Chapter 1132: Chapter 791: Giant Beast Ashore (Part 2)

"Get out, you scoundrel, there’s no customer for you here. If you squeeze in again, we might accidentally crush you into a meat pie, and that wouldn’t be good."

Laughter immediately erupted from the people nearby. There’s no need to show any courtesy to this scoundrel; he deserves to be mocked ruthlessly.

Coke spat disdainfully but didn’t mind. This time, he quietly moved closer, wanting to watch the commotion. (*Modified "persistent" -> "disdainful"*)

As long as he didn’t open his mouth to peddle his annoying goods, everyone tolerated him.

Soon the place became lively.

However, the two Beastmen had some restraint; they weren’t actually fighting with weapons, but wrestling shirtless.

The Night Watchers on patrol turned a blind eye to this, occasionally watching from the side.

The quiet corner near the High-Level cabins seemed like another world.

Because here, Magic was present, and the noise from outside was filtered out.

The tall Elf Mage Leah sat elegantly on a folding chair, a thick, yellowing tome spread open before her: "On the Geographical Distribution of Magic Nodes in the Ancient Kingdoms of Tariel."

It was obviously a human work.

For Elves, there were no Ancient Kingdoms.

Her compatriot, the elder Elf Scholar Elrond, stood nearby, gazing at the endless sea, his voice low and worried: "...History has been shrouded in mist for too long, Leah. These fragmented records can’t explain why the traces of civilization were completely erased. That ’silence’ itself is the greatest mystery."

He glanced at the ancient map intricately drawn on the pages of Leah’s book. "I hope what we find is not another abyss of despair."

The Elven footholds on the Tariel Continent had disappeared suddenly, and this time, they were taking advantage of the expedition’s momentum to investigate.

Leah’s azure eyes lifted, clear and determined: "That’s why we need to unveil the mist ourselves, Teacher Elrond. With our eyes, with our hands." 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

She noticed a silent descendant of the Stone Giants sitting in the shadow nearby, his enormous body both incongruous and full of strength.

The Giant noticed her gaze, nodded slightly, but his sights remained on the distant horizon.

More like a scholar than a Warrior in demeanor right now.

"Hey! Master Leah! Teacher Elrond!" a vibrant voice called, Human female Ranger Martha.

Fresh from training, beads of sweat at her temples, she ran over like the wind, "Are you studying those profound books again? Did you hear? Someone from the ’Flame’ said they saw a glow in the sea last night! Green and ghostly, like phantom jellyfish!"

One look at her appearance and you’d know Martha wasn’t purely human. Her ears are slightly pointed, skin fair, body well-proportioned.

Can’t really say she’s half-Elf, but she definitely has Elven blood.

Elves who became Adventurers, Elves who could gather here, weren’t arrogant snobs, so they weren’t snubbed and actually got along well. (*Modified "manager" -> "Elf"*)

Leah frowned: "Deep-sea luminescent creatures aren’t rare, Martha."

"I know! But everyone says it’s different here. Could it be some ancient Guardian Beast? Or a precursor to a sea monster?" Martha stuck out her tongue, looking gossipy and excited.

She appeared very young; her sparse Elven blood wouldn’t extend her lifespan much longer.

So her appearance showed she wasn’t very old.

The small shipboard circles were intermingling and communicating.

Occasionally Dwarves mocked humans for poorly seasoned jerky, and humans retorted Dwarf-baked biscuits were like whetstones.

Elves sometimes joined discussions on specific continent plant features, drawing Beastmen interjecting with, "As long as it’s edible."

Even that descendant of the Stone Giants was surrounded by curious young humans in one evening, quizzed for a long time about the ridiculous notion of "do Stone Giants really grow by eating stones"...

This slightly coarse but vibrant communication network, woven by shared journeys and common goals, was the force sustaining this two-month tedious voyage.

It would also be the foundation of mutual aid once they landed.

At least, it was what the Night Watchers hoped to see and intentionally guided.

Night Watchers hoped to see competition, not excessive conflict.

However, just as this daily familiarity and communication reached a certain subtle balance, and many began getting used to this lifestyle.

Woo—!!!!

A deep metallic horn unprecedentedly rang as if directly in their hearts, like the furious roar of a Giant Beast from the Abyss, erupting suddenly from the steel behemoth-like flagship’s depths.

It instantly tore apart all deck conversations, laughter, disputes, and thoughts like an icy torrent!

Time stood still for an instant.

Then, like thunder after a brewing storm, the lookout’s furious roar with piercing power tore through the brief silence from the fore ship’s high lookout tower:

"Land!!! We’re here! It’s Tariel!!! I see the coastline!!!"

Clearly, it wasn’t just him; lookouts on each ship cried out.

After a brief, suffocating silence, it erupted like a volcanic explosion!

"Tariel!!!"

"Heavens! We finally arrived!"

"We made it!"

A huge, deafening cheer burst forth, soaring to the sky, the deck instantly boiling over!
