Chapter 166: Chapter 166: Killing Lan Xin
The smoke and dust slowly dissipated, revealing a lone figure in white standing tall.
Qin Ya’s expression was serene, a faint, almost nonexistent smile playing on his lips. He was utterly unscathed, looking exactly as he had before.
If not for the ravaged ground and pockmarked craters, everyone would have thought the preceding events were just a figment of their imagination.
The disciples of the Vast Sea Divine Palace looked as if they had seen a ghost, their faces etched with disbelief. He had survived such an onslaught, but that wasn’t what shocked them most. What was truly staggering was that Qin Ya was completely unscathed.
’My heavens! He just stood there, motionless, letting us attack him, and he doesn’t have a single scratch? Are we dreaming?’
"This... How is this possible?!" someone muttered in a daze.
Meanwhile, cold sweat began to bead on Han Ling and Lan Xin’s foreheads, a hint of terror creeping into their eyes. If Qin Ya had dodged, or even countered their assault with one of his own, they would have been surprised, yes, but not terrified like this. But what had Qin Ya done?
’He did nothing. He just stood there!’
Yet their attacks had been completely useless against him. It was simply inconceivable. Lan Xin swallowed hard, his voice hoarse. "Who... who on earth is he?"
"Looks like... we’ve really picked a fight with the wrong person," Han Ling said with a bitter laugh. He finally understood that his earlier premonition had been correct.
Qin Ya smiled faintly, gazing at the dumbstruck crowd. "Is that the extent of your attacks? How disappointing. Now, it’s my turn."
With a soft chuckle, his figure blurred into motion, moving with ghostly speed. Before the dazed crowd could react, a silhouette flickered among them, followed by harrowing screams and wails. "AH! My leg—"
"Dammit, he’s so fast!"
"Where is he— No, my arm!"
A few breaths later, the disciples of the Vast Sea Divine Palace were all on the ground, crying out in agony. Every one of them had either a dislocated arm or a broken leg. Lan Xin and Han Ling’s pupils contracted violently. ’So fast! So strong!’
’Flee! We have to flee now!’ The thought flashed through both their minds. Exchanging a glance, they bolted in opposite directions.
A cold smile touched the corners of Qin Ya’s lips.
Lan Xin pushed himself to the limit, his True Essence flaring as he fled for his life. Suddenly, a figure in white materialized before him. His expression changed in an instant. With a furious roar, he thrust a vicious palm strike at the figure. "Get the hell out of my way!"
BOOM...
Before he could even see what happened, a tremendous force slammed into him, surging through his entire body. A sweet, metallic taste filled his throat, and he coughed up a mouthful of blood as his body was sent flying backward uncontrollably. After a single exchange, he had already lost all ability to fight back.
Meanwhile, the fleeing Han Ling glanced back just in time to see Lan Xin defeated in a single blow. The sight spurred him to move even faster. ’Qin Ya went after Lan Xin first,’ he thought. ’With my Celestial Essence Realm speed, I should have enough time to escape!’ But he would soon realize just how naive that thought was.
Barely two breaths later, he felt a bone-deep chill creep up his back.
Qin Ya’s figure then materialized before him. Han Ling’s heart leaped into his throat. ’Impossible! How can he be this fast?!’
He didn’t know. Qin Ya cultivated a peak Earth Level Body Technique. Compounded by his mastery of both the Wind’s Great Trend and the Speed Trend, his speed back in the Earth Element Realm could already leave Celestial Essence Realm Martial Artists in the dust. Now that he himself had advanced to the Celestial Essence Realm, his speed was simply unimaginable.
"Damn you, get away from me!"
Seeing this, Han Ling abruptly raised his hands and unleashed a ferocious Palm Power strike.
But Qin Ya merely smiled coldly, making no move to dodge.
The two palms struck Qin Ya’s body squarely. A flash of glee crossed Han Ling’s face, but it was instantly replaced by sheer terror. It felt as if his Palm Power had struck an indestructible barrier, unable to penetrate in the slightest.
Then, a powerful rebound force surged back at him. Han Ling shrieked in agony as the bones in his hands shattered, sharp splinters bursting through his skin.
Qin Ya’s expression remained cold. He lashed out with a kick, sending Han Ling flying dozens of yards. He then dragged both Han Ling and Lan Xin over to Lu Yin and Xiao Yunchen.
Lu Yin and Xiao Yunchen had long been rendered speechless by the unfolding spectacle. They stared at Qin Ya, their faces masks of utter, uncomprehending shock.
This youth... not long ago, his strength might have surpassed theirs, but only by a small margin. But now?
’He’s an absolute monster!’
In just two short months, his power had grown to such an extent. He toyed with Celestial Essence Realm Martial Artists as if they were nothing. This was a level of strength they could only look up to, forever out of their reach.
A bitter look crossed Lu Yin’s face. He knew now that he would likely spend his entire life unable to ever catch up to the young man who had once defeated him.
The disciples of the Vast Sea Divine Palace stared in terror as Qin Ya dragged Lan Xin and Han Ling along like a pair of dead dogs. Even their invincible Senior Brother Han had been beaten into such a state. ’Just how terrifying is this youth?!’
"What do you want to do with these two?"
Qin Ya asked.
Hearing this, Lu Yin and Xiao Yunchen finally snapped out of their stupor, a cold, murderous light glinting in their eyes. Xiao Yunchen glared at Lan Xin. "I want to kill this bastard."
Qin Ya nodded. Even if they hadn’t said anything, he had intended to kill Lan Xin himself. Spear in hand, he walked over to Lan Xin.
"You can’t kill me, you can’t kill me."
"I’m from the Vast Sea Divine Palace! My father is one of its Island Masters! You’ll come to a bad end if you kill me, you hear me?!"
"If you spare me, I can even recommend you for cultivation at the Vast Sea Divine Palace!"
The fear of death consumed Lan Xin. He didn’t want to die; there were so many wonderful things in life he had yet to experience. In that moment, he cast aside all thoughts of Martial Skills, desperately trying every threat and promise he could think of on Qin Ya.
But Qin Ya remained unmoved, not a flicker of interest in his eyes. With a sudden thrust, the long spear shot forward. Lan Xin’s pupils constricted as the tip of the spear burst out from the back of his neck. The light in his eyes slowly faded, and his life was extinguished.
"Haha, good riddance!" Xiao Yunchen laughed with delight.
Qin Ya asked, curious, "What was the feud between you and him, exactly?"
At the question, Xiao Yunchen began to recount the entire affair.
It turned out that Xiao Yunchen and Lu Yin had met on their travels and decided to journey together. Along the way, they stumbled upon the cultivation cave of a past master. Lan Xin happened to discover the place as well, and the three of them joined forces to overcome its various trials.
They had found three top-tier Earth Level Martial Skill manuals, and each took one. But after they parted ways, Lan Xin went back on their agreement. He brought Han Ling and the others to hunt them down, intending to steal the other two manuals.
"I see." Qin Ya finally understood. He snorted coldly. "A despicable whelp like that... Death was too good for him."
