Chapter 992: Chapter 992: Huzi Fights Tigers
As Liu Zixuan, Zhao Yi, and Xiao Hu were playfully heading back to the small town, an event happened in the mountains twenty kilometers away from the Jade Maiden Sect.
Huzi stood inside a very strange cave, looking at the piles of skeletons in front of him, scratching his head and cursing, "Could Zixuan be wrong about this? Where’s the fortune, huh? I’ve found seven or eight caves in this mountain, and there’s nothing but small animals or some bones. Where’s the opportunity?"
Indeed, Huzi had almost explored the entire mountain these days. As he said, he had almost gone through all the caves.
This was the last cave he discovered. Aside from being a bit larger and the skeletons looking somewhat eerie, there was nothing special about it.
Turning around a couple of times, he kicked a stone in frustration, and that stone coincidentally flew directly towards the pile of skeletons in front of him.
The skeleton was peculiar, not resembling a human or any ordinary small animal; it looked more like a wild beast such as a tiger or lion.
The stone hit it heavily, and the skeleton crumbled into powder, scattering on the ground. But following that, a very noticeable pattern emerged from behind the skeleton.
Huzi’s eyes widened, and he stepped forward. The pattern resembled a tiger but was very simplistic, like something ancient carved on a wall.
He reached forward to touch it, but as soon as he did, the ground beneath him gave way, and he fell down.
Thud!
With no preparation for the fall, Huzi was dazed and confused. Fortunately, he was a Martial Artist. If it were an ordinary person, they might have been paralyzed from the fall!
Clap!
A lighter flicked to life, and as the light became clearer, a small hidden space appeared in front of Huzi.
It was about seventy to eighty square meters. The space was simply furnished, with stone tiger sculptures on both sides and a small platform in the middle, where a vaguely visible object was emitting some light.
Huzi’s lips twitched slightly: "I can’t find the opportunity, but could it be I’m about to make a fortune? I’ve long heard people say that someone made some sort of tomb here in the mountains, so this must mean there’s treasure inside the tomb!"
His eyes lit up, and Huzi couldn’t bother with anything else. He grabbed the lighter and headed towards the unclear object.
As he got closer, it became clearer. The glowing object was a fist-sized, golden bone.
"Is this made of gold?" Huzi murmured as he reached out to grab the bone. Upon touching it, a biting coldness penetrated his fingers, and a creaking sound echoed from both sides.
Huzi shivered, his hand trembling, and the lighter went out. But when he looked around, there was blue light shining at him from both sides.
It was like seeing ghost lights in the dark, quite creepy.
Although Huzi was usually boisterous, seeing this scene scared him so much that he fell straight to the ground.
"Wha... what the hell!"
As those four blue lights got closer, the sound of footsteps on the ground grew clearer. With a little more light, Huzi could finally make out that the stone tiger sculptures had come alive and turned into real, lively tigers!
However, their fur was white!
"Roar!"
"Roar!"
The deafening tiger roars sounded, and the two tigers leaped towards Huzi, ready to attack.
Startled, Huzi instinctively rolled to the side, and the two tigers, in their haste, collided with each other!
"Damn, I thought you guys were something special, but turns out you’re dumber than me!" Huzi got up from the ground, clenched his fists, and said, "Since we’ve met, today your Grandpa Huzi will take you both on!"
The two tigers might have collided, but they weren’t really injured. They got up, fixed their eyes on Huzi, and lunged towards him again.
Bang!
Huzi threw a punch directly at the first tiger’s stomach. Being someone on the Acquired Emperor Realm, this punch made the tiger fly backward, crashing into the mountain wall, roaring in pain.
Huzi paused, another burst of force emanating from his right fist, hitting the second tiger’s head directly.
Seeing both tigers beaten back, Huzi rubbed his fists: "Though my name is Huzi, I’m still a person, damn it! You might be called tigers, but at the end of the day, you’re just beasts!"
"Roar!"
With those words, the injured tigers seemed to be provoked. Ignoring the pain, they launched another attack!
What followed were scenes of Huzi fighting the tigers.
One punch after another, strike upon strike.
The tigers’ injuries grew more severe, yet Huzi’s momentum only grew stronger. But he didn’t notice that the golden bone on the stone platform was shining even brighter.
When the light completely illuminated the entire space, the attacking tigers suddenly froze, instantly reverting to their original stone sculpture forms.
Huzi’s mouth twitched a few times: "What the hell are you doing? Weren’t you all powerful just now? Come back from the stones and fight me again!"
It’s not that Huzi was crazy. He usually spent half of his day bantering with Jiang Yunxuan. Alone in these deep mountains for days, he finally found something to vent on, so of course, he had to vent a bit.
While he focused intently on the tiger sculptures, oblivious to the golden bone now floating behind him.
As he turned around, the bone flew forward and struck the back of his head.
In an instant, a flash of gold crossed Huzi’s eyes, and he lost consciousness, while that golden bone fell to the ground, splitting into two pieces. One piece fell beside his left fist, and the other beside his right. Curiously, after such a neat split, the golden glow vanished. Soon the cave was pitch black again, as if nothing had ever happened!
...
Meanwhile, at almost the same time, a big event unfolded on a lake in the Northwest Wilderness.
A ragged Jiang Yunxuan was sitting on a log, cursing.
"Liu Zixuan, you bastard, were you bluffing? What bullshit fortune, making me come to this godforsaken place, getting chased by beasts, hit by storms, and falling off waterfalls, ending up drifting here in this lousy lake with this log. What if some monster suddenly comes out and eats me?"
Thud! Thud!
At this moment, a few fish darted across the water’s surface.
Jiang Yunxuan frowned: "Could there be no monsters but maybe a legendary mermaid instead?"
