Chapter 303: Chapter 303: You Dare Try

Chapter 303: Don’t You Dare!

No matter how much Sharon Sinclair liked Rachel Royce, they had only just met. Besides, her initial goodwill had been mostly for William Jensen’s sake.

She was quite surprised to see Rachel Royce appear with Tristan Sterling today.

’I hadn’t expected Tristan Sterling to be with her. Then, seeing how Melissa acted around Rachel, it’s hard not to suspect his interest is purely for Melissa’s sake. Back when Claire Ainsworth was with Tristan, Melissa never accepted her. Yet, in such a short time, she’d grown so fond of Evelynn.’

’Tristan has always been so protective of Melissa; for Evelynn to have built such a close bond with her is significant. But seeing Rachel’s current cold attitude toward Tristan, while he seems exceptionally attentive to her... I never thought I’d see a woman who could actually handle Tristan Sterling.’

’Seeing it with my own eyes now is unbelievable.’

’Clearly, this Evelynn is no ordinary woman.’

Sharon was, of course, aware of what Anna Lawrence had done today, but in the end, no real trouble had come of it.

This was Rachel Royce’s first time attending one of their gatherings, and their acquaintance was superficial. Naturally, Sharon Sinclair would be more inclined to side with Anna Lawrence.

Rachel Royce could certainly sense this, but she understood.

"I just want to talk to her. I won’t do anything," Rachel said calmly. Sharon Sinclair relented. "Alright then. I’ll go get her now."

「A few minutes later.」

Sharon Sinclair brought Anna Lawrence downstairs to a side hall. Seeing Rachel was unharmed, save for a hand wrapped in gauze, Anna’s lips curled into a cold sneer. "What do you want with me?"

Rachel Royce looked at Sharon Sinclair. "Sharon, I’d like to speak with her alone."

Sharon said, "Alright, Evelynn. Just talk things out calmly. It’s a party today, so let’s not ruin the mood."

Rachel Royce merely gave a faint smile.

Sharon Sinclair turned and left.

Anna Lawrence crossed her arms, strode up to Rachel Royce, and said in a sharp, scathing tone, "You’re quite the master at seducing men. I’m curious, just how many have you slept with to get where you are today?" In her eyes, a woman with no background or family connections had no other way to advance than by selling her body.

’Remembering Rachel and Alexander Sullivan on the tennis court earlier only solidified her conviction: this woman is a restless, man-stealing vixen.’

’And yet, someone as arrogant and discerning as Tristan Sterling had actually fallen for this kind of trash!’

Rachel Royce listened to the humiliating tirade with a calm expression. Her voice was steady as she slowly replied, "I thought a young lady from a prestigious family would at least have some basic decorum and upbringing. But seeing you resort to such despicable, low-class tricks, it’s clear you’re nothing more than a contemptible fool who can’t be taken seriously."

As soon as the words left her mouth, Anna Lawrence’s expression changed instantly.

’No one had ever dared to speak to her like that.’

She lunged forward, raising her hand to deliver a vicious slap, but Rachel tripped her with a quick hook of her foot, sending her stumbling off-balance.

Rachel immediately rose to her feet.

Anna’s hand sliced through empty air as she tumbled onto the sofa.

The fall drove her mad with rage, and she lost all reason.

"You bitch!" she shrieked, whirling around to grab a teacup from the coffee table and hurl it at Rachel. This time, Rachel didn’t dodge.

The teacup smashed against her forehead.

She grunted in pain.

But Anna’s anger wasn’t appeased. ’I’m going to tear her face to shreds today!’

"Don’t you dare!" a cold, sharp voice suddenly barked.

Anna froze. She turned to see Alexander Sullivan striding in, his face ashen with fury.

Rachel stared at him.

Alexander Sullivan strode between them. He saw Rachel clutching her forehead and the fallen teacup on the floor. His eyes, usually so gentle, were now as sharp as daggers as they fixed on Anna Lawrence.

Anna was startled by his glare, but she defiantly stuck her chin out. "What, are you going to hit me for her?"
