Chapter 47: I’m Doomed!

Peony had told Edmund that the beauties were at war, some trying to eliminate each other to absorb their powers. He couldn’t just believe he was going to be a victim of this war.

Well, what was he going to do about it? Tsundria had already flipped her griffin in an attempt to send him plummeting into the nothingness below. He had nothing else to do except fighting for his life.

’I didn’t come here to die!’

Edmund held onto her slim waist as if his hands had a super glue to them, intertwining his fingers to make sure his arms would remain wrapped around her body.

"Can’t we talk about this?" he tried to reason with her but the beauty had already made up her mind. To her, he was someone working under her enemy, Skylark.

She had to remove him.

"There’s no talking about it. Tell me if it’s Skylark or what."

"Or what? What if it’s not Skylark? Are you going to stop your stupid attempts to kill me before even hearing my side of the story?"

Edmund did not know who that goddamned Skylark was and why she was Tsundria’s prime suspect. Whatever the reason, something dreadful was about to come out of it.

A survival battle.

A battle he had no much chances of winning.

"Of course it won’t change anything," she answered his question. "I will still eliminate you. I just want to know who I should get my revenge from."

’Damn!’

"But I’m not after your life," he tried to explain himself. He wanted her to know that he was just a boy with no ill intention but to tame her.

Well, this statement would instead add fuel into fire.

’Let’s try another way!’

’I’m just a boy, blessed and with a potential to become the next God of Desires so I want to take away your shard to achieve it.’

’Damn! This also can’t work. What am I supposed to say then?’

As Edmund was busy brainstorming different ideas on how to make peace with the austere beauty, the mighty griffin made another flip. This time, it was so fast and double-revolutionered to make sure Edmund would fall.

Fortunately, he was no longer a weak weakling. Peony had infused him with some of her powers. The very reason he managed to stay on board thanks to his now strong body. Sadly, he knew this was not going to last for long because the situation was getting worse and worse with Tsundria’s every attempt.

’What do I do? What do I do?’

Edmund’s mind went into a spin hoping to hit a jackpot for a trick out of this situation.

Nothing came. It was as if his mind had too many ideas, all of them formless.

’Come on! I’m an Arcane Trickster. There must be a way. I have to...’

In the middle of this thought, his mind received a notification. He had remembered something. Purple Bubbles. He immediately summoned the Legacy, a smile weaving itself onto his face.

A mist of white sparks enveloped his abdomen to form the bubble and...

’Dammit!’

Something more terrifying happened before the bubble could fully form.

The griffin made another flip.

This flip was not like the ones before. For this one, Tsundria bent the griffin on the right then back on the left side at the same time. As if this was not enough, she jerked it forward, stopped it midway and jerked it backwards.

This broke any inertia Edmund’s body had.

Tsundria had finally succeeded in her relentless attempts to shake him off her back.

His fingers slipped over her silky blue outfit until only their tips were on her body. That didn’t last long. Soon, they, too, slipped away.

Despite this, he didn’t panic. He was sure of one thing. He was not going to die. Though he was over a hundred meters away from Peony and the others, he had Purple bubbles to help him float in the air. The bubbles were also able to help him sail through the skies and return to land unscathed.

What if Tsundria decided to use more means to eliminate him? Well, let’s not think about it.

As the interval gradually formed between him and Tsundria, Edmund’s arms remained outstretched toward her. That was until something he didn’t expect caught his eyes.

A purple string that connected him to Tsundria’s waist.

Wait!

Was it...

Hell yeah! He was too close to Tsundria when he summoned the bubbles. The Legacy might have assumed she was a friend of his or something and decided to save both of them, wrapping itself around both of their waists as a result.

Now, looking at it, Edmund didn’t know how to explain it. Would he say it was like giving two kids a big balloon, each pulling it into an opposite direction? At least that was the right description.

The bubble was elastic and stretched into a string when Tsundria pulled one end as she drove her griffin forward, Edmund pulling another end as he plummeted.

The purple string narrowed and narrowed as both Tsundria and him made it far away from the other, soon becoming difficult for him to fall because the bubble was approaching its elasticity limit.

Only a few seconds remained for the bubble to reach its limit.

As those seconds passed one after another, Tsundria decided to take a look at Edmund’s fall. She slowed her mighty griffin and turned around to have a glance.

Since the string was attached to her back, her turn accelerated the bubble to reach its elasticity limit. Then, both she and Edmund halted in their movements. Tsundria had a griffin so it gave her side too much force that didn’t make things easy for Edmund.

He shot toward her like a stone launched by a catapult, grabbing her firmly when his body smashed against hers. He was back to her griffin. However, something was different. His arms could not fully wrap around her. Did her waist enlarge?

’That’s ridiculous!’

With this thought, he dug his fingers into her body to hold himself while struggling to find the right place to grab. He didn’t want to fall into nothingness again.

"You pervert!"

Tsundria’s outburst made him realize what a terrible mistake he had made. He was holding her breasts. No wonder his arms could not fully wrap around her. It was her enormous chest, not her waist.

’I’m doomed!’
