Chapter 66: Chapter 66: There Are Mountains Beyond Mountains _1
"You think that’s all the power my Chen Family has?"
Ye Ming replied with a cold smile, "I don’t have any backing, nor do I need one."
"To deal with a small Chen Family like yours, I won’t need anyone else’s help."
"Audacious! A young man who doesn’t know whether he’s alive or dead," Chen Bin cursed.
Ye Ming, not wanting to waste words with him, simply pointed at Chen Bin and infused a stream of True Qi into his body.
Then he said, "You’re entirely welcome to try every method to deal with me; however, let’s make a bet. Within three days, you’ll surely come begging me to let you off."
"Beg you? Ye Ming, don’t be too arrogant! I will never beg you, and I’ll make sure you pay a painful price. We’ll just wait and see." After speaking, Chen Bin hurriedly left.
Ye Ming ignored him and returned to the villa with Lin Bingqing, fetching some gauze to treat Lin Bingqing’s wound.
Lin Bingqing’s wound had gradually started to heal after taking the Herbal Pill; there was no major problem.
However, she was somewhat puzzled and asked, "Master, why didn’t you attack him? If you had taken care of him, the Chen Family would no longer be a problem."
"You weren’t scared by his words, were you?"
Ye Ming explained, "What he said isn’t entirely without reason; we should consider it in our actions."
"With my current strength, it’s not difficult to take care of the Chen Family, but if I really did that, it would only bring more troubles."
Lin Bingqing still didn’t quite understand Ye Ming’s explanation.
"If you’ve taken care of the Chen Family, who else would dare provoke you?" Lin Bingqing continued to inquire.
Being naive due to her personal background, she didn’t understand the complexities involved, which led to her innocent question.
Ye Ming patiently explained to her, "Just like an unbeatable expert who is suddenly killed by an unknown youngster, what do you think would happen to that youngster?"
With that explanation, Lin Bingqing seemed to have grasped something.
Ye Ming’s idea was simple: if he was to resolve the issue with the Chen Family, then he had to make them completely convinced, not daring to provoke him again.
If he was too extreme, he would undoubtedly attract the attention of other clans.
After all, taking on the entire Chen Family single-handedly and emerging unscathed would definitely stir up huge waves and attract countless watchful eyes.
He had not yet grown powerful enough to disdain the world, so he couldn’t act too ostentatiously; otherwise, it would only bring deadly trouble upon himself.
There are always higher skies beyond one’s own, the saying goes.
Ye Ming believed that there must be higher-level experts hiding in Hai City that he had yet to discover.
Therefore, he needed to avoid the limelight for now and wait until he became stronger. Then, naturally, he would step forward.
Despite this, Lin Bingqing couldn’t help feeling a bit resentful and said, "But Chen Bin is way too arrogant. It seems a pity not to teach him a lesson."
Ye Ming laughed and replied, "I’ve already given him the punishment he deserves. If he doesn’t want to die, it will take only a few days before he comes to beg me."
Ye Ming had not dealt Chen Bin a deadly blow, but that did not mean he intended to let him off easily. Before leaving, Ye Ming had infused a stream of True Qi into Chen Bin’s body.
The True Qi he was referring to was the fierce Evil Qi he had absorbed earlier at the Qin Family residence. He had been holding on to it, believing that one day it would prove useful, but he hadn’t expected that day to come so soon.
That Evil Qi would torment Chen Bin to no end, leaving him to suffer miserably, unable to live or die.
He believed that Chen Bin would not last long.
However, no sooner had Chen Bin left that Xu Lele hurried back.
As soon as she entered, Xu Lele grabbed Ye Ming’s arm and looked him up and down, bombarding him with questions, "Are you alright, are you injured?"
Xu Lele could never have imagined that the Chen Family would be so eager to make a move against Ye Ming. She had just wanted to warn Ye Ming, but right after she had left, she received news that the Chen Family had already gone looking for Ye Ming.
She returned with her heart in her throat, but upon seeing Ye Ming unharmed before her, Xu Lele was finally able to relax.
"Don’t worry, he’s not capable of hurting me," Ye Ming said calmly, "Thank you for your concern."
Xu Lele, ever so casual, waved her hand and said, "It’s nothing, as long as you’re fine."
After a moment’s thought, she asked again, "But what exactly did you do to make them leave you alone?"
By now, Xu Lele had also considered that Chen Bin was not someone to be taken lightly. If he had personally come to trouble Ye Ming, he wouldn’t have left empty-handed.
Lin Bingqing narrated the entire sequence of events, shocking Xu Lele immensely.
Struggling to hold back, she said, "In the future, try not to let this sort of thing happen again. Even if you’re highly skilled, accidents can happen at any time. What would you do if you got hurt?"
"If they come looking for trouble again, call me in advance. Don’t do dangerous things like this anymore!"
Xu Lele knew that Ye Ming wouldn’t accept her help easily; therefore, her words were directed at Lin Bingqing.
Lin Bingqing hesitated, then nodded and said, "Shifu’s wife, I’ll remember!"
The title "Shifu’s wife" made Xu Lele blush with embarrassment but also made her incredibly happy inside.
Then, Lin Bingqing conscientiously cleared a space and said, "Shifu’s wife, why don’t you stay for dinner tonight? How about eating with us?"
Without waiting for Xu Lele’s consent, Lin Bingqing had already donned an apron and entered the kitchen, overestimating her culinary skills, which were virtually non-existent.
In the end, it was Ye Ming who took over the apron and volunteered to cook. Listening to the two girls chatting animatedly in the living room, Ye Ming felt a profound sense of warmth.
Meanwhile, Chen Bin, furious after being slapped, stormed out of Ye Ming’s villa, planning to find more formidable fighters.
But as he was driving on the road, a sudden and excruciating pain struck him, causing him to convulse and nearly lose control of his car.
Chen Bin was bewildered; he had always been healthy and couldn’t understand why he was experiencing such pain so suddenly.
Initially believing it to be a minor issue, Chen Bin didn’t take it seriously, but the pain became more and more acute, unbearable as if countless ants were tearing at his heart, giving him a longing for death.
Thus, Chen Bin hurriedly drove to the hospital. Following a series of tests, the conclusion was that there was nothing wrong with him.
"How can this be? I’m in so much pain," Chen Bin mused over his medical report.
Song Tianming stood by his side, patiently explaining, "Mister Chen, it’s very likely that you have been overworking yourself recently. Your body has reacted, and you need to rest."
