Chapter 1088: Chapter 1088: No Need for That

Jiang Pan Die smiled wryly, "Sorry, both of these songs were already chosen by the guest."

"What a coincidence?"

"Yeah, it wasn’t his choice. It was the result of fans voting, can’t change it," Jiang Pan Die said.

"No worries, others are fine too." Lin Tian looked at the playlist on the screen and got stuck again, "But I haven’t really listened to your songs. Why don’t you pick for me?"

"What do you mean you haven’t heard them? Aren’t you my loyal fan?"

"Uh... I’m really not."

"Stop lying, last time on the school stage, you rapped my song so smoothly. I practiced that rap for three days, how could someone unfamiliar sing it so well? Honestly, you sang it better than I did," Jiang Pan Die said.

Lin Tian looked at her and asked, "What if I say I only listened to it a dozen times, would you believe it?"

"What do you think?" Jiang Pan Die crossed her arms skeptically, showing she wouldn’t believe it no matter what.

Why is this guy so stubborn about saving face? Is admitting you’re my fan so hard?

"Fine, don’t believe me." Lin Tian said, casually pointing at a few songs on the list. It didn’t make any difference to him what to sing.

Jiang Pan Die watched his nonchalant demeanor, murmuring, "You wouldn’t... really have only listened to it a dozen times, right?"

Lin Tian nodded, serving as an answer.

"..." Jiang Pan Die looked at Lin Tian like he was a monster. If he wasn’t bluffing, then it was truly unbelievable.

Lin Tian finished selecting the songs, sat back on the sofa, and said, "Come and sing with me. Guide me through it, a couple of practices should be enough. I won’t go to the arena, too much hassle."

Jiang Pan Die was speechless for a while; it was the first time she’d heard that rehearsing on stage a couple of times in a KTV would be enough. This was amateurish to the extreme, right?

Curious to know Lin Tian’s strength, Jiang Pan Die sat on the sofa with a mic, saying, "The first and second parts of this song are the same. I’ll sing the first half, then you listen and sing the second half, is that okay?"

"No problem, let’s start," Lin Tian said with a smile. He could tell that Jiang Pan Die was testing him, but Lin Tian wasn’t worried at all. With all the subjects in the exams, he memorized everything in a month, a few lyrics were easier than easy.

Jiang Pan Die sat on the sofa, her long legs propped up on the table in front. It was an ungraceful but very comfortable posture, and she felt no need to maintain any goddess image in front of Lin Tian.

The song "Millions of Lights" began with the accompaniment, and Jiang Pan Die gently tapped a beat on her arm with her fingers, then began to sing softly.

She could sing both contralto and soprano, and her voice was versatile—sometimes ethereal, sometimes sweet, sometimes resounding. It was as if her throat held a voice modulator.

Especially with the song Lin Tian chose, the lyrics weren’t difficult, but the key was neither high nor low, showcasing the difficulty of her versatile voice.

Soon, the first half was finished, and during the interlude, Jiang Pan Die gave Lin Tian a provocative glance.

"Very nice." Lin Tian smiled and said, "A goddess is indeed different from us mere mortals."

"Haha, good that you recognize it. Enough flattery, it’s your turn now," Jiang Pan Die laughed happily. Honestly, she’d heard such praise almost every day over the years. But it seemed like it’s been a long time since she felt this happy.

"But... it’s a bit hard," Lin Tian said softly.

"Ha, it should be difficult. See, you’re bluffing. How about switching to another song?"

"No worries, I’ll give it a try."

The interlude ended, starting the second half. Lin Tian didn’t deliberately change his vocal style. What he knew was only head and chest voice, so there was almost no change in his singing.

After finishing the song, Lin Tian turned his face and asked, "How was it? Okay?"

"Okay." Jiang Pan Die nodded, "Absolutely great! Your mix of head and chest voice is really good! Lin Tian, how about I take you into the music scene? With your talent, you don’t need to learn any techniques to become famous all over the Great South City. By then, the two of us can form a duo, imagine how exciting that would be?"

Lin Tian smiled wryly and said, "Why are your thoughts so impulsive? I’d never want to be a big star."

"It’s fine if you don’t want to be a star, I’ll just invite you to my concert. I’m sure everyone would really enjoy it. Oh, by the way, if others invite you to their concerts as a guest, you shouldn’t go so easily. Things that are rare are precious, so it should be only me who can invite you. I’d have such big recognition, maybe even attract many fans, hahaha..."

Jiang Pan Die laughed heartily, as if she could already see that scene.

"Okay." Lin Tian wasn’t much bothered and agreed readily. This suited his idea; being a guest once or twice was enough. If everyone invited him, how would he do anything else?

"So, just this one song, is that okay?" Lin Tian asked.

"You’re so good at singing, of course!" Jiang Pan Die replied, then thought for a moment, "But I’ve always sung this song solo before, now we need to design it slightly for duet. Let’s try singing two lines each and see how it goes?"

Lin Tian nodded, indicating no objection.

The accompaniment played again, this time Lin Tian started. His voice remained steady without much change. Jiang Pan Die sat aside, fully enjoying it.

They sang their parts clearly and cooperatively. However, this song was a duet and needed some minor adjustments. But how to modify it required careful consideration.

Just as Jiang Pan Die was about to speak, suddenly someone knocked on the door of the private room. Without waiting for a response, the door opened, and a man and a woman appeared, followed by two hangers-on.

Lin Tian looked up at them; the man seemed to be about twenty-five or twenty-six, with brown hair, dressed head-to-toe in designer brands like a walking exhibit.

The woman was similar in age, with a great figure and excellent temperament, not some cheap, tacky type.

"What do you want?" Jiang Pan Die frowned at the pair, annoyed by the interruption of her time with Lin Tian. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"Haha, hearing that voice in the room, it sounded just like her," the man said. "Let me introduce myself, I’m LuuYong, and this is Chen Yao. We heard you singing outside and it sounded just like Jiang Pan Die, so we listened for a bit and waited for you to finish, hoping to make some friends."

Lin Tian looked at LuuYong and shook his head, "There’s no need, please leave."

The man’s face changed immediately. He never expected to be turned down so bluntly. This guy was just too disrespectful, wasn’t he?
