Chapter 2622: Chapter 2622: Not Interested in You (3)
Royal Study Room.
Emperor Xuanjing sat behind the imperial desk, with all his sons except Qi Jingyi seated beneath him.
"When did the eighth son start liking men?" Emperor Xuanjing frowned at his sons, "And none of you know anything about it?"
The Crown Prince coughed slightly: "Father, the eighth son just didn’t like engaging with women much before. We thought he was simply valuing purity, but didn’t expect..." Xinxin on the other hand, really has no idea how to handle this.
Qi Jingyun, who had his head lowered, slightly curved his lips, thinking to himself that the eighth son is going all out to avoid marrying Wanyan Ningshuang.
"Father, I’ve never heard before that eighth brother likes men." Qi Jingrong followed up, frowning, "Thinking back now, I’m worried about going south with him." Men who like men are not normal; what if he has inappropriate thoughts towards me?
Qi Jingyun just chuckled: "Don’t worry, tenth brother, even if the eighth son truly likes men, he would only like Gu Qingheng and me. You’re not in the running."
Gu Qingheng, busy with his duties somewhere, suddenly shivered. The weather sure is cold.
"Third brother, what do you mean?" Qi Jingrong frowned, feeling aggrieved.
"It means the eighth son doesn’t fancy you." The Crown Prince added fuel to the fire, "So, you may rest assured."
Qi Jingrong had a hurt expression on his face.
Qi Jingxuan was unable to suppress a laugh.
Qi Jingrong glared at Qi Jingxuan: "Sixth brother, don’t laugh. If he doesn’t fancy me, he certainly doesn’t fancy you."
"That’s perfect." Qi Jingxuan felt very cheerful; though he wasn’t as handsome as his other brothers, it meant he was safe.
"Enough, what nonsense are you all spouting?" Emperor Xuanjing shot an angry glare at his sons, then pinched the bridge of his nose, "I summoned you to come up with a solution, not to babble nonsense." He didn’t care if his son could marry the princess or not, but if the Imperial Family of Daxuan truly had a Prince who liked men, he couldn’t afford to lose face.
Suddenly, no one spoke.
"Father." Han Wang Qi Jinghao, who had been silent, spoke, "Wouldn’t it be better to summon the eighth son and ask him directly? I have a feeling there might be more to this story."
Qi Jingyun looked at Qi Jinghao: "Fifth brother, are you feeling unwell? Why do you look so pale?"
Qi Jinghao met Qi Jingyun’s gaze but quickly smiled: "Yes, I got caught in the rain on my way here and haven’t fully recovered." He coughed twice as he spoke.
"It’s better to have the Imperial Physician check you, or perhaps you could visit Madam Gu." Qi Jingyun nodded slightly, "Illness shouldn’t be neglected; if it worsens, it could become troublesome."
"Thank you for your concern, third brother, I will." Qi Jinghao nodded.
"Someone." Emperor Xuanjing exhaled deeply, "Go and summon the eighth son to me."
An hour later, Qi Jingyi hurriedly rushed in.
"Kneel." Emperor Xuanjing commanded sternly before Qi Jingyi could speak.
Qi Jingyi quickly knelt with a thud.
"Tell me, when did you start liking men?" Emperor Xuanjing stared at his handsome son, feeling a pressure in his chest that wouldn’t rise or fall.
"Father, I don’t like men at all." Qi Jingyi raised his head with a confused expression.
"Don’t like men? Then you said before you don’t like women?"
"I don’t like women, but that doesn’t mean I like men." Qi Jingyi looked aggrieved.
"What do you mean, then?" Emperor Xuanjing felt baffled himself.
