Chapter 3388: Chapter 3389: I Am a Chirper

"I plan to go to the Capital City in a few days and deliver the things."

"Alright, you should enjoy the journey there." Sui Zimo nodded.

Before returning from the Illusion Continent, Liu Yuyang asked them to bring back a lot of things, saying they were for the family. Besides the Lin Family, there’s also the Liu Family, so they should visit the Capital City too.

"I’ll be going out for a bit." Lin Caisang said again.

...

After finishing lunch, Lin Caisang took her son, who could only chirp "chirp chirp chirp," out the door. Sui Zimo had other tasks to attend to and headed out with Zhe Jue as well.

Meanwhile, Lin Caisang went straight to Uncle Jin’s house.

"Sangsang, why are you here at this time?"

It was a hot day, and Uncle Jin’s family was relaxing under the vine trellis in the courtyard. Seeing Lin Caisang with her child, Uncle Jin’s wife quickly stood up.

"Oh, is this your child with Molian? He’s grown so big, what’s his name?"

"Chirp, chirp chirp chirp."

Young Lu Yannuo indicated, I am a ’chirp chirp chirp.’

Lin Caisang: "..."

She was speechless for a moment, glancing at her silly son. Couldn’t the little guy stop chirping?

"This child is called Yannuo, we all call him Xiao Nuo. Auntie, have you eaten yet?"

"Yes, yes, just finished eating. With this heat, dear, quickly cut up the soaked watermelon." Auntie responded with a smile, instructing her husband.

Since the village dug a pond, crops weren’t afraid of getting waterlogged in spring, and they had plenty of water in summer and fall.

They grow two-season rice and those with abundant fields can plant things like watermelons or melons to satisfy their family’s cravings.

All thanks to Lin Caisang.

This morning they picked a watermelon, soaked it in cold well water for about an hour, and now it’s perfect for cutting.

"Alright, I’ll go right away."

Uncle Jin, seeing Lin Caisang arrive, was pleased and hurried to cut the watermelon.

"Uncle Jin, no need to rush. I just came to discuss something and have to head back soon." Lin Caisang couldn’t just sit at his house and eat watermelon – what didn’t she have in her Gold Pearl space?

"What is it?"

Uncle Jin paused and asked her.

The Lin Family indeed didn’t lack a bite of watermelon, with many things growing on Manghuang Mountain, and Lin Caiqing would often share the surplus with everyone in the village.

But still, he signaled to his wife with his eyes.

Auntie, noticing her husband’s glance, stepped back and went to her room, while Uncle Jin stayed behind.

"Sangsang, have a seat."

Uncle Jin’s daughter-in-law brought a chair for Lin Caisang to sit on.

"Thank you, sister-in-law."

Lin Caisang smiled and thanked her, again looking at Uncle Jin.

"Uncle Jin, I’ve seen there are still some wastelands to the north of the village, are they owned by anyone?"

Upon hearing this, Uncle Jin looked up at the sky, thought for a moment, and quickly realized what Lin Caisang was referring to. Then he shook his head.

"No one owns them. Those wastelands are quite abundant because they’re pretty far from the village. Even walking there takes quite a while, and wild beasts often come down."

With plots closer to the village, who would want to go there? That’s why those lands weren’t sold.

"The main reason used to be that the land was quite low-lying, so it was prone to flooding."

But not anymore, as the village has dug canals, making flooding unlikely now.
