Chapter 1059: Chapter 1059: A Timely Help in the Snow

The pressure surged toward Lin Tian from all directions, crushing him so hard even breathing became difficult.

Seeing this scene, Xu Xichao grinned from ear to ear, so happy he could barely contain himself.

"Big Brother, how long do you think this brat can hold out? I bet in a minute or two he’ll be done for, hahaha." Xu Xichao laughed loudly, his mood bright as a sunny day in the dead of winter.

Xu Beishan’s expression, however, was grim. He said quietly, "Second, don’t celebrate too soon. Lin Tian is still a Golden Core expert. I don’t think this will be that easy."

"Big Brother, why are you discouraging yourself and boosting the enemy? So what if he’s a Golden Core expert? That old geezer from the Martial Sect formed his Golden Core decades ago, didn’t he still end up stiff as a board thanks to Third? If I’d known the demonic path was this strong, I’d have gone too." Xu Xichao said with a careless laugh.

Hearing this, Xu Beishan’s brows knitted. "Third went to cultivate the demonic path for Little Sis’s sake. You’d better throw that idea out of your head."

Xu Xichao chuckled. "I was just joking. This Hundred Ghosts formation, though, it’s the first time I’ve seen such a spectacle. Too bad we don’t have eyes like Third’s and can’t see those ghosts."

"You’re being too optimistic. Haven’t you noticed there’s something off about Lin Tian standing in the middle of that mass of ghosts?"

"What’s off?" Xu Xichao looked up. Lin Tian was clearly being bent over from the pressure, everything was going exactly the way they wanted.

Xu Beishan murmured, "He’s been holding on in that state for quite a while already. Not only can he endure it, he can keep enduring it. Right now he’s trying to locate Master Kun Yun’s hiding place."

Xu Xichao had just started to glance toward where Kun Yun was when Xu Beishan barked, "Turn your head back! Are you an idiot? One look and you’ll give him away!"

Xu Xichao’s body gave a slight shudder; he’d nearly made a huge mistake.

Just then, they heard Lin Tian let out a long roar. No one knew where he pulled a black dagger from. He stepped on the windowsill, pushed off, and jumped down from the building.

Xu Xichao’s pupils shrank instantly—Lin Tian was charging at him with the dagger in hand!

What the hell is this brat trying to do?

When Lin Tian jumped down, that gust of yin wind swept along with him, clinging to him, endlessly annoying.

Luckily, he had Tyrant Emperor’s Record guarding his body. As foul as these yin creatures were, they were still just barely tolerable.

The Xu brothers regarded Lin Tian like a mortal enemy. Xu Xichao guarded in front, his pupils turning red.

Buzz~

Suddenly, Lin Tian heard a buzzing sound inside his head. His mind went blank for a moment, like his soul was about to leave his body.

He didn’t know if it was an illusion, but he could actually hear countless whispers at his ears. When he blinked, he saw a crowd of "people" around him, their bodies half-transparent, most wearing indifferent expressions, some looking ferocious and vicious.

These "people" stretched out pale hands, opened pitch-black mouths, and kept gnawing at Lin Tian’s body.

Before this, Lin Tian hadn’t been able to see the ghosts. Other than the yin wind and the pressure, he felt nothing else, and brute-forcing it was no problem.

But now this horrifying scene made his scalp prickle; it was nauseating beyond words!

"Big Brother... look at him, what’s he going crazy in place for?" Xu Xichao asked in a low voice. In his eyes, Lin Tian’s face looked incredibly ugly as he kept punching and kicking at the air like a lunatic.

"No idea. Master Kun Yun must’ve done something to him, but we just can’t see it. Otherwise, going to all this trouble just to stir up some wind—pretty but useless—would be pointless." Sitting in his wheelchair, Xu Beishan slowly broke into a smile. This was the result he wanted.

Hearing this, Xu Xichao’s still-handsome-with-age face also lit up with a smile. "How about I go give him a palm strike? Beat him till he can’t take care of himself?"

"Go." Xu Beishan nodded. He’d personally experienced Lin Tian’s strength; as long as this variable wasn’t removed, he wouldn’t be at ease.

Xu Xichao’s figure flickered and darted out under the dim yellow lights. His pupils grew even redder, exuding a seductive glow.

These eyes of his could drag people into illusions—layer upon layer like cocoons they could never tear apart, trapped forever in their fantasies until death.

This was the Xu Family’s legendary Charming Skill in the ancient martial circle!

Previously, because the difference in strength was too big, Xu Xichao hadn’t dared to use Charming Skill, or it would have backfired on him.

But now it was different. Lin Tian had already panicked and lost his rhythm. The timing was perfect!

"Idiot! Get back!" Just then, that old hoarse voice rang out from nowhere again.

When Xu Xichao heard the voice, his body jolted—but he was moving too fast. By the time the words fell, he was already in front of Lin Tian.

Hearing the voice, Lin Tian’s body also jolted.

Lin Tian was in an extremely passive position now. All he could do was circulate Spiritual Qi through his entire body to resist the tide-like chill surging into him.

Once the vengeful spirits reached a certain number, they had undergone a qualitative change. They weren’t afraid of Lin Tian’s aura, nor of his half-baked Buddhist chants. Only the Spiritual Qi coursing through his body could stalemate them for a while.

Hearing Kun Yun’s voice, Lin Tian looked up and saw Xu Xichao darting toward him.

Lin Tian knew all too well what he was coming for. Just as he braced himself to counterattack, Xu Xichao’s arrival actually made the ghosts around Lin Tian recede like a tide!

Lin Tian’s spirit lifted and joy flashed across his face.

A great benefactor bringing charcoal in a snowstorm!

He’d jumped down from upstairs specifically to get near these two, because he was certain they carried something on them that the ghosts feared.

This idiot, charging in so recklessly now, was instead doing Lin Tian a huge favor!

Xu Xichao couldn’t see the ghosts, so he naturally had no idea what had happened. He still thought Lin Tian could barely protect himself.

Silently reciting his Heart Method, Xu Xichao pushed his Charming Skill to the limit. But to his surprise, Lin Tian was actually smiling—that smug, petty-villain kind of smile.

Their eyes met.

When Xu Xichao’s seductive red gaze locked onto Lin Tian’s clear, lucid eyes, his heart skipped a beat with a heavy thud.

The Charming Skill had failed. With the gap in strength laid bare between them, the final outcome was of course that Xu Xichao suffered a backlash. His eyes burned with searing pain.

Lin Tian reached both hands forward, grabbed Xu Xichao by the shoulders, and gave a pull, yanking him right up to his face.

"Hahaha, many thanks, many thanks. Second Uncle, why don’t you stay here and keep me company for a bit?" Lin Tian said with a loud laugh.

To Xu Xichao’s ears, that laughter couldn’t have been more grating. He still had no idea what had just happened.

"Lin Tian, you tricked me!" Xu Xichao ground out through clenched teeth. How could this guy be so sly?

Lin Tian froze for a second, then burst out laughing again. "I didn’t trick you. I was trapped just now, and you helped me out a ton!"

"Crap!"
