Chapter 290: I’m Married
"Who texted you?" June Jennings asked.
Rachel Royce answered, "Tristan Sterling. He invited us to dinner tonight and said to bring Stella along." June Jennings’s lips curled in amusement. "I bet Tristan Sterling doesn’t want Stella and me to come along." Rachel replied, "It doesn’t matter what he wants." Suddenly, June reached out and grabbed Rachel’s hand, causing Rachel to look at her, startled.
"Rachel, whatever you do, don’t fall for Tristan Sterling’s tricks. If you spend your life with a man like him, he’ll have you wrapped around his little finger." Rachel Royce smiled and said, "I know. It’s just that the tables have turned now." It used to be her counseling June, telling her to think about her own future and that her child would understand when they grew up.
Now, it was June’s turn to remind her.
But when it came to her own situation... That evening.
Tristan Sterling had booked a high-end French restaurant.
When Rachel Royce arrived, Tristan Sterling was already there.
She entered the restaurant.
Tristan Sterling was sitting on a sofa by the window, talking on the phone. The brilliant lights illuminated his chiseled profile. Dressed in a suit, he looked distinguished and elegant.
When he saw them, he hung up the phone.
At that moment, a woman sitting at a table diagonally across from them was looking in Tristan Sterling’s direction, her eyes filled with unconcealed admiration.
One of them, a stunning woman in a sexy dress, boldly walked up to him.
Tristan Sterling said, "Sorry, I’m married." Seeing his extraordinarily handsome face and gentlemanly demeanor, the woman’s heart couldn’t help but pound violently.
Hearing his words, a look of disappointment immediately crossed her face.
"Daddy!" "Mr. Sterling!" The woman turned to see the two children, and then Rachel Royce and June Jennings.
She couldn’t help but size up Rachel Royce before lowering her eyes and walking back to her seat.
Tristan Sterling stood up, responding warmly to Stella as he helped the two little ones get seated.
Melissa asked, "Daddy, what did that lady just say to you?" Tristan Sterling replied, "Nothing much." Melissa tilted her head back to look at her father, her expression adorably bossy. She raised her voice and declared, "Daddy, you have Mommy now! You can only be nice to Mommy, you can only like Mommy, and you can’t talk to other women, you hear me?" The two women at the next table heard Melissa’s words clearly, and an awkward look appeared on the face of the one who had approached Tristan.
Tristan Sterling’s voice sounded exceptionally humble as he said, "Daddy knows. We really didn’t say anything." He looked toward Rachel Royce and June Jennings, who were walking over, and beckoned. "Have a seat!" Rachel pulled June down into a seat beside her.
A waiter came over to take their order.
Once the order was placed, the waiter took the tablet and turned to leave.
Rachel Royce and June Jennings chatted casually.
Tristan Sterling spoke with the two children.
Stella also really liked talking to Tristan Sterling.
"Mr. Sterling, when did you and my godmother get together? How come I never met you before?"
Tristan Sterling replied, "We got together a long time ago, but we were separated for a while. It’s not too late to get to know each other now."
Melissa asked doubtfully, "When was ’a long time ago’? Why were you separated? How come Melissa didn’t know? Hmph, Daddy never tells me anything."
Tristan Sterling patted Melissa’s little head and apologized, "Alright, it’s Daddy’s fault."
Melissa pressed, "Why did Daddy and Mommy have to separate?"
Tristan Sterling said, "We won’t be separated again."
Melissa huffed, "It must have been Daddy who made Mommy mad, right?"
Tristan Sterling said, "Daddy will never make Mommy mad again."
Melissa huffed indignantly, "If Daddy makes Mommy mad again, Melissa won’t talk to Daddy anymore! I’m going to stay with Mommy."
"Daddy understands."
Melissa repeated her warning, "From now on, you’re not allowed to talk to other women."
"Okay."
