Chapter 1161: Another History Class.

Right before Alec stood the same old man who had recruited him into the Wilderness region, the same man who had not really given him much information about this new realm.

Alec had believed that after coming to this realm, they would be placed under some kind of powerful figure, someone who would take care of them and guide them, and then before they knew it, they would be able to enter the high ranks and even learn how to become Monarch-rank mages in time.

Or at the very least, he had expected to be told more about what they needed to know and what the Monarch realm truly was.

But right now, apart from the fact that all he had done was trade one blood moon battlefield for another while having to take care of even more people who now saw him as their lord, Alec was basically just pushing forward and playing lord without understanding nearly seventy percent of what he was doing.

Luckily for him, his system had been able to hack into the City Heart and turn it into a more understandable format for him.

And as much as it had made everything feel more like a strategy game, Alec still believed there were a few key pieces of information he was missing, and those things could only be answered by the man standing before him.

“I have to say, I’m surprised by how quickly you were able to take care of the problem that has been eating away at me for a while,” the old man said.

But Alec didn’t say a word, he simply waited for the man to finish whatever he wanted to say, the reason he had swiftly stopped Connan’s hand when he started drawing his blade was because Alec knew too well that there was nothing they could do to the man in front of them.

He clearly remembered the last time he had seen him. Back then, the old man had been dressed in ragged-looking clothes, holding a walking stick and giving off the aura of a Tier 7 mage.

Though, even at that time, Alec had not thought too much about it because he never believed for a second that the old man before him was truly just a Tier 7 mage.

However, the man standing before him now was still the same person, but he was no longer giving off any aura at all which showed his high control on his visible realm, and he was also dressed in a clean robe that had golden dragons on them, with a beautiful walking cane in his hand.

“I want you to tell me properly. What exactly are we doing here? I mean, why would envoys from this realm, as you call them, go all the way to our continent to recruit mages? And not just any mages, but mages with such low realms?” Alec finally couldn’t hold it in anymore and decided to ask the question that had been bothering him for a while.

“Hmmm, I see. Normally, I’m too lazy to explain the real reason behind the envoys’ actions to the lords under me, but you, Alec Gordons, have gotten rid of an orc pest that encroached on my land for a while which all the lords under me are incapable of taking care of, and one I couldn’t act against due to certain circumstances.”

“So here is the story. I’m sure you have been here for a while now, what is the one thing you have noticed about these cities that were given to you all to manage?” the old man asked.

That question made Alec pause, because he didn’t know how he was supposed to answer it, he was pretty sure he was an anomaly, considering how much his system had interfered with everything he did.

However, after a few seconds, he still replied because despite the fact that he believed he got things easier he was still aware of the fact that his system still followed the normal patterns of the origin realm.

“Every city seems to change and tailor itself to match the lord who inhabits it,” Alec answered.

“Good! Now, I want you to picture this, what qualities do you think the envoys were looking for when picking their top hundred mages?”

“Well, I think they were looking for talented individuals. They didn’t mind giving those with talent a second chance if they messed up, or even placing them above others who had defeated them,” Alec answered.

This time, as he thought about what had happened to him, he couldn’t help but chuckle.

“Well, there you have it. For a mage to assimilate with a lord rank City Heart, they must be either a Tier 6 or Tier 7 mage, which means, since we can only recruit mages in that realm, we definitely had to choose only the best. Do you understand now? Because the more exceptional they are, the better the cities they inhabit can develop.”

“and there are actually ranks above that, the king rank and the emperor rank. In order to become a human king, you must level up your city to the fourth level using faith crystals or steady accumulation by pouring your mana into your city heart, and you must also be a Tier 8 mage. Otherwise, you will never become a human king and will only remain a human lord even if you have a level four city heart, as of then you can’t call it city heart again too but kingdom heart,” the old man started explaining.

But Alec was already getting confused, so he raised his hand.

“Wait! What do you mean by faith crystals? What are those? And second, what do you mean by human king?”

“This is why I literally don’t like explaining things. It’s such a drag. I’m sure you must have seen something called faith points in the system that has connected itself to you, right?”

“Yes, I have!”

“Well, you see, that is the only thing that can allow you to enter the Monarch realm easily every other options are the hard ones and then they can also help in upgrading your sub cities level in case you don’t want to expand outward that way your main city heart can still level as long as the subs increases in level many lords prefer this as its called quality over quantity but then no one really has that much faith point to experiment with only a city population. Wait, I’m going too fast. Let me run it back and explain it simply for you.”

“Thousands of years ago, the human species ruled one part of the lands, the Protoss ruled one part, the demons ruled one part, the abyss races ruled one part, the fanatics ruled one part, and lastly, the Zerg which are controlled by a single Hive mind, ruled one part.”

“Each group and race served as a balance against the others, and more often than not, they would sometimes join hands to pressure the Zerg race because the Zerg were the most powerful. They were chaotic by nature and loved to devour every race they came across.”

“However, while humans were part of the alliance, many did not consider us worthy, and we were constantly pushed aside.”

“Then one day, a great war occurred, and the Zerg targeted the humans, they became especially interested in devouring humans because they realized that not only were we the weakest link in the alliance against them, but the Zerg Queen also discovered that whenever her spawned abominations devoured humans, they became more intelligent, smarter, and more cunning after taking humanoid forms.”

“And so, many humans were captured. She devoured them, extracted and stored their DNA, then used it to merge with some of the Zerg bloodlines she possessed in order to create a Zerg King.”

“From that moment on, many could no longer stand the Zerg. Under the leadership of the Zerg King, they became far more powerful than before. And as if that wasn’t enough, his existence also served as a wake-up call for the other races to join together for one final battle to send them away.”

“That war was so intense that many fragments of the Origin Realm broke apart, the protoss realm is said to have gone higher while the demon’s own went below, as for the rest smaller fragments they are shared between the remaining race, with one of those fragments being the small continent you came from. Now, fast forward. The war eventually ended with the Zerg Queen being forced into space. However...”
