Chapter 1208: Chapter 826: Training Camp
The first light of dawn appeared.
East City of Ring Tower City.
A large area on the edge of the city.
This is a very important area.
Because this is the New Recruit Training Camp.
The first warm ray of sunlight infused with Magic Power had not yet completely squeezed through the narrow iron window when Adam quietly opened his eyes.
Those scarlet eyes flashed a trace of sharpness in the dim dormitory, then quickly returned to their usual calm.
His precise biological clock allowed him to naturally wake five minutes before the assembly whistle sounded outside.
Looking around, this was a standard four-man new recruit dormitory.
Narrow, simple, practical.
Four single beds with metal frames, four lockers embedded in the walls, a shared metal table, and several chairs, with no extra furnishings.
On the cold gray iron walls were posted the basic rules of the Night Watcher and a map of the New Recruit Training Camp.
The notice board beside was filled with information sheets they had placed there themselves.
Some standard manuals, some spell models, and some simply funny drawings.
The empty fourth bed silently waiting for the new partner assigned by the camp.
Adam silently sat up, smoothly beginning to tidy the room.
Folding the quilt, washing up.
He tapped on the array atop the ceramic basin, a slight flow of Magic Power infused in, causing cool clear water to start flowing.
Clear water splashed on his face, washing away the last trace of sleepiness.
His movements were meticulous, carrying the unique rhythm of a soldier.
This was a habit formed during training.
Outside, a whistle sounded, not piercing but inexplicably possessing penetration power.
"Ugh... damn whistle, can’t it be ten minutes later..."
A muffled complaint came from Tokke on one of the beds, as he poked his messy-haired head out, eyes still sleepy.
His treasured sailor hat was hanging on the hook by the bed.
Across the bed, Flying Squirrel abruptly flung off his old cloak—which he claimed was the "Abyss Companion" cape, as his scarlet eyes attempted to adopt an imperious stance, trying to dispel his drowsiness.
"Humph! The whispers of Chaos have already called, how can the newborn Blood Race indulge in mundane slumber! My will of Darkness has long been awakened... yawn..."
However, an uncontrollable yawn instantly broke his "dark" declaration.
Here he finally got used to sleeping in a bed, rather than in the coffin he crafted himself.
It’s not that he didn’t want to.
But under the invisible hand of the instructor, he behaved.
The instructor didn’t mind the Night Watchers showing their individuality, but it had to be reasonable and moderate.
Adam watched the two, the corner of his mouth barely curving upward: "If you’re awake, hurry up. Tokke, did you check your bowstring after yesterday’s practice? Flying Squirrel, the way the ’Abyss Lord’ yawns isn’t very dignified."
It seemed he was in a good mood today, even able to joke a bit.
Tokke mumbled as he hurriedly put on the gray-green new recruit uniform, "Checked, checked, I do take care of it the most! By the way, Adam, what’s the schedule for today? Is it that annoying demon dissection in the cultural class again?"
After half a year of training, they had all successfully taken up positions, with Tokke becoming a Ranger due to his keen eyesight and calm sniping talent.
His talent even surpassed the average Elf.
Moreover, he was a traveler of the forest—a Wood Elf.
Flying Squirrel finally sat up, trying hard to smooth his messy hair, trying to regain his aura.
"Foolish! That is knowledge that concerns the fate of our future battlefield! The types of demons, the habits of the Abyssal Lord, signs of Void pollution... isn’t every one of them closely related to the ultimate duel with the Power of Darkness?"
In other words, it was the habits and various information and weaknesses of the targets the Night Watchers would fight against later.
Adam nodded, quickly fastening the last button of his uniform and casually picking up the magic-sealed schedule card on the table.
"This morning is ’Theory of Chaos Power and Protection Practice’, focusing on the biological characteristics of Abyss Demons and their resistance to chaos pollution, taught by an experienced practical instructor.
"The afternoon is professional cooperative combat training, with group confrontations. Tokke, Flying Squirrel, we have no problem with Level Three basic training, but cooperation is key."
"A practical instructor?!"
Tokke’s eyes instantly lit up, sweeping away the early morning drowsiness.
"Great! Just looking at the pictures of those ugly creatures in books isn’t satisfying, really want to hear what the seniors on the frontlines have to say. Wonder if they’ll talk about the combat methods of those high-tier demons today?"
Even though they couldn’t face them now, learning about them for fun is no problem.
Flying Squirrel raised his chin: "Humph! The knowledge of the Abyss has long been in our hearts..." But his flickering eyes also revealed anticipation.
Adam knew, despite Flying Squirrel’s habit of talking nonsense, his knowledge of various obscure facts about Abyss Demons was surprisingly solid.
Sometimes he could even provide details not included in the textbooks, leading people to wonder if he had really "communed" in some odd place.
They were all Blood Race with the blood curse, and through blood, they also had different talents.
It’s just that talents varied greatly; some were even meaningless.
The three quickly finished tidying up, and when the sharp assembly whistle sounded outside, they had already pushed open the heavy iron dormitory door, merging into the flow heading towards the canteen and new recruit plaza.
The training camp covered vast grounds, with an open field of vision.
Training grounds partitioned by tall metal fences, simulated battlefields, shooting ranges, spell practice areas, and clusters of fortified buildings extended towards the edge of the city.
