Chapter 166: Chapter 166: Intern Chef_1

Xie Zhenghao was Rickaz’s lackey, naturally he acted in accordance with Rickaz’s wishes.

Whatever Rickaz told him to do, he would do without hesitation.

Even if it went against his conscience, he would still kowtow to Rickaz and never betray this foreign devil.

These words from Xie Zhenghao completely amused Qin Feng.

He chuckled and asked, "What did you say? You’re saying I was sent by a competitor? Why don’t you say I was sent by a monkey?"

"Pfft..."

Qin Feng’s nonchalance made Xue Xiaochan laugh.

She gave Qin Feng a disdainful look and said irritably, "I asked you to produce evidence, not to spout nonsense here."

"Running a restaurant is about having a conscience; the food in the restaurant is for the customers to eat. If the food itself is problematic, spoiled, and still served to customers, such a restaurant is better off gone sooner rather than later!"

Qin Feng then glanced at the chefs present and asked, "Is there not even one among you with a conscience? The food in the kitchen is all processed by you. You should all be very clear whether the food is expired, fresh, or spoiled. To be a person without even the most basic conscience is to be unworthy of being called human! If I were Mr. Xue, I wouldn’t keep a single conscienceless chef. Fire them all, every last one!"

Qin Feng’s words were indeed striking.

However, to the chefs listening, it sounded like a joke.

Far from being moved, they all burst into laughter.

"Where did this smelly loser come from, trying to teach everyone a lesson on humanity?"

"Just by looking at this smelly loser, he’s clearly never been to a high-end Western restaurant in his life. Not knowing the taste of fine Western cuisine, he even dares to question our restaurant’s ingredients?"

"This is a classic case of a country bumpkin who can’t appreciate fine bran!"

"Some smelly loser must have come into some cash and ran to our restaurant to show off. And look what happened, his attempt to show off backfired, and he got stricken by lightning instead, huh?"

"In my opinion, a smelly loser like this should be thrown out by security straight away. Letting him into the kitchen and causing trouble here is really showing him too much face. It’s as if our Greenland Restaurant would allow any Tom, Dick, or Harry to come and give orders."

...

Everyone had their say, mocking Qin Feng one after another.

Xue Xiaochan didn’t speak up, just quietly watching.

She wanted to see how Qin Feng would handle the situation without his wife stepping in.

"Is there not even one person among so many of you who dares to tell the truth? Has everyone’s conscience really been eaten by dogs?"

Qin Feng was still giving them a chance.

With dozens of people in the kitchen, he refused to believe he couldn’t find one person with a conscience.

Just then, a short figure stepped forward.

His name was Lv Hua, and he had been working at Greenland Restaurant for over two years, still as an apprentice chef.

Lv Hua’s cooking skills were decent, but because his specialty was Chinese cuisine rather than Western, he struggled to excel at a high-end Western establishment like Greenland Restaurant.

In this kitchen, because Rickaz was the head chef, those who cooked Chinese food were always suppressed.

Although Lv Hua was skilled, he had never been able to showcase his talent at Greenland Restaurant.

Becaues Rickaz never gave him the chance to shine.

"Since a year ago, the restaurant has been substituting inferior ingredients for good ones. These goose livers from three months ago are all spoiled, but they were not meant to be thrown away. Instead, after processing, they were to be served to customers."

As soon as Lv Hua’s words came out, there was an immediate uproar throughout the city.

"Slap!"

Rickaz slapped Lv Hua across the face.

"Shut your mouth! What right do you, an intern chef, have to speak here? Is it because I didn’t let you become a full-fledged chef that you’re taking your revenge and spouting nonsense here? Do you think Mr. Xue is a fool? Do you believe that just because an intern chef who can’t even appear in proper venues babbles a few words here, she will believe you?"

"I have evidence!" said Lv Hua.

"You have evidence? What evidence do you have? What right does an intern chef have to talk nonsense here? Somebody come! Drag this babbling fool out! He has been fired and is no longer a staff member of the kitchen. He has no right to be in the kitchen!"

Rickaz was panicking, not bothering with any pretense, and wanted to drag the person out directly.

Xue Xiaochan was a smart woman, and she had already half believed the doubts Qin Feng had raised about the kitchen.

Now, Rickaz’s performance was obviously that of a cornered rat. Ah!

Therefore, she was almost certain that everything Lv Hua had said was true.

Xue Xiaochan was a woman who could keep her composure, so of course, she wouldn’t erupt immediately.

She wanted to wait and see what kind of performance Rickaz would put on next.

Seeing Xue Xiaochan still watching the excitement without saying a word, Qin Feng could only continue to take the lead.

Security had already come in, ready to drag Lv Hua out directly.

Qin Feng stood in front of Lv Hua and said to Rickaz, "Are you feeling guilty? As soon as someone mentions they have evidence, you want to drag them out? If you have nothing to hide, why not let them present the evidence and then you can refute it?"

At this, Qin Feng looked towards Xue Xiaochan and cheekily asked.

"Dear Mr. Xue, don’t you think I’m right?"

"Stop being so disgusting here!"

Xue Xiaochan gave Qin Feng a cold look and said only that, without making any further statement.

Qin Feng turned to Rickaz and said, "Did you hear that? Mr. Xue has spoken. She told you to stop being disgusting here! This intern chef says he has evidence, so there must be evidence."

Qin Feng patted Lv Hua on the shoulder and said, "If you can produce evidence that proves the kitchen has been using problematic ingredients, I can not only have Mr. Xue make you a full chef but also get you to be a head chef!"

Qin Feng’s words left not only Lv Hua stunned.

After hearing this, the crowd burst into laughter, as if a fool had said something incredibly ridiculous.

"An intern chef, becoming a head chef? If this were to get out, I’m afraid no customer would ever come to Greenland Restaurant to dine again, right?"

"Who would spend thousands per capita to eat a dish prepared by an intern chef?"

"With Lv Hua’s skills, he couldn’t even match a roadside fly diner!"

...

The crowd had its say, one after the other, thoroughly mocking Lv Hua.

Facing his colleagues’ scorn and derision, a cold smile surfaced on Lv Hua’s lips.

He puffed up his chest and bellowed with conviction, "I may not be up to the task in Western cuisine, but not a single one of you is better than me in Chinese cuisine! I may not become a head chef of a Western restaurant, but I have the strength to be the head chef of a Chinese restaurant! I am from Dragon Country; Chinese food is the delicacy of Dragon Country, it is our culture! As a chef from Dragon Country, I aim to spread the glory of Chinese cuisine far and wide!"
