Chapter 878: A Hunting Party.

He didn’t have the strength to contend with a rank 8 cultivator at this point. So he took one last look at Slav, who was still in the underground caves. Then he activated the Rewind Metac.

The Rewind Metac took him to the point in time when he left Crystal City. He was going in the direction of a nondescript forest. The underground caves were underneath this forest.

When the memories of the future fused with him, he sighed and thought, ’It seems that was a burst. I waited over an hour, but Slav didn’t take the bait. It seems I will have to try my luck with Time Traveler.’

After hesitating, he said, "I’ll just give it a shot. If it doesn’t work, I can return to give it another try when I’m strong enough to withstand the repercussions."

Then he entered the second dimension. But he didn’t go down into the river of death to meet Time Traveler. Instead, he went into the second heaven.

He still planned to meet with Time Traveler in this timeline. But he is wary of Time Traveler. Because of this, he thought that he needed a lot of strength before confronting the fallen Dao Lord.

He expects that he will have to fight Time Traveler even if he can meet him in the river of death because he has no intention to swear any oath not to attack Time Traveler and because he doesn’t have any plan to give Slav to Time Traveler in exchange for information. He would rather kill Slav than let the fallen Dao Lord successfully reincarnate. Since he doesn’t plan to swear an oath and exchange for the information he wants with lifespan either, that only leaves the option to get the information he wants by force.

If he will use force, then logic dictates that he gets a lot of the force to use. This is just common sense, which is why he is going to the second heaven to get the force he needs.

As for how he will meet Time Traveler face to face later, his attempt will be mainly based on luck. Once he is done in the second heaven, he will go down to the river of death to see if he will get lucky, and Time Traveler will allow him to enter the Cave Heaven like the first time he gained access.

Barring luck, he also planned to see if he could force his way into the Cave Heaven by going there in person, instead of in the form of a manifestation of Fenrir.

If any of these three don’t work, then he will use Slav as bait to make Time Traveler grant him access. He will threaten to kill Slav if Time Traveler doesn’t open up, and once Slav has served his purpose, the young master will be killed.

And if this still doesn’t work, then he will take the Rewind Metac so that Slav will be forced to awaken the Danger Sense Metac in the next timeline. Then he will use the Slav with the Danger Sense Metac to cooperate with Golden Sun.

He was thinking about his plans as he entered the second heaven. He thought about a lot of things, but the one thing he didn’t bother with was how to get prey into the second heaven for him to kill.

As it turned out, the problem of the lack of prey in the second heaven didn’t need him to work to fix. In fact, his mere presence in the second heaven was enough to fix this problem because throngs of divine beings came rushing after him into the hunting ground that he had picked.

He was like a host who had set up a banquet, but he didn’t bring any food. He only brought a table and empty plates.

This kind of behavior is bad for a host. Fortunately, the guests he invited brought a contribution of food. These guests were so generous that they brought various assortments of food for him to try out.

This was what went through his mind as he killed a rank 6 killer. After he took the Divine Metac of the killer and assimilated their Cave Heaven, he said, "Thank the heavens for generous guests."

Then he smacked his lips and said, "It is just a pity that their generosity has boundaries. If I eat too much, they will get stingy and run away with their food."

"Then again, I should not blame them for that. They are already doing me a favor by bringing food to the party. I should not ask for the privilege to eat everything without leaving them any room to enjoy themselves."

Because of the limited generosity of his guests, he couldn’t eat as much as he wanted. He couldn’t kill whoever he wanted, and he couldn’t devour just about anyone he encountered.

If his guests, who are actually his prey, realized that this was not a party and they were not guests here to have fun, they would become skiddish and leave the party. So in an attempt to elongate the parry for as long as possible, he avoided killing the really powerful divine beings for as long as possible.

He knew that this party wasn’t going to last forever, so instead of letting the party die on its own, he decided to determine when the party would end. This was why he didn’t kill Money Body when the rank 8 cultivator came to him and was captured.

He let Money Body simmer in the black cocoon while he went in search of the rank 8 strength cultivator who was leading the team of hunters from the Martial Body Sect.

While he was on the way to this rank 8 strength cultivator, he created nine manifestations of Fenrir. Then he sent these manifestations out to find and follow powerful rank 7 cultivators.

Clearly, he wanted to make one big swoop that would catch his guests off guard. So by the time they realize the truth of the situation, he would have gotten what he wanted from this hunting game.
