"It’s really a pity, these elixirs on the ground, there’re at least twenty bottles," Shisan said with regret.
"It doesn’t matter, let the bureau deal with this headache, maybe they have an expert who can distinguish them," Li Qing said, "Let’s go, let’s check out other places!"
"Alright."
The two, who were a bit nervous before, were still somewhat tense after their recent find, but more filled with confidence.
If the finds up ahead were so rich, wouldn’t the main chamber behind have even more valuable things?
But, Li Qing regretfully discovered, there was no "behind."
This was all there was to the tomb.
The two of them searched every place thoroughly but did not find the main chamber.
"That’s not right, by all accounts there should be a main chamber behind this, how can it only be this big?" Li Qing muttered, puzzled, "Even if it’s just this big, by rights there should still be a coffin at least, it can’t just be empty, right?"
"Brother Li, is it possible that the cat ate the corpse in the stone coffin?" Shisan cautiously said.
Li Qing shook his head, "Even if a cat could gnaw off a body, it couldn’t possibly eat the clothes as well. The inside of that stone coffin was clean, aside from that cat there’s only a few clumps of cat hair."
"If that’s the case, there’s probably only one possibility. This is one of the accompanying burial pits, the main chamber should be elsewhere, we just haven’t found it, surely there are other mechanisms," Shisan said.
Li Qing sighed with a face full of regret, "Let’s go, we should withdraw, neither of us has that kind of skill, let’s find professionals."
Regretful as they were, neither of them had the ability, so they could only let it go.
When Li Qing and Shisan came up from the underground, a cordon had already been set up outside, and a large crowd of people was waiting.
"Qingzi, what’s the situation inside?" Wang Baichuan walked over quickly, with Director Jia following behind him.
Li Qing glanced around and said in a low voice, "Inside, there’s an orange cat that’s become a spirit, incredibly strong, I couldn’t catch it, it slipped away. We also couldn’t find the main chamber; it seems we need to seek experts."
"Also, there’s a vast amount of treasure buried underneath, ranging from worldly gold, silver, and antiques to various medicinal herbs. But the herbs have been almost completely ravaged by that cat. We suspect it became a spirit by consuming those mixed medicines, but currently, there isn’t any way to confirm this."
"You’ll need to bring in professionals to locate the main chamber and clear out the interior. I will also report this to the bureau and dispatch personnel."
Wang Baichuan slammed a fist onto Li Qing’s shoulder, "Good lad, you’ve done us proud again, then let’s each go our own way."
"Oh, and when the archaeologists arrive, it’s best not to rush into action, that cat is no small matter," Li Qing advised.
Now that he was in charge of the Ninth Bureau’s sideline, he didn’t want to incur any extra responsibilities, so he still had to issue a warning.
"I got it," Wang Baichuan nodded heavily.
After Director Jia came over, Li Qing discussed the details of the underground situation with him before he and Shisan left Wushi Pu Village.
Strictly speaking, Li Qing didn’t have to report to him, but it was reasonable to understand some details.
Wang Baichuan arranged a car to take the two back to the county.
On the way back, neither of them said anything superfluous until they reached the county hospital, where they found a secluded spot to sit down and divide the spoils.
No matter what the elixirs were intended for, the haul was substantial.
"Brother Li, we must be rich now, right?" Shisan was so excited his face had gone red.
Li Qing laughed softly, and patted his shoulder, whispering, "Good stuff needs to be hidden, we’re not there yet, it’s too early to talk about getting rich. Don’t show off all your gains to your master and senior sister when you get back; take it out a little at a time, reduce the risks."
Shisan nodded like a pecking chick, "Still, Senior Brother is the sly one, I get it now. I’ll heed your teachings!"
Li Qing was speechless. Why did that not sound like a compliment, and more like a curse?
Even though the two were of a similar age, Shisan had grown up in the deep forests and mountains, severely lacking in social experience.
Compared to Li Qing, who had traveled far and wide and interacted with all kinds of people, he was practically a child.
After dividing the loot, the two went to the gynecology department together.

The door to Xu Keqing’s office was wide open, and around it were several women who had come for a consultation.
When they saw Li Qing and Shisan, two men, appear, each of them looked at them with strange eyes.
Li Qing ignored them and led Shisan straight into the office.
Xu Keqing was examining a patient. When she saw Li Qing come in, a hint of reproach flashed through her bright eyes, and then she gestured to the chairs on the side, indicating for Li Qing to take a seat and rest for a while.
"Shisan, take a seat first!" Li Qing offered the chair to Shisan.
His gaze swept around and noticed a box of alcohol tucked away in a corner by Xu Keqing.
After removing the outer packaging bag, Li Qing crammed the package he was carrying into it.
He really didn’t have any extra pockets to carry those bottles and jars, so after splitting the loot, he had to wrap them up in his clothes.
Xu Keqing finished diagnosing the patient and asked the others to wait a little longer. Then, with a face full of resentment, she said to Li Qing, "You finally deign to show up?"
"You know... I’ve already explained it to you," Li Qing said weakly.
This lady was particularly fiery today.
"The patient you sent over is pretty. Which number is she for you?" Xu Keqing asked sourly, hands in her pockets.
Li Qing chuckled helplessly, "That’s his sister. We just happened to have something to do together today, and since I don’t know any other doctors, I had them come here. It has nothing to do with me."
The term ’Senior Sister’ felt a bit odd in the secular world, so Li Qing simplified it on the fly.
"Really nothing to do with you?" Xu Keqing raised an eyebrow and asked.
"There really isn’t anything!" Li Qing said.
Xu Keqing glanced sideways at Li Qing and huffed, "Come with me, I’ll take you to the ward. The needles have all been removed, and there aren’t any serious issues, but she does need to rest for a couple of days, so I’ve arranged for her to be admitted."
"Thanks, Doctor!" Shisan said obediently.
"No need to thank me, it’s what I should do," Xu Keqing said, leading them to the door of a ward, "You guys go in. I’ve still got some things to take care of on my side, I’ll come over after I’m done."
Li Qing let Shisan go in first but caught hold of Xu Keqing’s arm, "Feeling a lot of resentment today?"
"What do you think!" Xu Keqing glared and said.
Li Qing smiled, "Find a place, and I’ll work you to exhaustion tonight!"
"No, I want it now," Xu Keqing pouted and said.
