Chapter 19: Chapter 19: I Should Have Streamed This

Rosalind pressed a tender kiss to the side of his neck, right over the dark slave tattoo.

Then, taking a soft silk cloth dipped in the warm, herb-scented water, she began to gently and meticulously wash his shoulders, her movements incredibly tender as she took care of her new partner.

The warm cloth slid smoothly over Azriel’s shoulders, the fragrant, herb-infused water dripping down his chest.

Rosalind worked in silence, her touch incredibly gentle as she rubbed away the lingering exhaustion of their chaotic night.

Her focus was entirely on him, her golden eyes fixed on his broad back with a loving smile that felt entirely distinct from the feral dominance she had displayed hours prior.

Azriel closed his eyes, momentarily letting the system screen fade into the background.

The feeling of a woman who could crush steel with her bare hands carefully tending to him with such a delicate touch was an intoxicating contrast.

"Your back," Rosalind murmured softly, her breath tickling his ear. Her fingers gently traced the shallow, faded red marks left by her own sharp nails from the heat of their passion last night. "I... I lost control. I am sorry for marking you like this."

Azriel chuckled softly, a low rumble vibrating in his chest. He turned around in the warm water to face her directly. Her white hair floated lazily around her shoulders in the steaming pool, and her cheeks were slightly flushed from the heat.

"Don’t worry about it, Rose," he said, taking the soft silk cloth directly from her hands.

He knew this was the exact moment to deepen the feelings she had for him, so he brought out the best possible expression for the situation.

He looked at her with an intense mixture of love and gratitude in his eyes.

His long, wet hair fell over his broad shoulders, and his violet gaze was locked entirely onto her.

Seeing him look at her as if she were his whole world, Rosalind felt something she never had before.

She was feeling genuinely loved for the very first time in her life, and she didn’t know how to respond to it.

Breaking her usual habits, she looked away to the side, entirely unsure of why she was avoiding his gaze instead of confronting it like she always did.

Azriel gave a sweet, small smile.

He moved his hand, his fingers gently touching her jaw to bring her gaze back to him.

As she turned, a few strands of white hair fell over her face, and Azriel softly tugged them behind her ear.

Her golden eyes stared at him unblinkingly as he did it, and he stared right back into those golden globes, his smile widening as his hand caressed her cheek.

"You know, I was actually terrified when my clan fell apart and got massacred," he said softly, his voice dipping into a vulnerable tone.

"As the only remaining clansman, when I was bought as a slave by Duchess Katarina, I was scared of what would happen to my life. And then... then I was gifted to you."

He looked at her and chuckled quietly.

"I was even more scared then than when I was first sold as a slave. You know, I was terrified because I knew you executed every man you didn’t find worthy."

She smiled softly as he continued to caress her cheek, a small laugh escaping her lips.

"So that was why your very first sentence to me was ’am I worthy?’"

Azriel chuckled. "Yes. I was absolutely terrified. I was terrified of whether my awakening would interest you enough to make me worthy of living."

"It did," she murmured.

"And I am happy about it," Azriel replied, looking deeply into her eyes.

"You know, Rose... you may have kept me alive initially because I am super talented. But you are the woman who took my virginity, and I am the man who took yours. In this world, nothing is more sacred to a man than his virginity."

He leaned in until their foreheads touched, both of them looking straight into each other’s eyes, their lips parted just a hair’s breadth apart.

"So, whatever your reason might be to keep me alive, I, Azriel Amaros, the last man of the Nocthari race, will be by your side until my death. Either as your slave, or..."

Rosalind looked at him, her golden eyes wide and filled with shock. "Or?"

He smiled, placing his other hand on her face so he was holding her head gently with both hands, looking down at her with immense, undeniable affection.

"Or as a lover," he whispered.

’Damn... I should have done this on stream,’ he thought bitterly, a brief flash of regret crossing his mind.

’The goddesses would have absolutely eaten this shit up. The Karma Points would have been rolling in.’

Before she could speak, he leaned in and kissed her with deep passion.

Rosalind responded instantly with the exact same fervor, her eyes closing as she got completely lost in the embrace.

Her heart thumped relentlessly against her ribs as she surrendered to the feeling she now knew, without a doubt, was love.

They kept kissing until they finally pulled apart, breathing heavily as they locked eyes with absolute affection.

But then, the softness in Rosalind’s golden eyes sharpened.

Gripping a handful of his long, wet hair, she firmly pulled him back down to her level, her dominant nature flaring back to life.

"I think you forgot what I told you when I first kissed you in the throne room," she murmured, her voice laced with a possessive authority.

"You are going to be my partner. Not my slave."

Without waiting for an answer, she leaned in and bit down hard on his neck, right over the dark ink of his slave mark, claiming him as her own.

Azriel winced at the sharp sting, but a smirk tugged at his lips.

He looked down at her voluptuous body pressed flush against his chest.

Even though his body were completely spent after the intense night they had shared, his hunger hadn’t been fully satisfied.

Reaching into the water, he grabbed the silk washing cloth floating on the pool’s surface.

While she kept her teeth sunk into his neck, he began to gently slide the warm, wet cloth down her back.

Feeling the soothing friction over her skin, Rosalind slowly relaxed, softening her bite and letting him wash her as she held him close.
