Chapter 324: Chapter 324: A Chance for Self-Redemption_1
Witnessing Ye Ming’s earth-shatteringly formidable strength, a simple sentence from him sent everyone into a panic.
The three Mingxuan Pavilion disciples holding Lin Mengdie instantly slowed their steps, their legs turning to jelly with fear.
Seeing this, Liang Tianhe cursed them as useless and snatched Lin Mengdie from their hands, sprinting ahead with her.
Lin Mengdie was his life-preserving bargaining chip, and he absolutely could not afford to lose her.
"Stop him for me!" Liang Tianhe bellowed at a few of his confidants.
However, these confidants did not wish to throw their lives away for him and go against Ye Ming, the Killer God. After dropping Lin Mengdie, they immediately fled, not looking back as they ran.
Liang Tianhe was beyond furious and, seeing Ye Ming’s figure drawing ever closer, he didn’t bother to run anymore.
He placed his hand on Lin Mengdie’s neck and yelled, "Ye Ming, since you’re pressing me so hard, let’s both go down together!"
After shouting, he immediately started to squeeze hard, intending to snap Lin Mengdie’s neck.
At that moment, a golden light once again rose, neutralizing his strength, and Lin Mengdie slipped from his grasp.
"What?"
Liang Tianhe watched the scene before him in disbelief, suddenly realizing what was happening.
He had been wondering why Zhang Changyang and the others were able to kidnap Lin Mengdie but still let her escape unharmed. It turned out that Ye Ming had been employing some tactic.
"Despicable, Ye Ming, how utterly despicable!" Liang Tianhe, fuming with rage, lashed out at Ye Ming.
Ye Ming’s figure had already arrived in front of him, his icy words echoing in his ear, "You are not even worthy of using the word ’despicable’."
Bang!
Ye Ming stretched out his hand and struck Liang Tianhe’s chest, sending him flying backward to crash against a huge boulder by the roadside, spitting out mouthfuls of blood.
Now freed from her bonds, Lin Mengdie quickly got up from the ground, her eyes moist as she looked at Ye Ming, "I knew you would come."
At that moment, she wished she could throw herself into Ye Ming’s arms.
Having gone through two life-and-death situations together, Lin Mengdie no longer saw Ye Ming as an ordinary person.
"As long as you’re safe, that’s all that matters. With me here, nothing will happen to you," Ye Ming said.
He stopped in his tracks and walked unhurriedly towards Liang Tianhe.
Liang Tianhe was now lying pathetically on the ground, his face the picture of defeat, devoid of any ability to resist.
With just a simple palm strike, Ye Ming had shattered his chest cavity; his internal organs had shifted, eliciting an intense pain that made him wish for death.
But he still tried to prop himself up, pleading with Ye Ming, "Don’t kill me, I beg you."
"I am Lin Mengdie’s master. You and Lin Mengdie are betrothed, which makes me an elder to you in a way, so you can’t kill me! As long as you let me live, I’ll forget all past grievances. I will never bring them up again!"
Liang Tianhe was sniveling and sobbing, almost ready to kowtow to Ye Ming.
Looking at his pitiable state, Ye Ming felt not the slightest sympathy.
"That move of yours to kill with a borrowed knife was very clever, and disgusting. You think after targeting me like that I would spare your life?"
Liang Tianhe raised his head, gazing pitifully at Ye Ming, and said, "But... but you’re still alive, aren’t you? People make mistakes. Just forgive me this once, and for the rest of my life, I promise I won’t ever appear before you again!"
"After I return, I’ll leave the Mingxuan Pavilion, I’ll let you have my place..."
Seeing Liang Tianhe’s sincere admission of guilt, Lin Mengdie began to feel uneasy.
She knew her martial uncle’s character and approach to life all too well. Forgiving him would lead to endless trouble in the future—he would never repent, but would instead use various means to deal with Ye Ming and herself.
Yet, as Liang Tianhe’s junior, she couldn’t directly suggest that Ye Ming should kill him.
"Ye Ming..." Lin Mengdie called out, but she didn’t know what to say.
Ye Ming gave her a reassuring look, pulled a dagger from his sleeve, and threw it in front of Liang Tianhe.
Then, he squatted in front of Liang Tianhe and said, "I’m giving you a choice, either take your own life, or, I will do it for you!"
"Either way, your only path today is death, survival is not a possibility."
Ye Ming was no fool. After witnessing Liang Tianhe’s behavior that day, he had a deep understanding of how treacherous and ruthless the man was—a despicable character through and through. Allowing him a way out would be harming himself.
However, he wanted to give Liang Tianhe a chance at self-redemption, to take his own life.
"Don’t worry, this dagger is very sharp. You just need to aim for the heart, one stab and you can die instantly without feeling any pain," Ye Ming slowly said. "If you’re still worried about your worthless son and no one taking care of him, I can take over and send him on his way with you!"
"Do it!"
Liang Tianhe looked dejected, his complexion sagged and his eyes looked at the dagger before him, lifeless.
"Victory begets the king, defeat the outlaw; I have nothing to say."
"Ye Ming, you are indeed very powerful, far beyond my expectations. To encounter an opponent like you, I admit defeat completely!"
"None of the four major sects are your match, and even the people from Wanhua Valley were taken care of by you. Even when many tried to deal with you together, you still walked away unscathed. Any of the martial sects would be fortunate to have you."
"I only ask that you spare my son’s life. You’ve already crippled him; let him struggle on for a little longer! He poses no threat to you anymore."
Ye Ming nodded without hesitation, "Alright, I’ll listen to you. You still think of your son, I won’t touch him."
"But you’d better make your move quickly."
Ye Ming looked up; the sun was nearly setting.
The chase of Liang Tianhe and the others had taken him to a remote wilderness. Once night fell completely, travel would become even more difficult.
"Make my move... alright, I’ll do it myself." Liang Tianhe picked up the dagger slowly, his gaze becoming ever more erratic.
The next second, seizing the moment Ye Ming looked up at the sky, Liang Tianhe stabbed the dagger at Ye Ming.
"Just with you trying to send me to my death? You bastard, it’s your turn!"
Liang Tianhe revealed a cunning smile.
The dagger in his hand had already pierced Ye Ming’s body, right at his neck—a fatal blow.
"Young man, you’ve been too arrogant, daring to place a knife before me, heh!" Liang Tianhe said sinisterly. "Regretting it now, aren’t you? Unfortunately, it’s all too late."
Seeing what happened, Lin Mengdie turned deathly pale and cried out in a panic, "Ye Ming!"
Her worst fear had come true, and she rushed forward to support Ye Ming.
However, at that moment, Ye Ming showed a calm expression and said, "I think it’s not as bad as it seems."
