Chapter 317: Purple
Shortly after the golden tower rose gloriously before them—its hundred stories stretching for hundreds of meters—a small golden key materialized out of nowhere, floating calmly in front of Ethan.
Reaching out, he plucked it from the air, holding it between his fingers as he studied the small object for a brief moment, his eyes flicking over the information displayed on its status screen.
The key was a magical artifact crafted specifically for mages, and since Ethan didn’t have a single drop of mana in his body, he couldn’t even activate it.
Turning his head, he handed it to Alice, her pale, delicate fingers closing firmly around the small golden artifact.
All it took was a thin thread of mana flowing through the key for her eyes to shine brightly.
The artifact would allow her not only to control every part of the tower but also to teleport freely throughout its many floors.
"Let’s take a look around," Ethan said, pulling Alice to his right and Veronica to his left.
His strong fingers settled naturally around their slender, delicate waists, the soft warmth of their skin bleeding through the light fabric of their clothes.
His fingertips sank slightly into the gentle, feminine curve that flowed down toward their firm hips.
Together, the three of them stepped into the golden tower, immediately greeted by the dense, magic-laden air that filled its interior.
They first arrived at a huge circular hall. Right at its center hovered a peculiar artifact—essentially a floating white sphere suspended serenely in the air, glowing with a soft, otherworldly light.
The entire place was immense, bounded by circular walls where two wide staircases curved elegantly up to the second floor, each step gleaming with a faint golden sheen.

Despite its size, the first floor was almost empty, featuring only a few counters that apparently served as reception and administrative offices.
Aside from that, the only thing that truly caught their attention was the white sphere hovering silently at the center of the hall.
"Oh... it’s an affinity-measuring artifact!" Alice exclaimed with an excited laugh, her eyes sparkling with pure recognition.
She had already read about artifacts like that in her spellbook. They were so rare that even the Brown Tower possessed only a fragment of one—and even that fragment was highly inefficient.
It took just a single glance for Alice, with her immense talent, to identify exactly what the artifact was and just how rare it truly was.
"Come on, Veronica, give it a try! Just press your hand against the sphere," Alice said with a beaming smile, gesturing eagerly to her companion.
Veronica nodded, carefully letting go of Ethan’s arm before walking hesitantly toward the white sphere.
Upon reaching the artifact, she extended a single hand, her delicate fingers gently pressing against the smooth, slightly cool surface.
In the next moment, exactly three lights lit up, each with nine levels indicating affinity with a magical element.
Veronica achieved seven levels in fire, four in nature, and one in metal.
Seven levels was an incredible result, achieved by only one person in every hundred thousand.
Of course, in Goldenveil, where the proportion of talented individuals was extremelly high, the rarity of seven levels diminished considerably, but it still placed her at the very top.
"Your turn now, Lady Alice," Veronica said as she stepped back, a satisfied smile forming on her lips.
Seven out of nine in a primary element was definitely not bad at all.
Alice didn’t hesitate, stepping forward and pressing her hand gently against the artifact.
Immediately, a bright light lit up, followed by another, and then yet another, showing no sign of stopping.
Fire, nine levels.
Ice, nine levels.
Wind, nine levels.

Nature, nine levels.
Light, nine levels.
Darkness, nine levels.
Metal, nine levels.
...
The list continued until, after surpassing twenty elements at maximum affinity, Alice finally withdrew her hand.
The entire hall seemed bathed in the glow of all those lights, each burning at its highest level.
She still felt she had many more high-level affinities left to discover, but these artifacts were delicate by nature.
She didn’t want to risk damaging it just to satisfy her curiosity.
When Alice turned to Ethan and Veronica, both greeted her with looks full of admiration and pride, especially Ethan, who shook his head, still somewhat incredulous at the result.
His Alice was truly incredible.
"Try it now, husband! Even if you don’t have a mana heart, you must still have some magical affinity," Alice said excitedly, making room for him in front of the sphere.
Ethan, also overcome by curiosity, stepped forward and pressed his hand against the orb.
In the next moment, a single light lit up across seven levels, glowing in a deep, slightly pinkish shade of purple.
"Uh? What does that mean? Lightning?" he asked, turning to Alice and Veronica with genuine curiosity.
Seeing them both blush almost immediately, their cheeks tinged with a soft, bashful pink, he could already guess what it was about.
"Some kind of sexual magic?"
"Yes... but... well..." Alice looked away, the blush on her face deepening even further. "Not what you’re thinking... you know those young men that rich, older women hire to entertain them, whether through sex or dancing? Well... it’s that kind of sexual magic..."
At that moment, Ethan felt an enormous sense of relief wash over him.

He had truly been blessed to have awakened an aura heart instead of a mana heart...
He really didn’t want to end up as a male prostitute or a stripper just because of some magical affinity.
With a soft sigh, he simply continued exploring the magic tower alongside the two beautiful young women, deciding to pretend he’d never taken that test.
If it had at least been a type of magic similar to that of an incubus, he would have been satisfied, but damn... a magical affinity for being a stripper?
Hell nah, he’d rather die.
Fortunately, with his aura heart, he was an unstoppable swordsman.
Soon, the three of them climbed to the next floors, examining the many laboratories, magical greenhouses, and dormitories scattered throughout the tower.
The magical greenhouse in particular made Ethan very happy, since it was far superior to the one he’d built previously, rendering his old greenhouse basically useless by comparison.
Fortunately, he could simply give it to some mages so they could form their own magical herb production company, further boosting Goldenveil’s economy.
Their exploration didn’t last long. Upon reaching the fiftieth floor—where the magic tower’s library was located—Alice and Veronica became so engrossed in that vast sea of books that they completely forgot about exploring.
Not wanting to disturb them, Ethan simply placed a gentle kiss on each of their lips before quietly leaving, stepping into one of the tower’s three elevators.
It was time to build his divine forge.
