Chapter 1204: Chapter 824: God’s Blessing
Deafening cheers surged forth like a flood of molten lava.
The cheers did not cease.
The cheers continued still.
"Leader!"
"Long live the Leader!"
Up and down the walls, the scarred but spirited Night Watchers expended their last ounce of strength to shout, looking toward the pure white figure descending from the sky, their eyes ablaze with near-fanatical reverence and trust.
This title was stained with their shared bloodshed and unconditional loyalty.
In a rational status, Kana was pleased to see this situation.
But emotionally, Kana felt a bit helpless about it. This was also why he began to intentionally disappear from most Night Watchers’ sight after his Ascension to Divinity.
Being distant can maintain mystery, making the believers more devout.
Yet this can also work the other way; mere respect, not faith, won’t generate the emotion of belief if mystery is maintained through excessive distancing.
And if Kana frequently appeared in front of these Night Watchers, given that he indeed was a God, this would lead many Night Watchers to believe in him.
They truly knew Kana was a God; Kana became a God.
God was with them, God was so humble, God was so peaceful, God was so gentle.
Plus, there’s that disparity on the soul level.
Faith is sure to be born.
Needless to say, like now, waging a divine battle before the Night Watchers.
Faith is even more irresistible.
It might even rapidly elevate due to Kana’s past deeds in the Night Watcher’s history, growing fervent and resolute.
"Venerable One! Thank you for your protection!"
"The will of the Abyss retreats in the face of your divine might!"
The Avenger—those warriors from shattered worlds, bearing blood vendettas, addressed Kana with a reverent tone reserved for a deity.
Their voices were tinged with a trembling excitement, and many subconsciously lowered their heads.
That was the reverence and gratitude arising naturally after witnessing true Divine Power dispel despair.
Kana also sensed some faith coming from these people.
Truly frightening.
Kana couldn’t help but mutter in his heart.
Perhaps because he became a god too quickly, or because after transcending, he continued to focus on resisting the Void Apocalypse.
In some ways, his mentality hadn’t changed much, making it difficult for him to quickly embrace this divine identity.
Of course, he wasn’t prepared to change this point either.
Kana’s figure landed lightly before the giant Teleportation Gate in the Central Square, still gently buzzing.
All eyes were on him; no one made noise, no one argued, no one whispered.
The data light wheel behind his head had already faded away, and the flowing Silver Light and crimson traces were tucked back under his divine robe, restoring his usual more human-like stance.
The previous merciless, datafied golden eyes were replaced by a gentle, approving gaze.
He surveyed the faces around him, stained with blood and fatigue yet gleaming with exuberant light, his voice calm yet piercing through the crowd:
"Your resilience has forged today’s cornerstone."
Kana’s gaze swept over the vigilant guardians, over the veterans resting against the wall yet still gripping their weapons, finally landing on those warriors who were drenched in blood, even missing limbs but whose eyes remained defiant.
Even if these people weren’t Night Watchers.
"The Blood Pit Fortress can stand firm in the Abyss’s fury, the Iron Flower can be safe under the deity’s gaze, all thanks to the courage and defiance flowing within the fortress."
As he spoke, his body slowly floated upwards, and his gaze scanned all the people.
The divine gaze fell on each person, allowing them to clearly feel it.
This was a kind of equal blessing.
"You," his voice rose, praising with undeniable awe, "used flesh as shields, wills as spears, and guarded the light of Order in this chaotic Purgatory. Your bravery deserves to be remembered and extolled!"
Amidst the excited faces of all.
Kana took action.
**Beginning of Blessing: Pain healed.**
With his words falling, Kana slowly raised his arms, not in the previous weapon-form posture but like opening a embrace, extending toward the Void.
Pure, warm, life-infused Order Divine Power spread gently from him like an invisible tide.
Specks of faint Silver Light Order stardust converged out of nowhere like spring rain, sprinkling across every corner of the fortress.
They ignored the heavy armor and filthy blood scabs, gently merging into the bodies of each Night Watcher and Avenger.
"Ugh..."
A Gray Beastman Avenger grimacing at the treatment of a corrosive wound on his belly by Medical Soldiers suddenly widened his eyes.
The deep, exposed wound, constantly oozing foul black liquid, visibly stopped deteriorating, and the energy at the corrupted edges was dispelled. Tender new flesh grew incredibly fast, closing the wound, the pain receded like a tide, leaving only a slight itch from healing.
He incredulously touched his belly, now healed with only a shallow scar left, letting out a low, satisfying exhalation.
"My wound... doesn’t hurt anymore?"
A Human Night Watcher with three broken ribs leaning against the wall joyfully discovered that the suffocating pain in his chest was gone.
That’s how Night Watchers are; exaggerated injuries don’t hinder action but do bring pain. And pain, in cases of weak will, can indeed affect action.
