Chapter 39: Chapter 39: Perfecting The Technique

Shen Yuan returned to his home in the same servant robes he had left in.

Besides information, he had purchased some other things as well.

Taking out a bundle of wrapped herbs he buried them under the stone along with the older herbs he had hid there. The moment he was trying to pry open the stone slab, his eyes were darting around the room.

"This should help me with the money problem in the short run." These herbs lacked the power and quality to help Shen Yuan anymore.

But even then he continued to horde them, spending the last of his Girds on them.

"They should last me for a month or two now." Shen Yuan knew that from the next month, the market would be in dire need of all sorts of mortal medicines and enhancement potions.

Next month would mark the end of a year since their batch had ’joined’ the Blood Demon Sect.

Every year, the same thing happens.

The original Shen Yuan had watched his seniors’ head explode into bloody mist and now it will be their turn.

"With the urgency of the new batch, I can make some money." Shen Yuan thought as he moved to his desk.

"Right now, I have to focus on getting stronger." Shen Yuan carefully took his seat on the chair as if it was any other day in his life. But in his head, several thoughts were running on alarming speed. ’Someone has been here!’

Even as he sat down, his eyes were darting around to every corner in the room.

Shen Yuan did not see any obvious shifts in there but with his perfect memory, he could tell.

His bed was cms off the original position.

His table and been moved too.

Someone had sat in HIS chair.

But thankfully no one had touched his Axe.

’From the looks of it, they did not find my secret stash. Good thing I burned the books after I finished reading them.’ Shen Yuan let out a sigh of relief inwardly but did not relax at all. ’There were probably more than one person. About the same height as me... Hmm? I have to reinstall the tiles. The uneven shift in their depths is killing my OCD self.’

He already had a guess who was behind this home invasion and also about the time it had happened.

’No wonder I felt so many gazes the moment I stepped out. While he was chatting me up, his people were overthrowing my house to look for something.’

The foxy face of Shi Jin flashed through his eyes making Shen Yuan’s finger twitch. Just like they did right before he killed someone with his metal wire.

"It’s about time I got rid of them." Shen Yuan knew they will only get in his way in the future so now was the perfect time to deal with them while they were an easy target.

"But for now, I will not get up until I finish comprehending that cultivation technique to the peak."

With his newfound resolution, Shen Yuan moved closed his eyes and clasped his hands under his chin, leaning on the table.

The True Scripture Of The Bloody Moon.

Although it was a Peak Rank Profound Grade technique.

It was incomplete.

Shen Yuan only had the first stage, the body tempering realm part available to him.

And Fortunately for him, it did not require him to have a dantian to comprehend the technique.

What it needed was a profound understanding of the human body and an even deeper knowledge of each level of the realm.

Every level was pushing the body through rigorous training while circulating qi through specific acupoints.

One cannot directly infuse qi into any part of the body as qi from the nature is volatile in nature. It could harm the body instead of tempering it.

So pushing Qi through specific acupoints, Shen Yuan moved it through the Extraordinary Meridians.

There were ten extraordinary meridians in a human being’s body.

Each one was connected to various parts of the body.

Infusing qi allowed him to unlock those meridians and temper the organs related to it.

As of this moment, Shen Yuan had unlocked 7 Extraordinary Meridians.

And now, he was moving on to the eighth one.

Time slowly started to slip away. With each rise of the twin moons and their setting, the hearts of many started to become restless.

The promised day was getting closer with each breath they took.

But many had nothing to show for it.

Despair started to cloud their judgement, making some run away from the district, into the endless forest, where only a cruel fate awaited them.

No one tried to stop them, no one had to.

The dangerous beasts dwelling in the forests had done their job for the supervisors.

But among the anxious ones, there were a few who had nothing to fear about.

Dressed in his luxurious robes, Peng Ho was sitting cross-legged on the edge of a dangerous cliff behind the boundary of his hut. His eyes were closed and his breathing was rhythmic.

His brown hair flailed around as a gust of wind flew from behind.

"Shi Jin, you should try to cultivate as well. Even though you have already reached the Qi Condensation stage, it does not mean you cannot improve more." Peng Ho slowly opened his beady jade eyes before looking over his shoulder.

And as he had expected the sly faced young man was leaning against the back wall of his place and let out a dry chuckle. "If you call me all the time, how can I cultivate when I want to."

Peng Ho simply snorted and stood up from the ground. He was simply being polite but he never expected Shi Jin to talk back to him.

But he knew that was the nature of the man.

Even though he spoke out of turn, the man was loyal to him and followed his every instructions.

"How is the work going? Did you obtain the herbs like I asked you?" Peng Ho directly went to the main point.

"Not good. There has been a problem."
