Chapter 156: Chapter 156: Killing Murong Hai
"What’s your name?" Murong Hai demanded, staring coldly at Qin Ya.
Qin Ya smiled faintly, a chill in his eyes. "A dead man doesn’t need to know my name," he said coolly.
"How arrogant!" Murong Hai was furious, grinding his teeth. "A mere Martial Artist at the Perfection of the Earth Element Realm dares to be so brazen? Go to hell!"
With that, he lunged at Qin Ya, palm raised. Before the Palm Power even reached him, the sheer weight of the Palm Technique felt like a mountain crashing down.
’Celestial Essence Realm. His Cultivation isn’t bad.’
Qin Ya gave a small smile and executed Chasing Wind and Shadow to dodge. He then struck out with his own palm, but his was wreathed in scorching flames. A wave of fire erupted, startling Murong Hai.
’First a Cold-Attribute Martial Art, and now a Fire-Attribute one? Doesn’t this guy suffer from elemental backlash? Dammit!’ Murong Hai seethed internally.
He immediately drew a War Saber and roared, "Heavy Mountain Slash!"
A dazzling light flashed from the saber, followed by an immense wave of Blade Qi that tore through the air.
"Hmph. Purple Cloud Heavenly Mountain... how disappointing." Qin Ya chuckled. A black light flashed, and the Coiling Dragon Spear appeared in his hand. He thrust it forward abruptly. "Wind-Splitting!"
The moment he unleashed the Wind-Splitting Spear Technique, it was as if a hurricane had begun to roar.
SHREEE... The incoming blade light was split in two. Without the slightest pause, Qin Ya spun his spear and whipped it viciously at Murong Hai.
The immense force and terrifying speed made the air hum.
Murong Hai’s pupils contracted. He instantly activated a Protective Profound Soldier he wore. Red and blue light flashed as a screen of light manifested, enveloping him completely.
BOOM! The spear cracked against the light screen with a deafening roar!
"Hmm." Qin Ya frowned slightly. He spun his spear again, and the Cold Flame True Essence within him surged, pouring into the tip. The two energies of opposing attributes erupted in a violent clash, slamming into the screen of light.
The screen of light rippled violently. A moment later, Murong Hai was sent flying back dozens of yards, tumbling across the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust.
"Haha! You can’t kill me!"
Murong Hai rose from the dust, his hair a mess and his eyes bloodshot, but his expression was one of utter triumph.
"Tch. So arrogant just because you’re hiding in a turtle shell. How ignorant." Qin Ya gave a cool smile. He moved, his Chasing Wind and Shadow Body Technique now fused with both the Speed Trend and the Wind’s Great Trend. Murong Hai couldn’t follow his movements at all.
Before he could even process what was happening, the black spearhead was suddenly in front of his face. He was struck before he could react.
WHAM! Murong Hai was sent flying dozens of yards once again.
"Damn you!" Murong Hai’s face was twisted in a snarl. He scrambled to his feet and threw a palm strike.
"Hmph." Qin Ya scoffed. He easily dodged with his Body Technique, closing the distance as he did. He struck out with his spear again and again. Murong Hai was completely powerless to resist, utterly at Qin Ya’s mercy.
Atop the dilapidated palace, two figures were locked in a fierce battle—no, to call it a battle would be generous. It was a one-sided slaughter. Qin Ya’s spear gave Murong Hai no room to retaliate. Someone at the Earth Element Realm was completely dominating a master of the Celestial Essence Realm.
"Damn it, damn it all!"
Murong Hai roared internally, his face a savage mask. He tried to counterattack again and again, but he was utterly helpless against Qin Ya’s ghostly speed.
"Murong Hai is actually getting pushed back."
"That kid is terrifying. His combat strength is insane."
"Haha, good! Beat him! That Murong Hai is getting what he deserves."
The few Purple Cloud Heavenly Mountain disciples who had been frozen solid watched in shock. That was a Celestial Essence Realm Martial Artist, yet seeing him beaten filled them with an indescribable sense of satisfaction.
’Murong Hai left them for dead. Why should they worry about him?’
’In fact, they wished he would be torn to shreds.’
"And this is a genius from Purple Cloud Heavenly Mountain?"
Qin Ya smiled coolly. Imbuing his spearhead with Purple Flame Power, he sent Murong Hai flying with a single sweep.
"What a letdown." Qin Ya pressed his attack, thrusting with his Wind-Splitting Spear Technique, which summoned a howling gale. He followed with the Moon Chasing Spear Technique, causing frost to bloom in the air, and then the Sun Chasing Spear Technique, which blazed with roaring flames. Murong Hai had become a living punching bag.
’Thank god for the protection of this Seventh-Grade Profound Soldier,’ Murong Hai thought, horrified. ’Otherwise, even ten lives wouldn’t be enough for him to take.’
In his terror, he failed to notice that the screen of light protecting him was gradually dimming. A Seventh-Grade Profound Soldier’s defense was strong, but not limitless. Under the relentless barrage of the Wind-Splitting, Moon Chasing, and Sun Chasing Spear Techniques, even its protection was beginning to crumble.
’Heh. It’s about time.’
Qin Ya smiled coolly, a sharp glint in his eyes. He thrust his spear, fast as a shooting star. It was so fast it was a blur. The tip of the spear contained the two opposing forces of Cold and Flame, which, combined with its ultimate speed, erupted with ultimate power. Murong Hai’s pupils shrank to pinpoints.
The spearpoint flashed.
K-CRACK! With a sound like shattering glass, a crack appeared on the screen of light. The fissure grew, spreading across its surface.
"This is impossible... Impossible!"
Horror filled Murong Hai’s eyes. ’This is a Seventh-Grade Profound Soldier! A Seventh-Grade Profound Soldier! It’s a defense that not even a Celestial Essence Realm Martial Artist should be able to break!’
But Qin Ya, a Martial Artist at the Earth Element Realm, had actually broken through its defense. Murong Hai’s face turned pale, and his lips began to tremble.
’With the Profound Soldier broken, my life is in danger!’
’Run!’ The thought was his only command. Without the slightest hesitation, Murong Hai turned and fled for his life. But how could Qin Ya possibly let him escape?
"Trying to escape? You don’t know your place."
Qin Ya smiled coolly. Executing Chasing Wind and Shadow, he crossed dozens of yards in the blink of an eye, appearing right in front of Murong Hai and lashing out with his spear.
With no Seventh-Grade Profound Soldier to protect him now, the spear struck Murong Hai square in the chest. CRACK! With the sound of breaking bones, he spat a mouthful of blood, his eyes bulging. Several of his ribs had been shattered. He was sent flying dozens of yards before slamming into a stone wall.
"You can’t kill me! I’m from Purple Cloud Heavenly Mountain! If you kill me, they won’t let you get away with it!" Murong Hai cried, his face a mask of terror.
"Idiot. This is the Hidden Dragon Valley Secret Realm. If I kill you here, who’s going to know?" Qin Ya said with a cool smile, a frosty glint in his eyes.
"No, don’t—"
His words were cut short. The tip of a spear protruded from the back of his neck. Qin Ya coolly withdrew his spear, then with a flick, retrieved the Storage Ring from Murong Hai’s hand. He scanned its contents with his mind and a look of surprise crossed his face.
’This guy had quite a few good things.’
Inside Murong Hai’s Storage Ring, aside from Elixirs and Martial Skills, there was also a small pile of Primordial Stones. That wasn’t something your average Martial Artist could possess.
’As expected of a Disciple from a major power.’
With a small smile, Qin Ya took out the replica Array-Breaking Bell and murmured, "With this, I’ll have more than enough power to break through the Array in the Seventh Elder’s core Cultivation Room."
