Chapter 1660: Chapter 894: Martial Arts Tournament for a Bride (Part 2)

There are lookout towers on both sides of this tribe, each tower equipped with two soldiers and three archers. Judging by their outfits, they are not far behind those from the Court.

Lin Feng thought that there must be people from Central State among them; otherwise, there wouldn’t be individuals dressed in fine armor, which is a different outfit from the guards who wore animal skins at the previous campsite.

Not long after, Lin Feng was interrogated.

A guard approached to ask, and Lin Feng handed the token given by Cui’er to the guard, finally gaining entry.

Upon entering the campsite, he found that the environment was mostly dominated by large tents. Though there were buildings, they were considerably fewer.

Chen Susu is the daughter of the leader of this camp and the most beautiful girl within. Many young men in the tribe are enamored with her, but none dare to express it due to her exceptional status.

Lin Feng arrived at a large tent and dismounted.

Someone approached Lin Feng and asked, "This gentleman must be from Central State. May I ask why you have come to my lady’s tent?"

Lin Feng noticed that the approaching person was a girl in finely embroidered clothing, with a neat and elegant cloth hat. After confirming the identity of the person who approached, Lin Feng replied:

"I am here to see Su Liqian."

The girl immediately responded and smiled, saying to Lin Feng:

"Miss Su is inside talking to my lady. I will go in and notify her of your arrival."

Lin Feng said, "Then I must trouble the young lady to do so."

After the girl gracefully walked into the tent, Lin Feng breathed a sigh of relief. He felt this place was wonderful, with each young lady being both charming and graceful. If they were in the Human Realm, they could be considered exceptionally beautiful.

Before long, Su Liqian emerged.

"Mr. Lin."

Su Liqian hesitated, appearing conflicted.

Lin Feng wasted no time and directly said to Su Liqian:

"I already know about your situation. Don’t worry, I will think of a way to help you."

Su Liqian nodded and said to Lin Feng, "Cui’er, that girl, just can’t keep her mouth shut."

Although her words seemed to chide Cui’er, her face was calm and shy, appearing every bit a graceful lady.

As the atmosphere started to grow awkward, a girl around seventeen or eighteen years old, and equally lovely, emerged from the tent.

She had delicate features, a graceful nose, and bright eyes that conveyed a sense of serene delight. She was recognized as the most beautiful member of the Giant Wood Clan.

It wasn’t that Su Liqian wasn’t beautiful; she wasn’t a member of the tribe but grew up among them.

The reason is quite complicated and hard to detail here.

"So, this is the person you mentioned as your savior?"

Chen Susu looked at Lin Feng and spoke to Su Liqian beside her.

Su Liqian nodded to confirm.

"Since he is your benefactor, let him come into the tent to talk."

Lin Feng entered the large tent and realized that it wasn’t Chen Susu’s living quarters but a reception room. The tent was spacious and elegantly arranged, divided by curtains.

Lin Feng followed the two beautiful women into the tent’s reception area, where a maid stood at their side. Upon seeing Lin Feng enter, she quickly prepared a delicate tea cup and poured steaming tea into it.

"Please try our Giant Wood Clan’s specialty milk tea."

Chen Susu elegantly welcomed Lin Feng, who couldn’t afford to be idle and swiftly picked up the cup.

A rich, fragrant aroma accompanied by a fresh, elegant scent of Nature wafted through, making Lin Feng feel like he had arrived at a natural tea garden, where sheep roamed and frolicked leisurely under the harmonious sunlight.

"This is the first time I’ve tasted such good milk tea."

Lin Feng smiled slightly, gently placed the empty tea cup on the table, and lightly wiped his mouth with a cloth before tucking it away.

His gentlemanly demeanor effortlessly matched Su Liqian.

"I see the Giant Wood Clan lives a leisurely life, where relationships between people are harmonious with no hidden agendas. This is much more genuine than those from Central State."

Chen Susu saw Lin Feng initiate a conversation and, intrigued, continued the dialogue.

"People from Central State are focused on fame and fortune, naturally inclining towards suspicion. Our tribe has avoided worldly affairs for over a thousand years, so we tend to be more aloof than people from Central State."

Her words were refreshing and harmonious.

Lin Feng found Chen Susu’s insights remarkable, and respected her more. He thought that the Giant Wood Clan was indeed rich in talent, and it was a great honor for him to receive their help.

"Miss’s words have truly enlightened Lin Feng."

Lin Feng sincerely appreciated Chen Susu’s discourse, and was attracted to the peace that the Giant Wood Clan exuded. He even fancied that if the Human Realm had such an atmosphere, it would surely experience a new awakening.

They indulged in conversation, momentarily forgetting Su Liqian. Chen Susu turned to Su Liqian and playfully said:

"Su sister, meeting Mr. Lin is a great blessing."

Now slightly embarrassed, Su Liqian’s cheeks flushed slightly, and she quickly replied to Chen Susu:

"You really shouldn’t joke about such things."

Her words were hesitant, as if her heart was fluttering with uncertainty.

However, Chen Susu did not hold back and directly said:

"Now everyone in the tribe knows about your martial arts competition to seek marriage. I heard that anyone accepted by the Clan Leader can participate, regardless of whether they belong to the tribe."

Before Su Liqian could respond, Chen Susu turned to Lin Feng and said:

"Mr. Lin, have you ever had a marriage? If not, perhaps you could help Qian’er."

Chen Susu didn’t suggest Lin Feng participate in the martial arts competition but implied he should assist, revealing the subtleties in her words.

Lin Feng understood that Su Liqian did not want to marry through the competition, yet she had no choice but to obey the Clan Leader’s decision.

"I’m afraid the Clan Leader has his reasons for deciding this way. However, if Miss Su doesn’t want this marriage yet can’t refuse it, I may be of aid."

Su Liqian didn’t look up, still bashful. Meanwhile, Chen Susu smiled slightly at Lin Feng and said:

"Since Qian’er is so shy, let me decide for her. Mr. Lin, once you defeat all the contestants in the martial arts competition, and marry Qian’er, then the authenticity of the situation will be up to the two of you to decide."

Chen Susu’s words clearly suggested that Su Liqian had feelings for Lin Feng, implying that he should join the competition. If he was interested, they could genuinely marry; if he only wanted to help, they could feign marriage following the competition.

Lin Feng wasn’t aware that if he competed to the end, the only choice left would be to truly wed Su Liqian, impacting her reputation, something a gentleman struggles to comprehend.

Thus, Lin Feng straightforwardly agreed.

"As long as Miss Su agrees, I will assist fully."

Chen Susu smiled at Su Liqian as if she had facilitated a significant task for her, while Lin Feng remained perplexed.

Su Liqian was unsure of Chen Susu’s intention, merely contemplating her own predicament. She didn’t have a desired match in the tribe and, even if one appeared in the future, she preferred not to marry hastily. Su Liqian was genuinely troubled, but seeing Lin Feng offering help, she agreed, as the impression Lin Feng left was entirely favorable.
