Chapter 2011: Chapter 2011: Two Sisters Fancy Two Brothers (6)
Jiaojiao and Duan Xi sat in the second car, occasionally looking up at the road ahead and lowering their heads to send messages.
Around seven-thirty, they arrived at the hotel. As the car doors opened and ten boys over six feet tall surrounded Jiaojiao in the middle and walked toward the hotel entrance, the onlookers couldn’t help but exclaim in awe.
The nine brothers of the Ruan Family were all so striking in appearance; usually, it’s rare to see even one of them, but now all ten were gathered together, wearing matching black suits. The visual impact was truly stunning.
Standing amidst these outstanding boys, Jiaojiao made the girls watching enviously jealous.
If the boys were likened to green leaves, Jiaojiao would be the single delicate flower among them, making others both envious and jealous.
Jiaojiao wasn’t aware that today she once again became a source of envy and jealousy; she was immersed in the joy of her brother marrying and had been smiling happily since getting out of the car, excited and thrilled.
They followed the group to Hong Ping’s temporary bridal room.
According to Yuansu customs, when picking up the bride, the bride’s relatives of the same generation would make things difficult for the groom’s side as a playful tradition. However, the Hong Family only came as a family of three and Hong Ling, an unmarried daughter, couldn’t sensibly engage with the groomsmen, so this tradition was skipped. Before carrying Hong Ping away, a ceremonial promise was made kneeled before the bride’s parents.
After the promises, Ruan Jun, amid the cheering from his brothers, carried the blushing, teary-eyed Hong Ping and walked outward.
The hotel corridor wasn’t wide, only three could walk side by side. Ruan Jun led with Hong Ping in his arms, followed by Ruan Hao, Jiaojiao, and Duan Xi. Jiaojiao was keeping an eye on Ruan Jun’s footsteps, noticing he almost stepped on Hong Ping’s dress several times. She couldn’t help but feel worried and just bent down to help lift the dress; suddenly, Hong Ling ran forward from behind and squeezed between her and Ruan Hao.
In the already narrow corridor, with Jiaojiao bent over, she was hit on the side and instinctively staggered forward; she almost fell headlong to the ground. Luckily, Duan Xi quickly wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her back.
Even so, Jiaojiao was considerably frightened; a direct fall would have been utterly embarrassing!
After pulling Jiaojiao back, Duan Xi cast a sharp look at Hong Ling, who was also a bit startled.
Hong Ling was unnerved by Duan Xi’s gaze, repeatedly apologizing, "I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to. Jiaojiao, are you okay?"
"What happened?" Ruan Jun turned back in concern, noticing Jiaojiao’s slightly pale face. "Jiaojiao, are you feeling unwell?"
In Duan Xi’s embrace, Jiaojiao shook her head quickly and smiled, "Brother Jun, it’s nothing, really." She bent down to pick up Hong Ping’s skirt from the floor, saying, "I’m helping with sister-in-law’s wedding dress, you just keep walking forward."
Ruan Jun’s gaze shifted between Jiaojiao and his brothers. Seeing nothing amiss, he nodded and proceeded onward.
However, as he turned away, the expressions of the Ruan Family brothers behind him subtly changed.
