As he read through the notifications floating before his eyes, Ethan let out a heavy sigh, shaking his head as a wry half-smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

His mother really was the best mother in the world, wasn’t she?

Just the thought of receiving seven million two hundred fifty thousand gold coins was enough to make his face flush with excitement, and that was without even counting the rewards attached to the mission itself.

The idea of fucking his half-sisters and stepmothers barely crossed his mind, as he was thinking about something much more important.

"The main wife isn’t coming, is she?" he asked, turning his gaze toward Ron.

David had a main wife and four concubines.

Of the ten children he had fathered, six were by his primary wife—all sons—while the four daughters were born to his concubines.

The fact that she wasn’t included pleased Ethan, since David’s primary wife was such an hedonistic glutton that, even though she had reached the third stage and possessed the ability to burn calories with her aura, she was simply incapable of losing weight.

She weighed over two hundred kilograms, her body shaped like a wisdom tooth. Ethan would rather fail the entire mission than even consider touching her.

On top of that, the woman was extremely cruel.

She had even lost her left hand while trying to gouge out one of Ethan’s eyes during a fit of rage, all because he’d tried to protect one of his sisters who’d stained her dress.

Amelia, obviously, hadn’t been happy about that at all.

She would have killed that sadistic bitch on the spot if Maerick hadn’t intervened in time, allowing her only to take one of the woman’s hands as punishment.

"No, she managed to escape. Apparently, your mother wasn’t interested in dragging around a 200-kilo pig, hahahaha!" Ron let out a hoarse laugh, and Ethan couldn’t help but join him.

He wasn’t the kind of scum who would judge a woman just because she wasn’t easy on the eyes. But when the woman in question was herself a piece of human trash, that hardly mattered.

"Ah... your mom should be here soon. She’s been busy with some royal questions, but from what I’ve heard, she’s already on her way." Ron paused, settling back into the couch.

"Given how much the Cadia and Darkwall families paid Amelia, you won’t have to worry about money anytime soon."

"With a place like Goldenveil? That fortune will be drained in a month or two," Ethan replied, pulling a bottle of Green Fairy Wine from his spatial ring and setting it carefully on the glass table at the center of the office, surrounded by the sofas where they sat.

He poured a glass for himself and another for Ron, the emerald liquid gliding down the crystal with a slow, subtle viscosity.

"Soon, I will start a great war. Many will die." He raised the glass to his lips, taking a sip.

"What empire hasn’t been forged through many deaths?" Ron replied with a slight shrug, mimicking the gesture.

As the wine touched his tongue, his eyes drifted closed for a moment, savoring that divine flavor.

Ethan set the glass back on the table. "I need your help with something. Goldenveil needs engineers, teachers, doctors, masters of magical arrays, competent architects... as well as any hardworking men and women you can find.

When you return to the Kingdom of Solene and the Kingdom of the Burning Ice, I want you to use your chamber of commerce to recruit as many of these people as possible. Two, three, four thousand—as many as you can get.

I’ll take care of everything once they arrive. High salaries, an good quality of life, and lavish homes for everyone, without exception."

For a moment, Ron remained silent, his fingers tapping lightly against the side of his glass.

"Lavish homes for four thousand people..." He raised an eyebrow. "You’re promising a lot. If you can’t deliver, you know there’ll be an angry mob knocking on your door, right?

Getting four thousand people wasn’t the problem in itself. The real difficulty lay in finding skilled labor, especially teachers and array masters."

"Pay whatever it takes. I’ll take responsibility for the rest," Ethan stated, his tone firm.

Goldenveil’s only school needed to be expanded, and a new one had to be built in Windmere. He had already been training teachers, but it would still take two or three years before they were truly capable of taking over a classroom in any subject.

"Ah... and how many teachers do you need?" Ron asked, curious.

"At least a hundred," Ethan replied, pulling a thick document from his inventory. "This is a list of everything I want you to buy for me. All the professionals I need are on there, too."

Ron took the list and stood up. "Very well. Take me to see what you have to offer me today. I want to start organizing everything as soon as possible."

Ethan nodded, rising alongside his friend.

The two walked side by side toward the palace warehouse, where Elena had already organized everything with her usual efficiency.

As they passed through the heavy doors, a wave of cool air, faintly scented with magical herbs, washed over them.

More than one hundred thousand magical herbs filled the room, arranged in carefully organized rows. Among them, a thousand had been handpicked by Alice, each one no less valuable than third-stage Green Fairy Wine.

Beside them, seventy magical cores pulsed with energy, twenty of which were supreme magical cores.

Accompanying the treasure was a total of ten thousand bottles of Green Fairy Wine, of which one thousand were third-stage, two thousand were second-stage, and the rest were first-stage.

It took only a moment for the smile to vanish completely from Ron’s face.

All of that was undoubtedly worth more than a million... no...

The moment he assessed the quality of those magic cores and herbs—and also noticed the thousands of metric tons of various magical crops stacked at the back of the warehouse—his heart began to race.

Even at the best price he could negotiate, none of it would go for less than two million gold coins!
