Chapter 101: Looking for You to Drink
Wen Qianyi and Hai Fu lived in the same neighborhood, in the same building, so they were heading back together. Although Li Jie didn’t live with Huang Ying, she was taking her home first.
Li Yan was supposed to return to where Duan Haibo and the others lived, but since he had already made plans with Hai Fu, he wandered around the streets for a bit and then headed towards where Hai Fu and Wen Qianyi lived.
He calculated the time and made sure they had already gone inside before he drove over. Once there, Li Yan carefully ran up the stairs, even though he was very familiar with the place. After all, Wen Qianyi had just returned, and accidentally running into her would be hard to explain.
At Hai Fu’s door, Li Yan knocked cautiously—just the routine three knocks. Hai Fu quickly opened the door and pulled him inside.
She had also just returned and had only managed to fix her hair and take off her glasses, not even having time to change clothes, waiting for his arrival. If he had been any later, she might have called to ask and urge him.
Perhaps it was the anticipation of the entire evening, maybe the jealousy over the many beauties around Li Yan earlier, or perhaps it was the secretive moments in the cinema that had ignited a flame. As soon as Hai Fu pulled Li Yan inside, she immediately pushed him against the door and hugged his neck for a passionate kiss.
"Go shower... I’ve already heated the water," she whispered in Li Yan’s ear after a pause.
Upon hearing her suggestion, Li Yan felt a bit tempted and immediately said, "In response to resource conservation and a low-carbon lifestyle, let’s shower together to save hot water and electricity, contributing to the nation!"
Hai Fu chuckled, pinching his side in jest. Clearly, he wanted a romantic bath and came up with such a grand-sounding excuse. But in truth, she had the same idea, turning on the water heater as soon as she got back, waiting to shower together. For her, saving water or electricity didn’t matter; saving time was key!
A moment of intimacy is priceless! Time is life!
The two quickly undressed, leaving only their underwear by the time they reached the living room. Hai Fu had even prepared pajamas in advance. As the weather got cooler, she had gotten pajamas for Li Yan too, despite his infrequent overnight stays. They were gender-neutral robes not easily discernible by others.
Under the relaxing stream of hot water, their bodies were fully relaxed. The shared bath made it hard for them to resist their urges, and they instantly kissed each other again.

Just as they finished their bath and brushing their teeth, while toweling off, they suddenly heard a knock at the door!
The sound made them pause, staring at each other. If it were someone from property management, they wouldn’t be knocking at this hour. Nearby, the only friend Hai Fu had was Wen Qianyi, who lived in the same building. Considering they’d all had dinner and watched a movie together, it was quite possible Wen Qianyi had come over!
"Hurry to the bedroom! I’ll handle it!" Hai Fu whispered softly.
They quickly dried off and dressed in pajamas. Moving quietly and swiftly in the living room, they could hear the knocking even more clearly.
"Who’s there? Coming!" Hai Fu called out while putting on her pajamas.
Li Yan dressed quickly; the robe was even quicker. But he couldn’t just hide; he had to clean up the clothes scattered on the floor!
Once Li Yan carried his clothes into the bedroom, Hai Fu also piled her own clothes together, then headed to the door.
Peering through the peephole, she saw it was indeed Wen Qianyi outside!
Hai Fu sighed inwardly. Did she go out and see Li Yan’s car? Or did she happen to look out the window and see him come?
"Qianyi, you’re not asleep yet... I was just showering," Hai Fu said, forced to smile naturally after opening the door.
Wen Qianyi didn’t notice the strain in her smile, as Hai Fu rarely smiled at work, so her forced smile appeared normal to others. If she smiled naturally or laughed heartily, it would seem unusual.
"Sister Hai Fu, I just finished my shower too. I couldn’t sleep, so I brought a bottle of wine over. Drinking alone is dull, so I came to see if you were asleep, to drink with you." Wen Qianyi said, smiling as she lifted the bottle of red wine she had brought.
Looking for me to drink?
Hai Fu was a bit frantic inside. If you want to drink, drink on your own! Why bring me into this? I have no time to drink right now!
But she couldn’t say that, so she continued to smile and deal with her, "Thank you, but I’m not a great drinker, I might not keep up with you..."
Wen Qianyi, dressed in her pajamas, sat down on the sofa, "It’s fine; drinking too much just means a good night’s sleep afterward, and we don’t have work tomorrow either."
Hai Fu, helpless, locked the door and walked over. "It’s messy here, and I don’t have much to serve you..."
"Haha, Sister Hai Fu, no need to be so polite. I’ve always wanted to visit but didn’t dare because you might be too formal. Let’s just drink and chat; it’s nice. Going to bars means being hit on by sleazy guys; it’s much more comfortable just the two of us at home," Wen Qianyi said, having anticipated they might not have an opener here, so she had prepared the wine back home.
With a sigh, Hai Fu went to wash two glasses.
"Will regular glasses do instead of wine glasses?"
Wen Qianyi burst into laughter, "We’re drinking privately; what does it matter? I’d drink from teacups or plastic cups!"
Saying this, she poured wine for both. "Cheers to you!"
"Bottoms up!" Hai Fu tilted her head back, downing the glass of red wine in a gulp.
This amazed Wen Qianyi, who wondered if she’d mistaken the wine for beer. It’s been a long time since Hai Fu drank!
In truth, Hai Fu wasn’t inexperienced with red wine but was focused on getting Wen Qianyi to leave as soon as possible.
