Chapter 313: Chapter 312: Devouring the Demon

In the Celestial Demon Mountain Range, conflict flared anew!

Just as the Demon Race elder was about to seize the black stone, an icy voice rang out. The bone-chilling killing intent sent a shiver down his spine, and his mind reeled in shock. Ignoring the temptation of the mysterious stone, he shot backward in retreat...

The moment he fell back, a Thunder Spear tore through the air and slammed into the earth. Violent lightning swept a hundred-foot radius around the black stone, blasting a deep crater into the ground. Seeing this, the Demon Race elder’s pupils shrank, a look of dread filling his eyes.

"The Thunder Mysteries... The newcomer is an Extraordinary cultivator!"

As his voice faded, a young man in white robes descended gracefully from the sky, his expression cold. He glanced at the fused black stone, a hint of surprise in his eyes. ’So, there’s more than one of these,’ he murmured. ’Interesting.’

With a beckoning gesture, he drew the fused black stone into his hand. Qin Ya could feel the aura of Destruction contained within it had grown even more potent. However, a fine seam was still visible where the two pieces joined. Qin Ya’s brow furrowed slightly. ’It seems these two stones were originally one piece, but shattered for some unknown reason.’

The black stone was still an irregular rhombus, now with a more pointed tip. It was impossible to tell its original, unbroken shape. Qin Ya didn’t dwell on it and placed the stone into his Storage Ring. Taking a step forward, he suddenly felt something under his foot. He looked down and saw a small vial lying there.

’An Extraordinary! Such a young Extraordinary!’

The moment the Demon Race elder saw Qin Ya, he was utterly stunned. The others couldn’t gauge Qin Ya’s Cultivation, but seeing him descend from above, they could guess at his power. After all, only an Extraordinary cultivator was capable of Sky-Controlling!

A whirlwind of emotions churned within them: shock, jealousy, anger...

’Why? Why does he have such a high Cultivation at his age?!’

’On what grounds?! We were born without such Talent, forced to grovel before the Demon Race and beg for a Demon Seed just to gain power! The heavens are unjust!!’

In an instant, their eyes turned bloodshot as they glared at Qin Ya, as if he were the sworn enemy who had murdered their parents and slaughtered their children.

"Human Race whelp, give me back my treasure!" the Demon Race elder roared, snapping back to his senses as he saw Qin Ya put the black stone into his Storage Ring.

BOOM!!

The wind fell silent. The clouds froze.

Everyone felt as if their very Souls were freezing over. The Demon Race elder’s pupils contracted to pinpricks as cold sweat streamed down his face. The others were already prostrate on the ground, paralyzed, able to do nothing but stare up at the young man in white, their faces masks of terror.

A terrifying, world-ending killing intent washed over them!

Qin Ya’s expression was glacial. He picked up the vial from under his foot. Inside, a brilliant red liquid swirled, pure and flawless, without the slightest impurity. The purer it appeared, the colder his killing intent grew. Then, his chilling voice cut through the silence...

"Pure Yin Blood. It requires the blood sacrifice of at least ten thousand virgins."

"There is no reason for any of you to remain alive."

Qin Ya was an Alchemist. During Alchemy, he sometimes used blood, but it was almost always Beast Blood. That didn’t mean he couldn’t recognize Pure Yin Blood. In certain Pill Formulas, it was considered an ingredient as valuable as any rare treasure.

But he had never used it himself.

For one, its creation was vile. For another, he had no need of it. As a Pill Venerable, he could name at least thirty alternative ingredients to substitute for Pure Yin Blood. He never expected to encounter the real thing here. Gazing at the Demon Race elder and his followers, he waved his hand indifferently. Endless Primordial Qi converged, forming a volley of Thunder Spears that erupted forth!

BOOM, KABOOM...

A series of explosions thundered out, turning the ground before Qin Ya into a ruin!

In an instant, everyone except the Demon Race elder was blasted into a bloody mist by this absolute power, dying in terror without a chance to resist.

"Cough, cough..."

The Demon Race elder coughed up blood, his face a mask of terror as he stared at Qin Ya.

’Terrifying... He’s too terrifying!’

’I’m completely powerless against him! Flee! I have to get out of here!’ The thought spurred him into action, and the Demon Race elder shot away into the distance.

"Trying to escape? Do you really think you can?"

As his voice faded, Qin Ya’s figure blurred. He reappeared before the elder at an impossible speed, slowly reaching out a hand. To the elder, however, that hand moved with a speed that defied logic. He was caught by the head before he could even register the movement. In that instant, the elder unleashed all the Demonic Qi in his body.

The torrent of Demonic Qi surged into Qin Ya’s body, aiming to destroy his internal organs. But Qin Ya just sneered in disdain. ’This level of Demonic Qi? My True Essence can disperse it with a single cycle, and it thinks it can wreak havoc inside me?’

But as his True Essence stirred, Qin Ya paused, slightly taken aback.

The moment the Demonic Qi entered him, a powerful Devouring Power erupted from his bloodline. Like a starving wolf sighting a lamb, it lunged forward recklessly. Qin Ya could feel the Demonic Qi pouring from the elder being consumed as fast as it came in. Soon, the old man’s output couldn’t keep up with the rate of consumption.

The Demon Race elder’s expression changed drastically. He could clearly feel his connection to his Demonic Qi sever the instant it entered Qin Ya’s body, as if a bottomless black hole hidden within was swallowing everything.

The Devouring Power in his bloodline consumed the elder’s Demonic Qi as soon as it entered his system. Finally, as if dissatisfied with the slow pace, the Devouring Power surged out through Qin Ya’s arm and into the elder. Immediately, a much larger torrent of Demonic Qi flooded back into Qin Ya’s body.

"Damn it, what is going on?!"

The elder cried out in terror. He could feel his own Demonic Qi shrieking in fear, as if targeted by some horrifying entity. Then, the Demonic Qi he had spent years painstakingly cultivating began to gush out of him like a ruptured dam, flowing ceaselessly into Qin Ya’s body while he could only stand and watch in horror!

An unprecedented terror enveloped him.

’A human who can devour Demonic Qi... Is he even human?’

It wasn’t just the elder; even Qin Ya was surprised. He hadn’t expected his bloodline’s Devouring Power to be this strong, capable of absorbing the Demonic Qi of an Extraordinary-level member of the Demon Race. ’If I can master this Devouring Power,’ he thought, ’I’ll have a huge advantage over others in future battles against the Demon Race.’

In the space of a few breaths, all the Demonic Qi in the elder’s body was devoured completely.

Feeling the surging Qi and Blood within him, the corner of Qin Ya’s mouth curled up slightly. He looked at the Demon Race elder and said coolly, "I really must thank you for the gift."

The elder’s face was ashen, his eyes completely lifeless. All the Demonic Qi in his body had been devoured by Qin Ya; even his Demon Core had shattered and lost its luster. In other words, his Cultivation had been completely destroyed.

’How... how is this possible?’

’Why could a member of the Human Race devour my Demonic Qi?’

"Now, it’s your time to die."

Qin Ya raised his hand, True Essence gathering in his palm. He brought it down on the Demon Race elder’s head. With a sickening CRACK, blood splattered everywhere. The life left the elder in an instant. Yet, Qin Ya’s white robes remained pristine, untouched by a single drop of blood. He took the elder’s Storage Ring and, without a backward glance, departed the Celestial Demon Mountain Range.
