Chapter 59: Unbeknownst to her

Tsundria was still dictating him on what to write.

"I’m currently planning to stay behind diverting their attention so Tsundria can come and bring me some back up," she said.

Upon hearing this, Edmund was sure of one thing. She wanted to kill him. She was forcing him to send this message so it would be easy for her to return alone and fool the others.

Or, was she? Maybe she was trying to show him that if she wanted she would kill him, and that no one would blame her for it.

’Damn!’

Nevertheless, Edmund just laughed at her, inwardly. He had the Movable Invisible. Nothing was going to happen to him while with it.

"I’m done!" he said, secretly testing his invisible weapon. There were vines overgrown around the entrance to the cave. He gave it a mental command to go there. For some reason, he could sense its movements and location.

However, it was taking a toll on his brain and demanding his full concentration. Since he needed to keep an eye on Tsundria’s each and every move, he decided to activate one of its enhancements. As you Wish.

He could clearly remember the description of this enhancement.

[Enhancement: As you Wish.]

[Enhancement description: While carrying out its duties, you must choose to see this dagger or not. However, a powerful opponent can also be able to see it if you put it in visible mode. Do as you want!]

Because Edmund didn’t know how powerful Tsundria was, activating this enhancement was a bit risky. There was a possibility that she would see it floating in the air. That would make his situation hopeless.

However, he was not yet familiar with this invisible weapon. Trying to direct and detect its movements using mental sense was something that required him too much concentration, something he didn’t have now because of the ongoing conversation with Tsundria.

This is why activating that enhancement seemed wise. He could always deactivate it, right? Why would he even make the dagger float in front of her? Backstabbing her was still an option.

Edmund took a step to hand the letter to her, but the Venomous Beauty stepped away from him.

"Take another step and I’ll release the arrow!"

Edmund could understand why she was wary of him. In a world where people had weapons hidden in their Soul Seas, in a world where people had some special abilities like Fire Ball or what, your enemy could surprise you at any time. Keeping an interval between you two was the only wise decision.

Edmund knew better not to take her threats as a joke. The last time he did so, an arrow had almost passed through his thigh.

"Hey!" He said, stepping back. "I was trying to give you the paper. Did you make me write it so I can eat it?"

"Roll it and place it on the ground!"

He obeyed her command, rolled the letter into a scroll and placed it on the ground.

"Step back!"

Edmund did as told. This was buying him time to test the efficiency of the Movable Invisible, after all.

As a response to his mental commands, the dagger was busy cutting down some of the vines overgrown around the entrance with accuracy and precision that Edmund even doubted if he could be able to do it with such accuracy if he had it in his hands.

’Perfect!’

Meanwhile, when Tsundria told Edmund to step back, she put both her bow and arrow in her left hand, a mist of white sparks enveloping them a second later. Before they could fully disappear, Edmund saw a familiar red and long thing appearing in her right hand.

’She’s going to tie me again, dam... ’

He couldn’t finish his thought. The red rope flew in his direction swirling as if it was possessed and engulfed his body from the neck to the feet. Luckily, this time, he did not fall on the ground. It was not so tight.

"Aha haha! I like that look on your face!"

Tsundria said with a giggle. Unbeknownst to her, Edmund was pretending to be shocked and afraid. Instead, he was internally in a dilemma of whether to kill her or not.

If he wanted, he would give the Movable Invisible a command and her head would fall to the ground a second later.

"Yeah! Kill her!" The Goddess of Beauty’s voice rang inside his head. "She’s gone too far. Who knows what she would do next?"

The Goddess was right. But,

’No! We’re here to tame, remember?’

Edmund tried to remind the goddess why he was here. He was here to tame, not to kill. This didn’t mean that he would not kill any of the Venomous Beauties. He would rather kill than die. However, that would be a last resort. Now, he just needed to keep his guard high and see what Tsundria wanted to achieve with this letter.

He ended up deciding to use his mouth.

"The look on your face is also adorable," he replied.

She was confused.

"You like people when they’re angry?"

"Angry?"

He chuckled.

"I don’t see anger on your face! There’s fear, doubt and guilt. You’re in a dilemma. That’s why you haven’t killed me yet."

Edmund was indeed seeing fear, doubt and guilt on her face but it was too complex for him to be sure. When she reacted though, he knew he was right.

"Fear? Oh my!" She tried to laugh it off but Edmund was not a fool.

"Who would I be afraid of? Oh! Kid, don’t be too full of yourself. I’m yet to kill you because I am yet to gain what I want from you. That’s why you’re still alive. Now, give me the sword if you don’t want to test my patience!"

Edmund felt like telling her that there was a knife floating behind her neck ready to slash through if he gave it a command, but he decided against it and just burst out laughing.

"Who told you it’s your patience keeping me alive? Go on and do what you want. I’m not giving you anything."

Tsundria went silent and just went to pick up the letter. She proceeded to inserting it inside the portal and then gave him a prolonged stare.

Without saying anything, she took a few steps away from him, summoned both her bow and the arrow. She then pulled a piece of cloth from inside her choker and threw it toward Edmund.

"Draw a portal on that cloth and another one on the ground so you’ll be able to tell me when you’re ready!"

Edmund raised his eyebrows.

"Ready for what?"

The red rope was already dissolving into sparks and the tip of her arrow was staring at his forehead. One mistake and he would be dead... or she would be dead.

"I’m going to leave you here alone. I’ll come to rescue you only if you send me the sword."

"That sounds a bit wise!" he told her, sarcastically. He was doing as she had instructed to show that he was not afraid of whatever she was saying.

"We’ll see if you will still say those words after a day or more of starvation and loneliness."

This would indeed be something that could convince Edmund to give up the Dreadful Dagger. There’s no way he could starve to death for the sake of keeping it.

It was a wise move.

However, if she was planning to tie him up and leave him here, he had the Movable Visible to cut down her rope. If she thought he had no way to return back to others, he had Purple Bubbles. He could use them and sail into the skies to cross the canyon.

Maybe Tsundria had considered them something to only help him float in the air, forgetting that the other side of the cliff was on a platform lower than this one they were standing on. He only needed to glide toward it with the help of the bubbles.

"Oh mommy, this kid is scared!" There was a mockery grin on his face.

Tsundria ignored his mockery words and tied him once again. The next second, all around her, a sparkling cloud shimmered, then her griffin appeared with her already sitting on top of its back.

"Let me warn you," she said, pushing her griffin toward him. It slowed down as she pointed her index finger at him. "You have until evening. If you have not sent the sword yet, I’ll kill that maid of yours." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

She was talking about Gillian.

These words forced Edmund to glance at the sky. The sun was burning hot over his head.

’It’s noon!’

He thought.

’I still have a lot of time.’

Though his bubbles were not like Tsundria’s griffin, he knew it would be only a matter of 40 to 70 minutes to glide over the canyon and reach the other side of the canyon. Once there, he would give Tsundria the shock of her life. Plus, she would not dare to attack him in front of Peony, Gillian and the rest.

Thinking about this only brought a smile on his face.

’Here we go!’
