Chapter 132: Chapter 132: Interlocking _1
Intense pain contorted the paparazzo’s face, his body convulsing on the ground.
Yet despite this, he maintained his defiance, gritting his teeth and saying, "You must be joking, why would I ever tell you? You have the guts to kill me in front of all these people, then do it!"
"Besides, the stuff I just snapped has already been sent out. Even if you kill me now, it’s pointless."
The paparazzo laughed wildly, his expression utterly ferocious.
Knowing he was about to receive a hefty bounty, he wasn’t the least bit concerned about the situation at hand.
Ye Ming had a certain respect for this kind of person, who would rather die than give up the money. Thus, he gave him another chance to remain tough, stepping on his knee once more.
There was another nauseating crack, and the severe pain nearly knocked the paparazzo out.
But Ye Ming was quick not to let him faint, swiftly pressing a pressure point to keep him acutely aware, then asked, "Who sent you to spy on me?"
Upon witnessing the brutal act, the woman who coordinated with the paparazzo had already slipped away, decisively betraying her partner.
The paparazzo himself was engulfed in fear. He couldn’t believe that just for taking a couple of photos, Ye Ming would be so vicious. If this continued, he truly might die.
Immediately caving, he confessed, "It was Young Master Li who sent me!"
Ye Ming had already guessed this. Back when they were at Xu Lele’s place for her birthday party, he had sensed Li Kai’s cunning and had been on guard. But, to his dismay, all the caution in the world hadn’t been enough.
Ye Ming said indifferently, "The Young Master Li you’re talking about is Li Kai, right? Call him now, I want to have a word with him."
The severely injured paparazzo had lost the courage to resist and obediently took out his phone to call Li Kai.
After the call connected, Li Kai’s impatient voice came through: "I’ve received the photos and will arrange for your payment shortly."
Ye Ming took the phone and said, "Li Kai, is it? You think with these little tricks you can create division? You’re too naive."
Li Kai fell silent for a moment, evidently not expecting Ye Ming to have found out.
Then he spoke arrogantly, "Ye Ming, it’s too late for you to say anything now. The photos have already been sent to Le Le. As for how to explain it and make Le Le believe, I’ll see to it."
"Oh, is that so? You greatly underestimate my relationship with Le Le," Ye Ming said confidently. "Merely a few pictures cropped out of context won’t affect me at all. Besides, I suggest you back off soon. Offending me won’t end well for you. You’re aware of the Chen Family’s fate, aren’t you? You don’t want to end up like them, do you?"
Li Kai let out a cold laugh and said, "Comparing me to the insignificant Chen Family, Ye Ming, are you naive? Do you think I’m that foolish?"
"Le Le has received the photos and is waiting for my explanation. As for you, I don’t think you’ll have the time to chat with Le Le because you’ll definitely have family matters to attend to. After all, since the matchmaking attempt failed, you’ll have to explain it to your mother, won’t you? Otherwise, she’ll be very upset."
Li Kai emphasized the words "family matters" heavily, as if to insinuate something to Ye Ming.
Ye Ming couldn’t help but recall his mother’s uncharacteristically drastic changes. He had gone on this blind date at the behest of Jiang Rou, only to encounter trouble. Doesn’t that imply Jiang Rou was also part of this scheme?
Suddenly, Ye Ming imagined a truly horrifying consequence, and rage engulfed him. He bellowed, "Li Kai, you’d better not do anything out of line, otherwise, I swear you’ll deeply regret it!"
"We’ve made our bed, and now we must lie in it," Ye Ming finished, then hung up the phone and sprinted towards his house.
His rage had become uncontrollable, seething within him, enveloping his entire being.
He had sworn time and time again that he would never let his loved ones get hurt again, yet he had miscalculated one move.
Ye Ming had decided that if anything happened to his mother, he wouldn’t mind going on a killing spree and making Li Kai pay dearly.
Upon arriving at home, Ye Ming felt a surge of anxiety as he discovered the front door wide open, with no sign of life inside.
Without a second thought, Ye Ming charged into the house and as he entered the living room, he was confronted by the sight of several burly men.
The lead thug sneered and said, "Ye Ming, you’re too late! Your mother is in my hands now."
"Kneel and apologize, call me ’Grandpa,’ or my knife here might slip and scar your mother’s face..."
"Ye Ming!" a shout came, and turning his head, Ye Ming saw Jiang Rou standing there. Behind her was another thug, his hand on her shoulder and the other holding a sharp knife.
Jiang Rou’s eyes were red with emotion, unable to believe that things had escalated to this point.
She had thought that by stepping back, they would find peace, but she hadn’t anticipated that the other party had no intention of letting her and her son go and were relentlessly pushing them into a corner.
After Ye Ming left the house, those thugs had taken their positions, waiting to deliver the final blow to Ye Ming.
The lead thug too drew a sharp knife; his orders were to spare no expense in killing Ye Ming. Using Jiang Rou as leverage, he was certain that Ye Ming wouldn’t dare to resist.
"Are you deaf or mute? Didn’t you understand what I just said? Kneel down now, or else I will not be kind to your mother!"
Seeing Ye Ming silent, the thug had lost his patience, eager to claim the hefty bounty.
Jiang Rou, with a face full of worry, looked at her son, her eyes full of love and an unwillingness to see him hurt.
At that moment, Ye Ming suddenly let out a cold laugh and said, "It looks like I need to kill a few more people today."
"Kill? What are you talking..." Before the thug could finish, Ye Ming’s figure had already reached him, his hand seizing the thug’s neck and lifting him off the ground with brute force.
The thug began to struggle, fear filling his eyes, not having expected the gap in strength between Ye Ming and himself to be so wide.
At that, another thug cursed, "Ye Ming, you son of a bitch, don’t you care about your mother? You’d better not blame me for being rude!"
No sooner had the words left his mouth than a bang resonated through the room. The thug who had intended to harm Jiang Rou now wore a face of astonishment; the dagger in his hand had been knocked flying away.
Staring blankly, he asked in bewilderment, "What’s going on? Why did this happen?"
