already unlocked it, that meant she had just caught up to her S-rank self in Renelle’s previous timeline at A-Rank.
"Now then," Renelle pulled the attention of Noelle towards her, "if you’re done, shall we continue. "
Noelle noticed that her opponent didn’t seem even slightly curious about her glowing eyes and hair; somehow, she could only nod, "hmm."
With that, she suddenly made a move, using lightning, she quickly closed the distance faster than she ever could.
Noelle felt as if she was now one with the elements themselves...which was exactly the case.
Due to this, her limitation of being able to use two elements at a time was eliminated.
Though she very clearly knew that she was now on a timer, and if she didn’t quickly end this, she’d lose.
When she got close enough to her opponent, Noelle launched a blast of flames from her palm.
The flames crashed into Renelle, but Noelle couldn’t help but frown. After all, she noticed her opponent’s skin going deathly pale just before the flames landed.
Which was the opposite of what she expected; after all, she was certain that Renelle would put up an ice wall just before the attack could reach her.
Instead, she seemed to just stand there, frozen, as the flames completely enveloped her.
Noelle’s instincts suddenly screamed at her, forcing her to move just in time to avoid a large ice shard falling from above.
After recovering, the saintess turned towards her attacker, only to realize that Renelle was standing quite a distance away from where she previously was.
Which should’ve been impossible, since Noelle had been watching her the entire time.
She hadn’t looked away from her even once.
Still, since she couldn’t figure out what just happened, Noelle chose to ignore it for now.
After all, the timer was quickly running.
She suddenly launched, covering every position Renelle could reasonably move, including her original position.
But a moment before the lightning reached its intended target, Renelle’s skin suddenly went pale again, and Noelle finally had the chance to understand what had happened.
BOOM!
The lightning crashed into Renelle, but instead of blocking or trying to form an ice structure to counter the attack, she simply....shattered?
Noelle watched with wide eyes as she shattered into multiple ice pieces.
But before she could say anything, her instincts suddenly alerted her to danger, forcing her to quickly turn around and put up an earth wall.
Unfortunately, an ice shard suddenly passed through the wall and hit her flight on the shoulder.
Within seconds, the Saintess’s left arm was completely encased in ice. The sudden attack disrupted her concentration, causing the earth wall she had been maintaining to crumble.
"H-how did you––" Noelle couldn’t help but ask as she looked at the approaching Renelle.
"My boyfriend has a pretty awesome mana type," She said in response, only to freeze as she realized what she just said.
"I–I mean, my butler," Renelle quickly tried to correct herself, "my butler’s mana is awesome. "
"...."
Anyway, what Renelle had just done was borrow Adrian’s shadow mana, thanks to the bracelet.
Every time her opponent launched an attack, she’d just create an ice clone at the last second, before teleporting and repositioning herself.
Noelle might’ve caught up to her S-rank self, but so had Renelle.
She then stopped directly in front of the Saintess before asking, "Shall we continue?"
Noelle looked at her before her glowing eyes and hair suddenly faded as she let out a sigh, "I surrender. "
"LADY RENELLE WINS."
