Chapter 559: Chapter 559: A Minor Revenge_1

Even though things had reached this point, Han Mei was still very reserved.

She even seemed more shy than Wu Xingxing.

Just when Li Qing felt he had nearly succeeded, and Han Mei had also entered that state, preparing to take further action and test how long he could last with his sister-in-law after consuming the Solidifying Spirit Elixir.

Han Mei suddenly slipped away.

She left him with a "Don’t mess around at noon!" and vanished immediately.

Li Qing looked at the empty bedside, stunned for quite a while before he could recover.

Now, there were only the three of them at home, and Wu Xingxing wouldn’t have any objections—she might even help set the scene.

Why did she run away?

Li Qing smiled wryly with a sense of resignation, covered himself with the quilt, and went to sleep.

Fortunately, his attitude towards these kinds of things wasn’t so urgent anymore.

If it had been in the past, given his current state, he would surely have nursed all kinds of chaotic thoughts, feeling unbearable.

He slept till past three in the afternoon, got up, washed his face, and wandered over to the village office.

He had to settle accounts with that damn woman Qin Wenjun.

What kind of person was she?!

When he walked into the village office, it was bustling with many people coming and going for their business.

Li Qing glanced at Qin Wenjun’s office; most of the people were gathered there.

It didn’t seem like a good time to take action.

Li Qing wandered back out, planning to come back after work.

Not taking revenge was absolutely impossible.

But exactly how to take revenge, Li Qing still hadn’t figured out yet.

Just as he was about to go to the small shop and sit for a while, Qi Junhou suddenly called.

The Solidifying Spirit Elixir and Immortality Elixir had all been sold, and the money was transferred to Qi Mengru’s account.

From these few Elixirs, Li Qing pocketed a neat six million, instantly inflating his net worth.

This money, to Li Qing, felt like a dream.

When did making money become so easy? It was incredible.

When he was penniless, he tried everything to earn money, but at most, he could scarcely make tens of thousands.

Yet, once he had money, suddenly a small Xiao Ding enabled him to earn millions with little effort.

This must be the so-called law of attraction, where money begets money.

In the afternoon, Li Qing spent a peaceful afternoon as the assistant manager at the grocery store with Wu Xingxing, enjoying a rare moment of tranquility and incidentally discussing life with Han Mei and Wu Xingxing.

This time, they had a proper conversation about the future, without any messing around.

Although Li Qing had some ideas, Han Mei wasn’t willing mainly.

After the last incident, she was determined not to give Li Qing any chance to take advantage of her here.

Han Mei, who was naturally bashful, had broken new ground last time, but it also made her more resistant.

Now, she was fine with it at home behind closed doors, but here, it was absolutely impossible.

After six in the evening, the village office closed.

Han Mei also went home to cook.

Li Qing found an excuse, told Wu Xingxing he was going to take a stroll, and sneaked into the village office.

The sun set in the west, and Qin Wenjun’s office had a perfect view of the sprawling sunset.

This was, without a doubt, an excellent office for enjoying the view.

Even though the scenery was the same every day, at least there was something to be seen.

Li Qing stood sneakily by the window, looking inside, and happened to meet Qin Wenjun’s eyes.

She was watching the sunset on the horizon.

Li Qing’s lips curled into a mocking smile as she walked into the office.

Seeing Li Qing, Qin Wenjun couldn’t help but feel a bit nervous, "Why have you come?"

"Why do you think I’ve come? You, a woman who spreads rumors and sows discord, don’t you think you should take some responsibility for what happened to me?" Li Qing pulled over a chair and sat down next to Qin Wenjun. "I almost got thrown out today, so what do you say we should do about it?"

Qin Wenjun let out a snort of laughter, clearly taking some petty pleasure in the situation.

"That’s what you deserve, it has nothing to do with me."

Li Qing’s face immediately darkened, "There was absolutely nothing, and yet you insisted there was, even volunterring to be an eyewitness. You’ve made my sister-in-law and Xingxing so mad at me today; they were like roosters with their hackles up, giving me a thorough dressing down, and now I can’t even calm them down."

"Don’t you feel any guilt at all?"

Qin Wenjun’s lips twitched with barely contained laughter, her chin tilted up slightly, "I only stated the facts, I never said you actually did anything. But everyone in old Tongcheng knows what that place is for, I didn’t tell any lies."

"You didn’t lie, but did you see me looking for women there?" Li Qing said, her irritation growing as she spoke.

"In any case, not many respectable people go there," Qin Wenjun said with a huff.

Li Qing was amused despite herself.

True, he did go there last night, and indeed, he had quite the wild time.

But he didn’t like Qin Wenjun’s prejudgments at all.

"I hear you like women, don’t you, Secretary Qin?" Li Qing said through gritted teeth.

Qin Wenjun knew Li Qing had been aware of this for a while and didn’t bother hiding it, admitting frankly, "Yeah, is there a problem?"

"So, by that logic, you must really dislike men, right?" Li Qing asked.

"Not really dislike, but it’s true I’m not fond of them," Qin Wenjun said.

"Oh, is that so? Well, what do you think would happen if I were to, you know, do something to you?" Li Qing said with a sinister smile.

Qin Wenjun was momentarily taken aback, then burst out laughing, "With the law being so strict nowadays, would you dare?"

"I wouldn’t dare!" Li Qing shook his head. "Besides, you don’t have much to offer, so I’m not interested."

"Pressing you down on the bed, it would be no different from handling a skeleton, likely not only uncomfortable but also painful."

Qin Wenjun’s face instantly turned as black as ink. She thrust her chest out defiantly and glared, articulating each word, "Are you blind? Are you blind?!"

"I’m not blind, just fine," Li Qing chuckled with a smirk. "Even though I said I wouldn’t dare, I could always offer money."

"There are always brave men beneath heavy rewards. If I put up a hundred thousand yuan, someone would probably be willing to mess with your bag of bones. Since you’re an old Tongcheng local, you should know what Lü Zong relied on to make his start, and have some knowledge of all sorts of people."

"If a hundred thousand isn’t enough, then I’ll go two hundred thousand, three hundred thousand. No, I could put up a whole five hundred thousand in one go, have someone kidnap you to some godforsaken place and sell you. I might even break even."

"I’ve heard about a place that’s very scary, that does these utterly conscienceless deeds."

Qin Wenjun’s expression immediately tensed up, and it was clear she was frightened.

Still, she stubbornly sneered, "Five hundred thousand, do you have that much money?"

Li Qing gave a nonchalant smile, "Well, believe it or not, I actually do have the money, and the right connections to make it happen."

"Over the next few days, spend some time with your parents, friends, and such. After all, we’ve been acquainted for a while; I should give you some time."

"Later on, you probably won’t get to see such beautiful sunsets anymore, what a pity."
