Chapter 53: Chapter 53: You Forgot About the Tail!

The distance between them closed instantly.

At twenty percent speed, Nyra transformed into a blur of calculated, lethal kinetic energy.

She stepped inside his guard, leading not with a choreographed routine, but with a rapid, fight-ending combination.

Her rear leg snapped out in a vicious low roundhouse kick aimed to chop his lead thigh, immediately followed by a shifting, lunging lead palm strike targeted straight for his solar plexus.

Azriel’s Warrior’s Insight flared in the back of his mind like a supercomputer overclocking.

The neurological mapping translated her biomechanics into raw data, reading the trajectory before the strikes could land.

Check the kick. Slip the jab. Pivot.

Instead of blindly taking the blow, he dropped his weight slightly into his heels, shifting his lead shin outward to check the low kick with the dense bone of his upper tibia.

Simultaneously, he executed a flawless outside slip, tucking his chin tightly into his collarbone and moving his upper body just inches to the right.

The displacement of air from her palm strike grazed his cheek as it whistled past empty space.

"Good!" Nyra barked, her golden beast-eyes flashing with predatory thrill.

Using the momentum of her missed strike, she violently rotated her hips, spinning on the ball of her lead foot to convert her forward energy into a snapping spinning back-fist.

Azriel didn’t panic.

Using the knowledge drilled into his bones, he kept his elbows tucked, throwing his forearms up into a rigid high double-arm cover.

BOOM.

The heavy blow rattled his forearms, the impact vibrating through his skeletal structure.

Thanks to his newly tempered muscle mass, his guard didn’t break.

The sheer force drove his boots backward, cutting two deep, three-meter trenches into the loose dirt track, but his center of gravity remained flawlessly braced and upright.

Up on the observation deck, Rosalind’s fingers dug slightly into the stone railing.

Her white feline ears twitched forward, completely captivated.

He wasn’t just surviving a drill anymore, he was deflecting a seasoned captain’s assault with real mechanical structure.

The live chat interface erupted into a blinding blur of text as the floating camera sphere zipped through the air, capturing the exchange from a cinematic, ground-level perspective.

[Battle_Maiden_Vera] (White): Look at the hip rotation on that check! And he kept his eyes on the target even during the slip! That’s text-book defensive boxing!

[Iron_Blood_Asura]: The growth-type ability is feeding on the pressure. He didn’t blink when that back-fist hit his guard. He absorbed the kinetic energy, re-centered his balance, and held the line.

[Nine_Tailed_Vixen] (Cyan): Oh, the way those thick legs dug into the dirt to absorb the slide... His ass is so round and sexy.

[Crimson_Fury] (White): Another Simp

[Pure_Jade_Fairy] (White): Wait, look at his lead foot. He’s resetting his stance to load a counter!

Azriel didn’t wait for Nyra to reset her posture.

A surge of reckless, Earth-born adrenaline flooded his veins.

He had spent enough time letting her set the tempo.

He lunged forward, his rear foot exploding off the dirt to launch a rapid lead jab straight at her guard.

It was a classic setups.

As expected, Nyra leaned back slightly to evade, preparing to counter his overextended arm.

But right as Azriel threw his weight forward into a heavy straight thrust, he deliberately cut the kinetic chain short.

He didn’t throw the cross.

It was a feint.

Using his footwork, he planted his lead foot firmly and pivoted a full ninety degrees to the left, stepping directly into her blind spot on the outside of her lead shoulder.

With his hips now perfectly loaded, he unleashed a thunderous, shifting rear hook aimed directly at her exposed floating ribs.

Nyra’s eyes widened slightly.

A rhythm break!

With the split-second reflexes of a veteran, she managed to drop her rear elbow down to her flank just as the blow landed.

The collision of his fist against her elbow resonated across the open field like a cracking whip.

"Impressive tactical deviation," Nyra muttered, her breath hot against his shoulder as their upper bodies collided, locking their arms in a brief, brutal struggle for inside leverage. =

"But you forgot one thing."

Before Azriel could disengage and step back out of the pocket, Nyra’s tail whipped forward along the ground like a coiled serpent.

It wrapped tightly around his rear ankle and gave it a sharp, violent jerk backward.

His base of support was instantly severed.

Azriel went down hard on his back, the breath rushing out of his lungs in a sharp gasp as a cloud of dust billowed around his shoulders.

Before he could even roll over to execute a stand-up, the heavy sole of Nyra’s leather boot was resting gently, yet decisively, right over his throat.

The spar was over.

Azriel lay there in the dirt, his chest heaving, sweat dripping down his defined abs as he stared up at the clear sky.

A slow, totally unbothered, and entirely rogue smile gradually spread across his face.

[Ding! Warrior’s Insight proficiency has increased significantly! Evolving parameters active...]

"You forgot about the tail, Sir Azriel," Nyra said, pulling her boot back and offering him a firm hand.

The cold, dismissive condescension was entirely gone from her voice, she was looking at him as a true martial artist in the making.

"In a world of beastmen, every appendage is a lethal weapon."

Azriel grabbed her hand, letting her haul him effortlessly to his feet as he shook the dirt from his pitch-black hair.

He looked directly at the invisible camera sphere, giving his higher-realm viewers a knowing, confident wink that completely melted the chat.

"Fair enough, Captain," Azriel chuckled, wiping a bead of sweat from his chin as his eyes flicked toward a glowing red status notification on his screen. "But trust me... next time, I’ll be the one holding the tail."

"The fight was good, especially for your first time, Azriel," a voice purred.

A ripple of crimson Aether tore through the air, and Rosalind materialized right beside him.

Azriel turned to her, a lazy smile spreading across his face, and immediately wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her into a tight, grounding hug. "Thank you, Rose."

Feeling the damp warmth of his skin against hers, Rosalind stiffened slightly, though she didn’t push him away.

"Hey, let go of me, you’re absolutely drenched in sweat," she chided, trying to maintain her dignified, regal composure.

Azriel didn’t budge an inch. Instead, he tightened his grip around her waist, leaning down to murmur teasingly right by her ear, "Oh? What happened to you? You hold onto me tightly enough on the bed like I’m going to disappear whenever you’re riding me, even when I’m completely drenched in your—"
