Chapter 384: Chapter 384: Forgotten the Pain after the Scar Healed_Part 1

Having been burned once and duped once, Jian Haiyang still verbally disclaimed any belief in witchcraft, but deep down, he had become a believer.

Therefore, when Qin Feng cautioned him not to touch something, he did not dare to tamper with it any further.

With Jian Haiyang refraining from causing mischief, and Song Sisi obediently following Qin Feng’s instructions, the three of them passed through the grove without incident.

Ahead, there appeared a structure resembling a factory building, but the exterior walls were overgrown with vines.

Those vines looked as if they suffered from albinism, with their stems and leaves all in white, a disturbingly stark white.

Qin Feng focused his gaze and noticed thin wisps of black mist emanating from the leaves of the vines. The black mist eventually formed a dark curtain that enveloped the building.

Song Sisi pulled out her work phone and opened the Patrol Team’s specialized map, searching for the building. However, after searching for a while, she still could not find any information on the building before them on the map.

This was surprising to Song Sisi, given she was using an app exclusive to the Patrol Team. Even if it was merely a few square meters big, any illegal construction within Zhonghai City could be found on it.

This building, merely in terms of floor space, covered twenty to thirty thousand square meters. How could such a large entity not be on the map?

This was too strange!

Seeing Song Sisi fiddling with her phone, Qin Feng leaned in to take a look at her screen and then expressed his disappointment, "I thought you were chatting with some guy on the side, but it turns out you’re just looking at the map?"

"You’re the side guy!"

With a glare, Song Sisi eyed him irritably and pointed towards the factory building with a puzzled expression, "That factory occupies a sizable area. It should definitely be included in the map. How come it’s not showing up on mine?"

"The map you’re using is from the Mortal Realm, and this building isn’t. Since this factory isn’t of the Mortal Realm, it’s perfectly normal for it to not be recorded on your map," Qin Feng explained casually.

Although Song Sisi had encountered ghosts before, Qin Feng’s words still gave her a start.

With a face full of fear, she asked, "Not from the Mortal Realm? Then where is it from?"

"The Sorcery Realm."

"The Sorcery Realm?"

"Yes, the Sorcery Realm! The Sorcery Realm is a barrier created by witchcraft. From the moment we stepped into the grove, we’ve been in the Sorcery Realm. Hence, neither the grove from before nor this building will appear on the map."

"Are you suggesting that both that grove and this building are illusions?"

"It’s not right to call them illusions; it’s more accurate to say that they’re a parallel space."

Qin Feng pointed at the map on Song Sisi’s phone and said, "According to this map, this area should be an empty lot, abandoned for quite some time. There are no current development plans, and probably there won’t be in the future either."

Song Sisi suddenly realized something and said, "I remember now; a real estate company had considered this land but gave it up due to its proximity to the mortuary."

"The mortuary has been there for decades. Back in the day, there were even rumors of it being haunted. That’s why everyone in Zhonghai knows this place is unsettled."

"No matter which developer comes here to build residential housing, it would be tough to sell. So, while the location isn’t out of the way, it’s indeed difficult to develop."

Jian Haiyang chimed in, sarcasm dripping from every word, "The Sorcery Realm? A parallel space? You’re really outdoing yourself, you little charlatan. Not only indulging in feudal superstition but now you’re playing sci-fi too?

"As I see it, this is just an ordinary building, probably abandoned, which is why it’s covered in vines. And those vines must have died, turning them into the state we see now." 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

After saying this, Jian Haiyang strode toward the building.

"Jian Haiyang, hasn’t the lesson in the grove taught you anything? Are you itching for trouble again, trying to court death?" Song Sisi reminded Jian Haiyang.

"The grove incident was no witchcraft. Those crooked trees must be similar to Venus flytraps, ensnaring anything they touch. I was just scared, so I fell for this swindler’s tricks," Jian Haiyang dismissed, his behind no longer aching, his bravado returned. Classic case of the healed wound and forgotten pain.

"Jian Haiyang, if you keep courting death, be careful that Qin Feng might not save you next time," Song Sisi warned him, hands on her hips.

"I don’t need his saving! This fraudster, swindling low life—I’m going to expose him today! I’ll show you this building is nothing but a common factory," he declared.

Watching Jian Haiyang reach the edge of the building, Qin Feng said to Song Sisi, "We better hurry and follow. If Jian Haiyang causes trouble and actually gets himself killed here, I’d feel terrible."

"If he courts death and ends up dead, that’s his own fault. Why would you feel bad?" Song Sisi asked.

"After all, I’ve spanked his butt—I’m like half a dad to him!" Qin Feng joked.

"You...you really know how to take advantage!"

"Should I spank you twice so you can call me ’daddy’ twice?"

"You bastard, I’ll kick you to death!"
