Chapter 921: Chapter 921: Who’s Rushing to Court Death?
After everyone chatted for a while, Mo Chengfeng and Crazy Zhou went back to Lingxiu Village, partly because they were worried about prying ears next door, partly because they didn’t want the villagers to worry too much.
What puzzled them was that Crazy Zhou and Little Sixth Master, who had almost started a fight at the dining table, actually had their arms around each other’s shoulders and were calling each other brother when they parted.
Watching the dust their car kicked up as it sped away, Liu Zixuan raised an eyebrow and asked, "You two old foxes, what are you up to now?"
"If I say I used a few of my treasured collectibles to shut his mouth, would you believe it?" Little Sixth Master said with a playful smile.
"I really would." Liu Zixuan bared his teeth in a grin. "That bastard Crazy Zhou—so long as there’s treasure involved, he can treat his father’s killer like a buddy!"
"Hahahaha!" Little Sixth Master let out a loud laugh, then turned and walked back into the restaurant.
Liu Zixuan did believe Little Sixth Master had used treasure to shut Crazy Zhou up, but he doubted that just a few items were enough for the two of them to become sworn brothers.
He knew Crazy Zhou far too well.
Since these two old foxes weren’t saying anything, he couldn’t be bothered to pry. Dealing with the Celestial Dao Alliance was what really mattered right now.
Late at night, when everything was quiet, Liu Zixuan stood at the window looking out at the night of Ghost Wood City.
Before long, Bei Meiyin walked up from behind and draped a piece of clothing over him. "It’s spring, but it still gets a bit chilly at night."
Liu Zixuan smiled slightly and pulled Bei Meiyin into his arms. "You came all the way here with me from being a business queen of the Celestial Capital—don’t you feel a bit unwilling to give that up?"
"Not at all." Bei Meiyin shook her head, cheeks flushed. "Life moves really fast in a big city—you can miss all the beautiful things. Things aren’t great now, but at least it’s quieter in comparison. I can slow down and actually enjoy life a little."
"Nice mindset." Liu Zixuan teased with a grin. "Then stop being some business queen from now on."
"Then what should I be?"
"Be the mother of my son, of course!" Liu Zixuan chuckled, scooped Bei Meiyin up, and carried her straight toward the bed.
"My dad’s right next door!" Bei Meiyin muttered in a half-hearted protest, her pretty face flushed so red it looked like it might start dripping.
Though her words held a hint of refusal, in her heart she was fully savoring this tender moment.
She had been pampered since childhood, then recently charged across the battlefield of the business world—she’d enjoyed blessings and endured hardship. Right now, for Bei Meiyin, being by the side of the man she loved could be said to be the most wonderful thing in the world.
Looking down from above at that pitifully adorable face, his fingers tracing over that white, jade-like skin, Liu Zixuan slowly lowered his head and pressed his lips to her red ones.
"Mmm!"
Bei Meiyin let out a soft moan. Her mind told her to push him away, but when her arms lifted halfway, they instead wrapped around Liu Zixuan’s neck.
A bout of deep, passionate kissing quickly had this hormonally charged pair merging like a spark hitting dry tinder.
Afterward, Bei Meiyin snuggled in Liu Zixuan’s arms. "When you were at the Profound Sword Sect, did you run into any pretty girls?"
"Sure did. She was a real knockout too." In Liu Zixuan’s mind, the image of that little demon girl Xiaoxiao surfaced unbidden.
"With your personality, I’m guessing you’d already have bagged her by now, right?" Bei Meiyin asked, a hint of jealousy in her tone.
Liu Zixuan shook his head. "She’s a little demon girl. Not easy to tame, you know."
"There’s actually a girl you can’t win over?"
"She got taken away by the Gu Family." A flicker of cold light flashed in Liu Zixuan’s eyes and vanished, and he smiled. "Alright, get some sleep. Tomorrow when we’re back in Lingxiu Village, I’ll take you out to play."
"Okay!" Bei Meiyin could hear the change in Liu Zixuan’s tone and didn’t press further. Nestled in his arms, she quickly drifted off to sleep.
...
a.m. the next morning.
Just after Liu Zixuan and the others had finished breakfast, Xiaobin rushed in.
"Master Xuan, the brothers at the city entrance just called. They said a few suspicious cars headed toward Lingxiu Village. If nothing goes wrong, it should be people from the Celestial Dao Alliance."
"Those bastards sure showed up early." Liu Zixuan narrowed his eyes. "In such a hurry to get reincarnated?"
"Hahaha, I say they’re just rushing off to die!" Little Sixth Master slapped the table and stood up. He said to Xiaobin, "Put my Cyan Dragon Crescent Blade in the trunk. I’m killing a few Celestial Dao Alliance bastards today!"
"Got it!"
As they spoke, the group headed straight out of the City Center Restaurant. Five cars drove off together toward Lingxiu Village.
About half an hour later, when they turned onto the main road outside Lingxiu Village, they could see three cars in the distance speeding madly ahead.
Liu Zixuan took out his phone and called Mo Chengfeng. Once the call connected, he said with a smile, "Your show’s up next."
"Just watch."
Mo Chengfeng hung up, started the car, then grabbed a walkie-talkie and shouted, "Brothers, keep your eyes open. Today we’re having dumplings!"
"You got it!"
His words had barely faded when the air was filled with the roar of multiple cars and motorcycles. As the three Celestial Dao Alliance vehicles came tearing in, his people surged out from both sides of the road and cut straight into the middle.
Screech!
Screech!
Several harsh braking sounds rang out, and the three Celestial Dao Alliance cars came to a steady stop in the middle of the road.
Before they could react, five more cars appeared behind them. In an instant, both the road ahead and the way back were completely blocked off!
Wei Linming, sitting in the front passenger seat, looked front and back, his brows furrowing at once. "Second Uncle, looks like our movements were exposed a long time ago!"
In the back, Wei Zheng glanced at the old man beside him. "Old Ancestor, what do you think...?"
"No matter. Since they’re so eager to rush out here and die, it saves us the trouble of entering the village to hunt them down one by one. We’ll do it here." The old man waved his hand dismissively.
"Yes, sir!"
Wei Zheng, Wei Linming, and the Celestial Dao Alliance experts all stepped out of their cars, each one holding a gleaming blade in hand.
Wei Linming glanced at the vehicles blocking front and back, then pointed at Mo Chengfeng and cursed, "We were going to spend some effort going into the village to find you. Who knew you’d be so considerate, coming out halfway to meet your deaths!"
Mo Chengfeng hefted a blade onto his shoulder. "And how do you know it’s not you lot who came out here to die?"
"You ragtag mob thinks you can talk big like that?" Wei Zheng sneered as he stepped aside, pointing at the old man next to him. "This is our Wei Family’s Old Ancestor. He alone could rip that so-called Thief Sect of yours out by the roots!"
"One Thief Sect isn’t enough to trouble your Old Ancestor—how about you add me, Little Master, into the mix?"
Right then, Liu Zixuan stepped out of one of the cars behind, Little Sixth Master, Xiaobin, and the Bei Family bodyguards following close behind as they closed in.
In just a moment, they had the Celestial Dao Alliance crowd completely surrounded in the middle of the road.
In terms of momentum, numbers, and even terrain, they held the absolute upper hand!
